Trials, Tribulations

so fed up right now. Always happens the same way play a bunch of solid sessions one after the other and build up only to piss it away in a single big losing session. I'm just wasting my time. Every time like I feel like I'm getting footing again I get the rug pulled from under me. I've been thinking about quitting for a while now and just cashing everything out -_-

So finally after about 4 years (lol) of wanting to get a setup I finally pulled the trigger and picked up some gear. The whole affair set me back like CAD $650 (my original budget was like $500 hah) and I pretty much love it. The weather is shitty though, it's above zero and raining right now, so I haven't been able to hit the mountains just yet. Can't wait for good conditions. Also going to be staying in a chalet by a mountain for spring break with my buddies, looking forward to that.

I pretty much haven't played any poker in February, have had zero desire to do so. So much for my goal of reaching 10K bankroll early February, that's definitely out the window. Oh well. Hope everyone is doing well, gl at the tables you mofos.

Only had time to play 3 sessions since I was doing a lot of stuff this weekend (wish I had time to play more). First time went well, ended up even though I made a few stupid donk moves which I wasn't happy about. That was Friday night and it brought my roll to about 6.4k. Played the 2nd session yesterday afternoon and I ran bad and don't really think I was playing my A game. So I lost 3BI there and then quit because I had to go for dinner. BR = 5.8k.

Played the 3rd session today, but started with 100nl where I grinded back to buyins so I would have 6k for 200nl again. Ran well and played very well and was back to 6k. Then after dinner I played another 200nl session and it went good. Had one or 2 bad beats, but ended +ve. I was at a table with position on the biggest fish ever and he had an 800BB stack and was just running so hot. So I was just waiting for a hand but unfortunately some other bastard luckbox nit took most of his money. Didn't get a single penny from that fish It's okay, still up for the day. Made a couple of mistakes but overall playing pretty solid I think. One of my goals is to reach 10K bankroll in February which I think is very doable at the rate things are going. Just hold one time pls.

Went alright. People are 3bet/squeeze happy here. I'm not too happy with the way I played, it was too nitty and I made quite a few donk moves which I'm not at all happy at all about. Hurt my winrate, but I'm still up. First time I've had a +ve session on a shot so that's pretty good. Hopefully I'm here to stay ^^



Also went snowboarding today with 2 of my good friends. We snowboarded for like 6 hours, it was sweet.

So I think my little downswing is over, and as always there's nothing better than a nice downswing to improve your game. I've been pestering lots of people lately, bombarding them with questions and hands (I was in monster learning hungry mode) and they have kindly shared their views, opinions and experience with me to which I'm very grateful ^^ My game has improved a lot the past week!

I'm getting tempted to move back to iPoker for RB again! Lol, last time that happened I quit super fast after I lost 6bi in 2 short sessions (I couldn't feel I could play well on that software). I insta-moved back to stars and vowed never to leave again haha. But maybe it deserves another chance, I was quick to judge. Or I could stay at Stars and make Supernova easily this year but that's gonna take a long time =/ Suggestions plz.

I'm back to school this semester after a one year break pretty much due to some personal problems (not poker addiction, well a slightly contributing cause in the 2nd semester, but not significant enough). So hopefully this will work out, it's looking alright so far.

Anyways, my bankroll has finally come back to 6k and now I think I am ready to start taking shots at 200nl :D. But it's like 5am and I have class tomorrow so I'll leave that to tomorrow night if I'm not feeling dead by then (my sleeping schedule is always fucked up). So gl to me for that

Ok so I just had a 13 hour session (yea I'm sick like that) which is by far the longest I've ever gone. I don't even know how or why I grinded for that long, but I did. I guess I'm just logging hands to catch up for my month long slacking off and I want to grind through this downswing really badly.

Well I didn't run so great, won 0.8 BI in 9.4k hands lol??? I was running massively under EV- and just getting brutally beat all over the place. I'm pretty pleased with the way I played for the most part but I think I can safely say that I'm going through a downswing. I'm trying my hardest to improve my post flop game because it's pretty shitty imo and I bleed lots of money in non-sd pots and sometimes I'm too stationy with one-pair type hands. But I've increased my aggression, especially on the turn and river and it's improved my play so much imo. I'm taking down a lot more medium sized pots, and getting in nice river value bets which I was missing before. But I still think my biggest leaks are postflop and I'm still not sure how to go around fixing it (I experiment mostly but I'm just leaking a lot). Oh well, hopefully I'll "get it" soon enough.
