Am I gay for loving this song?

Seriously, been playing it on repeat nonstop. Sick grind music.

Anyway, continuing the 180man sit and go grind today. Think im running sick bad at the moment. Getting my hands in good and getting suck out alot. Hilarious shit. You just wouldn't believe it. But fuck short term results. I think I am also not playing my best. Folding too much on turn after being called on flop. I need to improve.

Made a stupid shove in the daily 30k last night, shoving 55 with 19bbs over an UTG x 2.5 raiser who i had only 2 hands on, who had 3 times my stack. He called with 99. Results orientated. No? Bad time to make a shove like that on someone who I have no info on.

Anyway, Im grinding these 180man all week or untill i go bust.

Brutality
  Chewits, Dec 27 2009

Well, yesterday I got a few hours to play some sit+gos. I tried a few, from the smaller 18/27man sit+gos to 45/90mans. Well it turned into a complete fucking disaster. I had like 18 sit+gos going (Stacked), and I played complete and utterly terrible. Could not focus enough to make this amount profitable. So after that fuck up. I cut down the amount to 6-10 so it was tiled on two screens. Didn't exactly play brilliant. Realized I do not play particularly well in the smaller sit+gos.

So today started grinding the 180 mans. I made a ton of profit on these in the past, and stopped when I probably should have continued grinding. Tried the cheap $2 turbo 180mans, but wow, these are just brutal. I am getting my hand in good preflop or on the flop and getting smacked in the face on turn/river faaar too much. Its not variance as such, it is just players call TP ANY kicker all in in these, and so many times keep getting outered. Fucking brutal.

Also I do not think I can play these turbos particularly well. Been searching the internet for any good guides on how to dominate the turbo 180mans. I think my problem is I am shoving my stack in too early. I mean I am used to MTT play where 10-15bb is like shove or fold. But in turbos I think you gotta hold out bit longer than that, because peoples calling range is sooo fucking ridic wide its practically any 2 in the deck, usually suited, even if it is for the tourney life too. Its crazy. So, I dunno. Staying away from the turbos for a while yet.

Not made any significant results yet. To be hounest its been pretty dam poor. But I feel much more comfortable in these $4 180 man sit+gos, there are still plenty of terrible players, but its not AS crazy as turbos. So grinding these plus all the micro MTTs.

Schedule tonight (GMT):

18:00 - $5.50 - 20k GTD
19:00 - $11 - Daily 30k
19:00 - $3.30 - 1.5k GTD
19:15 - $3.3+r - 50k gtd rebuy
19:45 - $1 - World Record $300k GTD
20:30 - $11 - Sunday 1/4 Million GTD

Playing $4 180man SNGs amongst all this too.

Gonna not post any hands or results this week. Untill it is over, and the look at the damage.

Happy New Year

Done with cash
  Chewits, Dec 24 2009

I am done with cash games for the near future. I just cannot seem to be a consistent winner. All my decent poker winnings have come from SnGs and MTTs. Cash games I have always lost money in the long run. Its a shame, because I love playing them, I just cannot win consistently. Days I will feel like I make good plays, and end up being 8 BI down, or days I play good, make 2BI. But in long run I am loosing more than winning, and it just depresses me.

So I have decided to back to the building blocks and I am dedicating all my Poker time to playing lots and lots and lots of SnGs. I have done all right in these before and I feel more comfortable there. I am gonna be starting off right down with the drags of the poker society and grinding $2-5 SnGs. I have a huge bankroll, but I am going to need it, if I want to make the correct plays.

I am off for 10 days untill I go back to work, and within that time I hope to have played alot of games. Right now I do not know what I can achieve per day, but over next few days I am looking to gauge that and set myself some targets.

If anyone does see me playing Cash games, please pester the hell out of me. Considering to exclude myself from cash games, but do not want to, as I want to at least have some self-control and not play them. If I cannot discipline myself to not play cash, then maybe I should not continue with poker.

Merry Christmas all.

Tilted but stopped in time - review
  Chewits, Dec 20 2009

isclaimer - actually looking for constructive criticism on plays, so its not just a whine *

Seriously got tilted over a fish in NL50 HU earlier. It just seemed no matter what I did, or what hand I had, he always had something better. I was getting owned. He started with just over 50bb stack ($30 at nl50), and finished around on $150, which was mega tilting. But I managed to quit and took some hours off. Went out for dinner with family and shit, and now feel totally relaxed, and now having a look over some of the hands.

At the time, I felt like there was no way to beat this type of player. So our villain, after 281 hands, 49/6/50. 35% fold to cbet.So this guy would rarely call oop when I am on button. I open x3 pretty much standard, mixing it up with some times x4 and the odd x2. Then when he was on the button he always limped.

Story of the session was this, I open x3, he calls, I completely miss flop, try to cbet, he calls, I still have nothing and give up, checking, he checks, then he bets the river. This guy rarely folded to cbets, so I really couldnt do it with air, so I started checking flops alot more. Any time I hit any sort of hand, he would peel flop and fold the turn. Meaning I always ended up getting tiny pots of him, but on my monster hands he always had something slightly better. I just felt like I was getting crushed by the sickest callstation ever. All his limped pots too, if I x4 it pre, he was calling that, and then I was missing so much and ending up donating more money. So I would just check his limped pots,. and alot of the times it was checked to river, with him winning with high card most of the time (not that it matters anyway, as I was folding pre if he raised).

Some major hands of the session;

Hand 1
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 2
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 3
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 4
+ Show Spoiler +

Hand 5
+ Show Spoiler +

Looking through my hand history, the biggest pot I acutally won from him was 22bbs. Everything else was tiny pots, I just never could get payed off when I hit big hands. This was the only hand that I can find that went to showdown and he payed me off;

+ Show Spoiler +

So anyway, I am looking to learn how to play vs these type of oppenents. So my opinions of this villian, is he plays super passive, but rarely gets his money in with marginal hands. Does not stack off light. Always bets smallish on streets with made hands. Rarely raises. There was one hand he min c/r with trips on a flop, that he checked turn and bet small on river, which i called with TPTK.

How do I beat these scummy players!?! Thanks .

Other Poker rooms
  Chewits, Dec 20 2009

I only play on Stars or FTP atm. But I want to try out some other poker rooms. I am slightly restricted as to what rooms I play, as I am on a Mac, and I really do not want to play on Windows XP (its broken copy..). Anyway the HUD program I use while playing Poker supports currently, Stars, FTP, Ultimate Bet and Ongame Network.

This may sound dumb, but how the hell does this Ongame network work? I do not understand this. What is the website for the poker room? Is it lots of different poker rooms or what? Where can I download the client?

Also, is UltimateBet any good? Looking to be playing 50NL/100NL 6max and 50NLHU.

Poker Video Sites
  Chewits, Nov 18 2009

I want to sign up to a monthly kinda thing at CR or DC etc, but notice they only accept credit cards, which sucks completely balls. I have a Maestro (aka Switch), that is accepted alot around this planet we live on. How can these sites only accept credit cards? I notice they allow paypal, but fuck I have no Idea how that works, and it looks like the biggest pain in the arse. Is moneybookers the same sort of thing? Is it difficult to set up or am I just being a noob?

Regarding Poker Video sites, which do you feel is the best, for Low Stakes, NL50 level, 6max and HU play. I need to drastically work on my game, and not having access to these videos is definitely -EV for me.
