Tilting at being sick...
MasterofLaw, Mar 25 2009
Yesterday I decided to go back to work but woke up this morning with a really painful sore throat. A friend at the office caught tonsillitis during our alp-trip last weekend, but I do really hope that he has not infected me too (For the avoidance of any doubt; No we didn't make out, just sat next to each other on the plane).
I don't feel so sick overall so I think I will be able to get some hands in today also. Really feel like a pro staying home in a middle of week and play poker, lolz. But I realized yesterday that there are a lot cons with such a life. Damn, don't think a spoke to a single person irl, which for a social human being as myself sucks bigtime.
Now time for some tea which I might be able to pass through the open soars of my throat ;-)

Took my fever and my fat ass back to the tables after a short break. This time only a couple of rigged hands occured, a lot fewer than an average session for me. About 2-5 two and threeouters. The abscense of set ups made me leave the session with a profit of +5.5bi. Really nice. NL25 really sucks and people continues to put money in the pot extremely eagerly. Not pf ofc, but if they decide to call or whatever on the flop then they're stuck. Therefore I have been playing pretty LAGish and building pots with draws and so on. I think that can explain my swings pretty much.
Regarding the laddertourney I won the 3rd round also but I think I'll call it a day now and play round 4 tomorrow instead. Really want to be able to work again tomorrow, have felt better last couple of hours. It's a hard decision to make when youre sick on a new job, almost like a catch-22, either you boss kicks your ass for you being on sickleave or else he'll kick your ass for you being the reason everyone else at the office catches a cold and have to stay home. But if I can play poker for so many hours as I have been today I probably can work tomorrow. A tricky thing is that you always feel worse in the morning than during the day because the morning occurs before you can inject you body with some sweet painkillers ;-)
G'night folks...over and out!
LOOOOL!
MasterofLaw, Mar 24 2009
Took a short session, lesson learned don't push the limits if u had a winning day despite having a huge cold at the same time. Lost 6bi almost but I walked into 3 2outers and then became a bit to loose three times with QQ,88 and 77 on 3betted pots pf.

Short report...
MasterofLaw, Mar 24 2009
Made a great dinner of chicken and rice, very nice indeed!
Thereafter I logged in again and this time around the session started like a firework of great cards and hits that stood up all the way. Were about 6bi+ after less than 30-40minutes of play. But soon thereafter I went in to AA with QQ on a 9high flop and some JJ+ didnt stand up against AK. What finally made me quit this session was a set vs set.
All in all I made a profit between 1.5 and 2bi:s but more close to the latter.
Now I think I'm going to just chill out and play some ladder sng 30$ or 3rd step, bought in on step 2 and won. Not much action at those tables so it might take a while before I get to play.
Gonna logon and see if Dusty plays and do some railing also!
Bye for now!
Managed a session anyhow!

Despite my fever and headache I, high on painkillers, sat down on six 6max NL25 tables. Pretty quickly I understood that this day would be another test of my "not-tilting-promise". Damn it was sick today also out there. Think I had Khigh flush vs Ahigh two times, got rivered and turned out by three 2outers and a lot of other beats. Today I swear I would have tilted my roll away if I had played on as usual, because I would definitely have climbed up in levels.
I have figured out some kinda reasonable explanation for that behavior now. Think it's me handling losses a bit childish. Can't accept a loss when I think it's an "unfair" one and then I get some idiotic idea about me getting up in levels vs better players and higher stakes where I'll be the fish. In my mind that would even things out, because there i'm doomed to be the one sucking out if anyone does. So if i go up maybe I can be the underdog who sucks out which would fair and even out my unluck on lower stakes.Yes I know the whole reasoning is totally idiotic but I think that's whats been going on in my mind when I have been stuck earlier. The main factor that get's me into this reasoning is that I think I am ahead in 90% of my biggest losing pots.
However, today I managed to stay away from such destructive thoughts, and I continued to hold my promise, and once again turned a session into a profitable one. Think I made pretty exactly 3 bi:s. Happy with that. But still more happy of myself not tilting but instead standing calm and don't get too upset. Eventhough I still think I'm slightly more unlucky than an average ppl =P
Think I have to eat soon, but it's hard to get anything inside your stomach when your ill I think, but I feel what's left of energy in my body is going to be gone in a few hours...Can't exist on snuf (sw. "Snus". Nicotin pouches you put under your upperlip). One pouch is about three times stronger than a cigarette and I (ab)use about 50pouches on a singel day in combination with 1,5l of cola zero. Mix it up with some burgers and there you got my full mealscheme =) Healthy indeed. As Helmuth would have said if I ever sucked out on him, "You won't last for more than 2yrs son, in two years you won't be around anymore". That probably would be true in my case, but not by spewwing my BR away but more probably beacause of all shit I feed my poor body with =)
Bye for now!
The end is near...
MasterofLaw, Mar 24 2009
Was the feeling I woke up with this morning. My head ached, my nose was totally plugged and I was sweating like I don't know what due to my fever. Had to make and very unpleasant call to my lawfirm and for the first time stay home because of a ridiculus cold. NOT FUN! Hope I still have a job in the end of the week ;-)
I really feel for some grinding but I'm too tired. It's kinda the opposite than after a normal 6hour session when the brain and mind is totally fucked and wants an insta quit, but your body and especially your mouse-clicking finger wants to go on. Now brain and mind is screaming for poker but my body doesn'nt follow the commands. I'm still in bed as I write this. Maybe I get up for some kinda breakfast and then go back to bed and play some fewer tables than an ordinary session on my laptop. We'll see...
But if I play, I'll report from that session later on!
Bye for now!
Second session...my biggest improvement!
MasterofLaw, Mar 23 2009
So I played another session for about 2hrs again. This time I will start out with some unpolite whining again. It was fucking sick out there on the battlefield. The river cards from hell fell from the sky like mana in some story from the bible, it was just pure painful to be me. I first made 2bi, then lost more than I thought was possible (without tilting I promise!) 6bi! Then things turned out to be more normal again, people weren't longer dealt mana from the skies and I managed to get a few hands to stand up for themselves and prove to be worthy winners like flopped straights and top 2pair, which previously in the session had been fucked by quads and second nut trips. Before I probably would have put at least 50% of my roll at stake as a response to the coolers, in the purpose of a quick climb back to the figure I hade before on the account. But not this time, things turned more normal as I said, and I climbed back the patient way and once again turned the session into a winning one, even if it just was 1,88$, lols!
I really feel strong right now, sessions like the last one hopefully don't come to often and if I still manage to breakeven at the same time as hell unleashes all its fury against me, then I believe I will run like Jesus on crack when I hit the heater. NL25 players...be scared, really really scared ;-)
Now I probably should go to bed and watch some poker before I go to sleep and work tomorrow!
Bye for now!
Still not tilting!
MasterofLaw, Mar 23 2009
Today I got home from work pretty early so after a quick dinner I could'nt wait any longer to get in some hands on Party. I logged in and instantly I got my 5th AA in two days, and for the 3rd time in a row they did get cracked all in pf, this time it was KK.
But I have decided not to tilt, but after some other beats that I have submitted on the hand-page I felt that the tilt was not far away, but more far than ever. I sighed deeply for my self and continued to play...finding myself at +125$ after about a 2hr session. And this was without doing any particular suckout or something like that, the best hand only managed to stay the best after showdown which made me and my new bankroll very happy.
As I said yesterday, there seems to be no problem totally crushing NL25. People are often like open books pf and u can almost always tell when they hold QQ-AA+AK, because it's the only time they'll 3bet you. But after the flop the players get more unpredicable, but in a good way. The often seems to find very very bad spots to bluff away all their bi on. Saw some very funny plays today that I've not seen in a long while. Once in the pot people often get stuck there.
Now I'll take a short break but probably I will play another session today. Still having a cold.
Stay tune!
Second session of the day
MasterofLaw, Mar 22 2009

It started terrible with AA:s cracked once again, but as a change this time it was against QQ all in pf. Thereafter I lost a couple of coinflips and further this hand took place:

All in all I did still manage to turn the session into winning one, 80$. So now I've made my first 100 bucks in my new bankroll. Feel proud of not tilting as I would have done before when hands like them shown above occured. Instead I took it cool and felt that I pretty much crushed the tables and would win it back. Feels funny to be proud over 100bucks when I have played pots for over 500$ before, and been both losing and winning such pots. But this time around I'll be more patient and let the time get me back to those pots and the games of my liking.
About the game in general I don't feel that NL25 will get me into any sort of problem. I think I will pretty much crush this level eventhough I know it will take some time before I can climb up to the games of my liking, NL100 HU at least.
Time for bed and some HSP-episodes on the laptop.
Bye for now all!
A new session
MasterofLaw, Mar 22 2009
Now I've just finished my 2nd shortsession for the day. After I got AA cracked vs JJ all in pf for 1.5bi a loss of 1.5bi all in pf with KK vs AA I still managed to find a little win as result of the session. 20% of a bi was the result, lol, but any win how small it even may be is always better than a loss!
Having a cold so I cant't play for so long. Now I think i will go to mcdonals and get some dinner and after that there might be a new short session before I got to bed and pray to god I wake up without a huge cold tomorrow, got a lot to do at my work.
Will report later on from next session...
Stay tune =)
