Results are nice imo.
slow but steady profits and a game that u can robot once u figured out your push/calling ranges.

pretty sure i beat them 18man 6.50 SNGs now after i played 175 of them.
ofc the sample size is still small but its just too obvious which mistakes my opponents do all the time

will probably grind them out for the rest of the month
before i move up

lots of guys advice to not play the 18mans but stick to 45mans ?
are the 45ones really so much more profitable ?

yeha its small money and all but its a very nice feeling to really win money after creating a theoretical gameplan that should win you money
( As said i dl SNG wizard and put in 4h of work in which i gave myself pushing and calling ranges for all kind of situations that can appear in these 18man turbos)

I win my Dominating hands like ~ 35% of the time only T_T

and a very nice one from yesterday

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/814982

Overall thouse tourneys are ridiculously soft.
90% of the players do exactly the wrong stuff.

The try to gamble it up with ridiculous pf all ins like QTs J8s for stacks with low blinds in order to get like a 8K chip stack and then semi sitout unless they get JJ-AA AQ+
...

still its hard to turn decent profit on pokerstars when u lose so often ever and ever again getting it in being ahead

GL ALl

especially to Night2o1
My situation isnt too different from yours ...
thats why i try to make a switch to SNGs.
I was either go broke playing NL cashgame running like dipshit forever or to try something new

18man SNGs
  PplusAD, Apr 04 2010

Tried some small multi table SNGs because i got temporarly tired of cashgames.

Got SNG wizard and put in around 4h of work to give myself decent push and calling ranges for different situations.
Players left / Blind Levels / chipstack.
Figured out quite a few nice things and allthough my game is by far not perfect i think i have worked out a very decent edge
against 90% of the guys playing these who just try to gamble up a big stack early by calling and pushing with all kinda KJs/KQo/44-77 stuff etc.

So far however i am doing pretty medicore
------------------------------------------------------------------
SNG 18man 6,50$ Stars record

6 -> one 3rd place - 17.40$
6-> one 1st place + 4.20$
6-> one 1st one 2nd + 36.60$
8 -> all busted - 52$
6 -> 1st 2nd 3rd + 58,2$
6 -> 1st two 4th + 25,80 $
6-> 3rd - 17.40
6-> two 4th -17.40
6 -> 1st + 4.20
6-> one 4th one 3rd - 6.60$

summary

62 SNgs -> five 1st / two 2nd / four 3rd / five 4th

46x busted before money

= + 18.20 $

Well i definitely had more fun than playing cashgames
bad thing is i didnt make any money and kinda brekevent after putting in 11h of playing and 4hours of theory work.

However 62 is a small sample for 18man SNgs and i think i would have made so much more money if just a few times
my AK < AQ
KK < 22-99
QQ < AQ
AKs < 88-JJ
and stuff dindt happen so frequently in almost all the important situations.

well lets see how those stats look atfer 100games

update
  PplusAD, Mar 17 2010

Since i semi broked in march playing 6max cashgames i decided to do some boku87 style grind.

currently i have 1,7K left in my poker account and 500€ in bank account T_T
thats all money i posses right now.

So how did money melt ?

1.) i moved out from my parents to live with my girlfriend in a new appartement.
that allone cost me like 2000€ in the first month for provision, security and furniture

after that i had to pay lots of stuff like monthly apartment rent, food , train tickets , and stuff
going out from time to time i spend an average of 650-700€ a month total.
This is not really too much but its quite a difference to living with your parents where u spend like 200€ on partying and rest is for free ^^

my original plan in the first months was to pay stuff from rakeback and like 3-4 BI of poker income.
worked out okayish the first months ...
some month i made a small profit , some months a small deficit.
However then i got to do some serious universty tests and had no time for poker.
-> big deficit month moneywise.
Then after tests are done i sit down and try to grind shit out at NL50 -> 18,5 BI downswing FML !

result of that was allready mentioned earlier

currently i have 1,7K left in my poker account and 500€ in bank account T_T
thats all money i posses right now.

Since this is nowhere near comfortable BR to play Nl50 when u have to pay stuff i had to move down to NL25 the last days.

Allthough i decided to need some break and do some microstakes SNGS

Within the last 3 days i played ~ 200SNGS ~ 14h

of the following stuff

2$ HU 4man
6$ HU 2man
2$ SNG 18man
2$ sng 27man
6$ SNG 18man
some occasional 11$ HU 2man

Overall result so far + 140$ -> 10$/H grind

YAY
gonna continue this for a while and see how it develops
if i keep this 10$/h its still enough to pay for things ( considering 3h a day 30days a month -> 700€ ~ breakeven life)

Well looking back at my poker carrer i failed in many many ways ....
considering i was at Nl200 at one point having 3K income weeks or 1K days at NL100 HU and stuff its really fucked up how i did not improve.

on the other hand i am quite happy overall with my life and since u cant be good at everything seems poker is just something i really suck.
2 years of effort and i am still only a semi breakeven Nl100 6max and HU player

LOLZ

Good luck all
