New day, weird day again. Woke around 01:00 some weird female screaming wanting to borrow a car and the cops are in the way or something, so I woke!!

But I fought hard and managed to fall asleep again, but 25 minuts later the screaming girl was back and I woke again!!

But a third time I finally managed to fall asleep, but then some ppl who got drunk got home, and I just gave up and woke up xD

Had a session, first losing session I had this week, annoying, but didn't lose to much, down a few buy ins.
Here are the hands I had the most trouble with. It was a table which just broke, and a guy came and we were heads up for a littlebit

http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/735958/Some_hands_xD.html

Other than that, I watched another bluefire vod, read 6-7 articles on 2+2, the three articles on bluefire and I've read some stuff about other top poker players, like Galfond, Aejones, Bobbofitos and Isura, not sure why, but I felt it was a little productive.

Quick stop at the gym, and I'm back now, and im knackerd, but gonna try stay awake a little longer <3

3rd day of blogging, still going strong!
  Mariuslol, May 14 2009

Pretty weird day rythm, but I'm working on that, think I woke around 02:00
My mate had this really interesting poker book, so I borrowed it. So I read the first chapter when I woke, before I got out of bed.

It's called The Poker Mindset, looks to be a really good book.

Made some fish and rice, went down to the computer and sat and read through some old notes I've written down about poker, after that I opened up some tables, session wasn't that long though, 1 hour 30 minuts or something, but so little tables, I was at the only tables running, and I ran pretty well this session too, so not complaining.

For the first time I got my roll over 2200, which is awesome, but I ended just under 2197,86, but went up 2 and a half buy ins on 20nl.

I'd like to post hands and stuff, but I can't get that submit hand thing to work anymore, I do what I've always done, post in the data, but I get these error messages instead. Weird, have to find out what's wrong.

Think I'm gonna go pee, then watch the 3rd vod in that protege series, bbl <3

**** First Update ****

Done some reading, written some notes, then I got to a pretty interessting post called "5 Most important things for crushing SSNL"

So I decided to write down all the things which looked pretty smart and cool (Even though most of them are like, a hum, yeah, I knew that, mm, obvious!! So forth xD)

- Isolate Donks
- Be Aggressive
- Value Bet
- Avoid FPS (What's FPS? first person shooter ?)
- Utilize position
- Valueshove
- Hand reading. Always always always try to put your opponent on a range of hands.
- Understanding equity
- Avoid tilt
- Remain disciplined (best for pvp yo)
- The number one thing I think decent ssnlers miss is river value bets
- Table selection
- Put pressure on regulars in position
- Adjusting your styles to the games condition
- Be aggressive on more streets, forget about pot controle when in position vs fish etc
- Don't limp
- A strong fundamental understanding of the game (Bleh, I hate answers like that lol)
- Get reads on oponent, write down propper notes
- Work on finding leaks
- Read a lot
- Put in good amount of hands every day
- Try thinking about poker all the time
- Talk with good players (Hmm, should get more on my msn, just got 2 good ones!!)
- Being able to sense impending trouble (I want thiz one!!)
- Maintain focused

All seemd really good, and when I was done I started thinking bout these sick posts I read ages ago, first time I Started reading about poker, and I wrote a compilation, so I started searching through my computer to see if I could find it, I did, and I read through it. Got a chill when reading it, really motivational and good stuff.

Thought I'd paste it here as well, it's pretty long, so I wish I knew how to do that trick I've seen some people do, so you have to klick "Show spoiler" or something to see it, so people don't have to see all that text.

(Actually, I changed my mind, it's so long, so I'll post it in a reply instead, hehe)

**** Mini Update ****

Thought I'd go through all the hands I've played last 2 days, I got really surprised, because I usually just look at the biggest losing hands, and there were so few, I usually look at pots where I lost more than 8 euro. So I must have been running very good lately.

Gonna focus on having it stay that way, and when variance switch and I start to get the short end of it, don't tilt, fuck up, and lose the minimum.

That makes a lot of sense, I think

And oh, the new Bleach manga is out!!

Sick, Barragan the Lich!! Hehe, seem sick strong!!

**** Update ****

Oh, got some rakeback today, happy about it, but a bit annoyed I got screwed by the affiliate I have, think I was promised 50% rakeback, never gotten more than 30%. So T_T to that =p

Was for last two weeks, not played that much so was okay

**** mini update ****

oj, sick, I guess he didn't screw me over anyway xD Checked just now, and I got another 350 euro extra, that's awesome. Roll over 2500 now and I can make stabs at 50nl. Siiiiick

**** Update!! ****

Took a session on 50nl, pretty cool, decided to play just as I'd play on 20nl, and try and don't play scared at all.
Felt I ran pretty good now as well, but close to the end of the session I lost a hand I maybe could have gotten away from, I 3bet with AK and got minraised, and I 5bet, came a flop, low cards and a Q, and I shoved for the rest of my stack, and he had QQ, so that's the biggest pot I lost. But even still I'm up 1 buy in or a little over, so not complaining at all xD

Good session, just short of 2 hours, with 60 euro up <3

My first update and sessions
  Mariuslol, May 13 2009

Wee, first update!!
Had two sessions since I started the blog, and weirdly enough I ran good in both of them, felt I got some good all ins I won, value from a few sets and such, felt really good.

Played 8 tables 20nl, around 2 hour each session. Here's a screen shot of the two sessions on pokertracker

I also saw a vod, and I'm going to start with this new trend, open up a wordpad, and each time they say something which sounds really important, cool or wise I will write it down and make a collection of them.

Yesterday a guy from bluefire told his protege something which sounded really important, sat talking about it for 5 minuts, and said it was probably the most important thing he would ever teach him.

It went something like this

- (golden rule in poker!!)

When you make a bet or a raise, you should know what you're gonna do against a raise, if you don't know, you shouldn't make that bet/raise.

Oh, not poker related, but found out my sister started blogging as well. Pretty cool, she just had a baby, then she started doing it.

She calls it "My little world"
http://burbeh.net/renathe/

Was really cute and I enjoyed reading through it, but maybe not much point posting it here, it being in Norwegian and all.

Oh well :-)

Off to make Fiskegrateng, a really tasty good Norwegian dish, but I bet none of you guys would like it

******** UPDATE ********

Still not gone to bed yet!!

Watched the 2nd part of Samouel's protege series on bluefire, think that series is rly good xD

Had a short one hour session, but kinda tired, not much tables running so just took 4 tables, but was mostly regulars, and some short stackers. Started off good with stacking someone, did a c bet, they called got straight, blabla all in. And I pushed all in vs the shortstackers here and there, think I lost most of the flips, and went break even for the session, which is fine!!

Did some reading, started at the top of that Master Sticky on low stakes!

So far I'm through with:

Knowing your math. Basic draws.

(What I guessed on the 3 questions)

#1 call the bet, if we make flush, need to get atleast one half bet or more to make our actions + EV

#2 if he 3 bet, it depends, if he has frequency over 15% we 4bet
on the turn er check call or check fold, re evalute on river

#3 call, if he checks the river and no flush got there, we shove, because he was on flush draw then

Tired now, think I might take a shower.

****** Oops, another UPDATE!! (that needs to be in caps I think) ****** (seen other people use these stars, so using them too)

Got three more "wise" words and sentence today as well:

- When you multi table, might be a good idea to just open a few tables first, then sit there for a littlewhile, then start adding more tables. Won't get as stressful, confusing, and you'll get more in the flow of things

- A lot of beginners / not so good people's mistakes comes from them being mentally lazy. If you just force yourself to actively think at the table, ur bottom line, and skill level will go up dramaticly!

- Most people don't realize the power of just trying to think stuff through more, push urself to do more, think more.

Ok, that's bout it, now I'm really going for a shower <3

My Start
  Mariuslol, May 12 2009

Hehe

It's the middle of the night, I spent most of the night watching Starcraft vods, listening to Tastless rant on (like doing that).
Played 2 hours of poker in total today, watched 1 poker vod, rest of the day just been wasting time really.

I think I read somewhere that a lot of people get more creative, get ideas and think more diffrently in the middle of the night, something about the brain waves moves slower, but I have no idea what that means or if I actually read that somewhere or I'm making it up. Anyway, I thought, maybe perhaps I'll study harder, get better at poker, put in more hours if I have a blog, seems everyone have a blog lately, but I don't.

Well I just notice the blogs of the "famous" people, so at first I thought not much point of me making one, no one will read it, but then I thought, heh, that doesn't matter, if it makes me work harder, put in more hours, then that's a great thing!!

Hmm... I should look at blogs to check how they are suppose to look, maybe I'm doing this wrong.
Also wondering if I should put up a picture of me, not sure why, but people seem to do that too. (Crap, they also usually start with a life story, but I don't think I cba with that, not now anyway, maybe I won't keep updating the blog and I'll never write more than this first page anyway).

Anywho! I'm Marius, 28 from Norway, played games all my life, I was sick in sc first 3-4 years, then not so good after, was sick in Diablo first 2-3 years then stopped, and best dueller in WoW 3-4 years, that's bout it.

I'm shy of working, I avoid it, I get depressed thinking of it, makes me feel lazy embaressed and bad, but I really wanna make a living out of poker. I don't really care for the money, because everytime I fantasize bout having tons I just buy my dad a car, give some to my siblings and mom then go travelling.

Okay!!

So from now on, I have to watch atleast 1 poker vod a day, and atleast 1 session a day, and that's minimum, on average I'd like to have 1 vod a day and 6 hours of playing. But I don't know if that's stretching it a bit. I also want to make some good bankroll management system. I'm not 100% sure what, but I wanna be a bankroll nit, I hate playing scared, so something in the lines of:

- 10nl > 500euro
- 20nl > 2500euro
- 50nl > 5000euro
- 100nl > 7500euro

Ok, don't wanna get delusional thinking I'll get much higher than that fast lol.
Atm I'm at 2000euro, so when I get 2500 I'll go to 50nl, and I'll keep being there till I fall under 2500 again then move down to 20nl, and up when im over, and keep repeating.
