Good News

The good news is, that although I've been busy all weekend from Friday to Monday and put in 0 hands I've still managed to put in quite alot of hands since my last update. Not, of course as many as I'd like but begggers can't be choosers and I'm on course for like a 40-45k month which i'd be happy with.

Bad News

The bad news is, I've been running really poorly recently. Well not excessively terrible just I've lost like 60% of my 50%'s and like 50% of my 66%'s to win, also lost a bunch of overpairs to underpairs, but overall it's going well.

Request

I'd like to have a look at my "expected wins after allin" and actual wins or whatever it is. You know the graph with the 3 lines, just to see how I am running in those situations, (although obviously it proves little cos there's much more luck to poker, especially hu than what you when allin!) So if anyone could link me to the site with that programme that'd be nice, thank you.

Hands I lost - With Commentry ^^

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/406070

Maybe I coulda passed this on the river, I mean maybe I should've I don't know. I was just like gah T9, oh there it is. But I'm sure we've all been there before.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/406071

obv not a huge outdraw, or an outdraw at all in some ways, some people might say I played this badly on the flop but, I didn't not against this guy. Anyway just posted this one as an example, i've got in against 6 overcard + FD hands and lost them all this week which is annoying.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/406072

gayaids

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/406073

obv shoulda folded this on the river I just couldn't see him for a king (tip after doing this in a session I find it's good to leave straight away ), if I had half a brain I'd have just raised the turn I think.

okok gonna stop posting hands cos they're really not that interesting and the hands I've lost well I'm not entirely sure what commentry to put on them because I can't find many where there's blatent mistakes (although I know there are some, but equally I can't find any particularly nice winning hands, again even though there are some.

Anyway, even though my winrate's dropped it was always going to, although I'm going to try to pick it back up to 30 ptbb/100 even though that's obv gonna be pretty difficult but lets see how it goes.

Good luck all!

Heads up update
  KeyleK_uk, Mar 11 2008

Hi again,

Went to the GUKPT last week. I started on Kets table but couldn't fold KK preflop cos I'm a fish and busted out, of course Ket went on to win the thing and take £120k (240k dollars). Well played Ket ofc, no surprise though it's about time he took a big score, Nuros went to obs the final table with him and said it was awesome.

Heads up's been going pretty well played some 5/10 as well, and been running so well and the fact that there hasn't been any real soft 10/20 25/50 games running that i've been pretty content playing quite low:

Here's an update of my stats since I got my new computer (3rd march I think)
(ps i've got to play like 3x as many hands as what I am playing it's quite pathetic)

Just need to get lots more hands in than i'm playing!

played some real good regulars at 3/6 and left a little up so thats a good boost too. gonna try to put in like 4k hands by the end of the week cos i'm real busy so not going to have time to pretend i've even got a chance of doing more than that.

I suppose it\'s time to update..
  KeyleK_uk, Mar 06 2008

Hey all I'm really sorry about the lack of updates (Although I'm pretty sure noone cares)

To start off I'm going to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Leg 3 main event tomorrow which has like a £1060 buyin I think, looking forward to meeting Ket, Fazi and seeing TwistedEcho again. Nuros is going as well and I think we're trading 20% so could be good.

Hows poker going since my last update I hear you all ask?
Through December to February I was up about 70k mainly at heads up, the vast majority of it at 5/10, 10/20 and about 16k up at 25/50 (which sucks cos I was 20k up vs one guy, didn't play too much though). Which I'm kind of happy with but not really at all, I always said I wouldn't be annoyed at not making enough money if I did 1k a day on average which when you look at some of the games these days it always seems like it should be real easy, but the fact is it's just so difficult to play for like 8 hours a day (or even 3-4 I'd be happy with)

So anyway I bought a new computer which I'd been thinking about getting for a few days, and anyway I fired up my old blog where I was saying, "Oh there's no reason for me to move up atm because I can still make like 600-700 bucks an hour playing 3/6 stress free heads up" and I was like "wow, you make a good point,".

I've been working on my heads up game to whole new heights, evaluating and reevaluating almost every decision on every street, and I was happy with my game in the past but now I'm really happy with it. One thing I've been thinking about is that if I'm playing a good player my AF is likely to be quite a bit higher than a real bad player, so if you're looking to play hu, against a good player your AF could and should well by higher than my average af as it includes the donkeys.

So anyway my new computer arrived on the 3rd March and I'd like to get at least 15k hands or 50k profit before playing 10/20 (I reserve the right to play 5/10). In theory it shouldn't take too long and it's a perfect environment to tweek my game a little bit to make sure I'm all set.

I've only played 2k hands since getting my new computer but here is the PT screenshot, if only I could run good all the time. My figures have changed a little bit, partly because of my change in my game but also because it's a pretty sample size I think. A brag yea but I know it's just a tiny sample size .

Now I was always going to try to do a series of hu stategy posts with in depth knowledge that hopefully all together would give people a real comprehensive guide to heads up. Well when I started doing this it just meant I was giving too much away, after reading through it when I'd just started I didn't want to give all that part away even. So I'm going to think of some other things to post that might be helpful.

Anyway updates to come as always ! (hopefully every 2-3 days really hopefully !)

November Results
  KeyleK_uk, Dec 08 2007

Ok, following are my results from november.

The key things here are :

- Plays been very good, made a few spews but less than average, yet more swews than is achievable.

- When I've felt weak I've found soft tables and when I'm playing good I've been moving up taking on whom I consider to be the weaker regulars and it's worked well.

- Had some HUGE outdraws against me (77 vs A7 reraised pre 752 flop A turn A river for 8.5k pot at 10/20 and a similar sort of thing just river set for two buyins 10/20 44 vs KK) BUT I've made some big hands and the vast majority have held up so I think I've been running average or above average for this month overall. (although the 77 outdraw was soooo sick i was talking about it for about 3 hours).

Targets for December:
25k hands (quite achievable I imagine getting about 300-500 an hour atm if I'm 2 tabling hu)

Attempt to play more multi table tournaments - since my 2nd place in the 100k grt I've only played one mtt the 1k monthly grand tournament (which I came 70th top 70 paid woo) Going to attempt to play all the mansion tournaments because the overlay is sick and the level of play is really really sub-par (really!).

Keep grinding 3/6 - I've been making about 700-900 an hour hu on 3/6 this month on average and I don't think that much more is achievable at 10/20 (game selection is much weaker, far less people buying in with the 2k without really knowing what to do hu) and the swings are huge. Maybe after 50k hands I'll be more than happy. However I'm of course going to sit 3+ handed against fish or hu against fish at those stakes. The problem I have is losing 3 buyins hu at 10/20 is alot more frustrating than winning 6k at 10/20 makes me happy, whereas dropping a buyin at 3/6 is wtf np.

Anyway without any further babbling here's my table for this month on my desktop.

Ok I'll promise my next post will be about

Heads up cash strategy. (Just trying to work out how I can give as much information as possible without making myself exploitable)

Anyway good luck all.

Poker since Saturday
  KeyleK_uk, Nov 20 2007

Basically been running reasonably well recently haven't got any complaints. Only just got back to update my hands into pokertracker, here's the results since Saturday:

Playing mainly 5/10 and some 10/20 when soft enough since saturday. The 3/6 games haven't been particularly soft and a guy made some hands against me.

All in all it's been going pretty good though, haven't got as many hands in as I'd have liked but then again I'm happy with the money made.
Interesting hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319049 - at the end of the short handed game I was playing, same guy who won this hand:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319051 - Not too far into the session, I've won a good few reraised and 2nd barralled pots to build up the stack to lose here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319054 - Hand was against quite a fishy guy who I couldn't see having me beat here, although I really didn't think he was this weak here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319055 - lol, sometimes you don't even need skill with this much luck ! :O

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319056 - Thought I had it the whole way until the river then was like pah grr gotta call. Yay ship shipppppppp

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319057 - Not even sure what to say here, must've been a blow up because theres no good reason for his turn play. He's a regular from heads up 10/20 - 50/100 on the site

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/319060 - Can't believe I got paid off for a set here!

Anyway theres a bunch of other hands but unfortunately they're not really that interesting. I'll try to keep it up and try to come up with some interesting hands later on.

Here's un updated list of all my hands since I started playing cash on Ongame from the 4th November.

Good luck everyone, my next post should be with some hand analysis!

Very quick thoughts before bed.
  KeyleK_uk, Nov 15 2007

Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'll read through it in the morning and probably post another entry making sense (unless of course somehow this makes sense)

I'd like to make a note that even though I'm pretty smashed I still play good poker so.... Notice my AF is completely different here. ie I play very loose aggressive but against someone who's just going to bluff everything off I'm basically only betting with a hand or a complete bluff. A hand with good show down value is being checked relatively often here as you can see my AF is only 1.54 here against these 2 donks (most against the huge donk who's hands against only won like 300 off the other one) and 0.94 at river cos he loved to bluff there. So basically what I'm saying is...

You don't have to play the same all the time if the situation doesn't warrent it. For example if I'm playing a LAG or a TAG I'm almost always going to bring my loose aggressive 45/36 or w/e game to the table and try to win the small pots and the huge pots and obv lose the medium pots. However against a NIT or a habitual bluffer I can't play with the same sort of Aggression frequency after the flop, or against a nit preflop. You just have to out play them if they're a nit and win the small pots and work out when they're gonna pass to that turn bet and when they're really less likely to (which is often, ie if they have 45 and the flop comes 5 8 J they're never calling two bets there, however if they have QJ they're playing till the end against me anyway so you have to work out when. However imo against a nit if in doubt check the turn. Their hands come along so few and far between that you can wait for something imo. Equally against a drunken bluffer / donk like this guy you just have to work out if your hand has show down value and call if it does. A good player often puts their opponent on a hand they can beat not the hands that beat them.

Anyway night all.

Lol Drunk and up! :)
  KeyleK_uk, Nov 15 2007

lol, made some sick calls and even though I'm 10+ drinks down I'm pretty sure my opponents were more than that as shown by a couple of the following hands (I think the fact that I was pretty drunk helped me see into their minds a little bit)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/315751 - A high call

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/315750 - my personaly favourite of the session

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/315749 - bustooo!!

Ok basically he was a donk who made it obvious what he had. But yea good night drinking wise and good night poker wise, keeping well on track in my win rate. Sorry my blog's so lame so far I promise to improve it in the near future.

Thanks for reading !!
