Remmember87 is often the voice of reason in our group. Natrually this makes him unpopular. A couple of weeks ago he said something along the lines of me probably getting my ass kicked by 5/10 regs HU. I obviously, in a somewhat drunken state, didn't admit this. So now when I'm having my monthly "beginning of the month getting fucked in the ass by variance"-thingy I decided to just sit on all 5/10 HU tables. Results was as follows:
I fucking hate HU regs. As most I think I had 8 tables with regs sitting out (I just sat at everything) and two with me sitting alone before "justtransfer" got sick of me and gave me action. This is just sick considering the fact that it's a saturday night.
In other news I need to stop shoving flushdraws/random crap into sets on the turn slightly deep all the time. It's apperently not a winning strategy.
Yea so I'll go to bed soon to rest up before the biggest party days of the year here in Uppsala. I'm really excited about it. Tommorow I'll try to take it somewhat cool and don't get too burnt out, but thursday will just be sick. So many good friends, so much great food and beverage and no obligations for a couple of days. Except the useall crowd I'm really excited to hang out with Lesbian Girl from last summer. She might be the most evil/funny little HBT-person I've seen so far, haha. Also, I'll get my hands on some Discworld books in exchange for some Heinlein books. Sweet!
Random points:
I need to start dressing better. Got a few shirts and a pair of jeans when I was shopping with a couple of friends. I bought them because I found out that I was all out of decent shirts. This is not acceptable. I just really hate shopping for clothes, lol.
Gawuss is giving me lessons in Polish. Yesterday I learned two words. I've forgotten one of them.
I'm getting out of shape. I'll need to do something about that.
As far as music goes England > Ireland > USA. The rest of the world kinda sucks. Some spanish stuff is decent enough though.
For you guys with spotify; check out these 5 songs and if you like anything state which and reply with a couple of songs you think I'll like that aren't very well known.
Gentlemen, start your engines - Gratefull Dead
The Queen of Argyll - Silly Wizards
Lorelei - The Pogues
Wayward Child - Rory Gallagher
Universial Soldier - Buffy Sainte-Marie
Ok so it was a solid month. Won't play much more, rest of month will be prepering for party and attending said party. Happy with the amount of hands and such.
Down maybe 3-4k in omaha though, so I guess overall I made somewhere between 25 and 28k€ with rakeback.
Right now I'm like 5k behind my plan for the year which is ok considering how bad february went. Still not 100% happy with my mental state. Should work on that. Tried to get money on full tilt but my bank card is stupid .
Might put some money on B2B or something instead. Pretty sure I can get a decent deal there due to friends and such and it'd be fun to play some small sundays every week to see if I can get a decent score and/or learn to play tournaments. Or just hit the HU-tables and see if I can Neilly a BR.
Warren Zevon was the man and quite possibly one of my top 10 favourite song writes of all time. He also seemed like a really cool and in some ways weird dude. This is a clip from his last apperence on Letterman;
Dude knew he was about to die and still joked around about shit. Pretty nice.
Some songs:
Mr Bad Example
The Hockey Song
Also, if you have spotify or something check out Roland the headless thompsson gunner, lawyers guns and money and I dunno, whatever else you can find.
So I figured out that I need to study full time next year to keep my appartment. I fucking love my appartment. Thus I change my application a bit from "this might be good to know" to "OMFG this shit sounds easy!".
Most likely I'll study this next year:
7.5hp Ethics (LOL <3 Ayn Rand)
7.5hp American History (When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Hurray, Hurray!!!)
7.5hp The Brain and Behaviour (OMFG I'll never tilt again)
7.5hp History of Ideas, new time (or old, depends) - I read Russel's big badass book on the subject when I was 12.
Other stuff that I might take instead is:
Theory of knowledge
Cognitive psychology
Kings And War+ The european millitary state ca 1500-1800.
Ohh, and I'm up over 20k (including rb) so far this month.
Ran absolutly terrible today getting my high pairs cracked left and right but still managed to only lose 2 bi due to a couple of big hands where people payed me of pretty big. I think I missplayed a couple of hands as useall but that's to be expected and even if I probably was a few bi under expectation this session I've been running a couple of bi over expectation earlier this month so that's fine. Overall I'm up 14-15k or something, and this includes -4-5k on omaha and -2.5k playing 2/4 (lol). Up like 20bi on NL1k and a couple of bi on NL600.
Thinking of making a FTP account to diversify a bit. Even if the action is good on prima it'd be nice to have some alternatives. Need a good name. I've got one really great I use in Dota but I'm not 100% sure if I'll use it. Suggestions are welcome. Also, recently I've had some need of making transfers and my prima skin doesn't support that so I've been fucking around live and with banks to fix it which sucks.
Another nice thing I've noticed while playing a lot of "high stakes", or at least 5/10€, again is that I really feel that most of the regs have really big leaks. Some of them just doesn't seem to understand poker at all. Never really understood the term TAGfish before but I'm starting to get the idea. Obviously it's resonably to assume that I've got a shitload of leaks too, and every session I play I feel that I play a number of hands suboptimally (is that a word?) but even if that's the case my overall gameplan and ability to adjust to different tables are overall pretty sound I think. However, I'm still really bad in some spot (hello single raised pots without the initiative) and I don't really feel the I adjust my 3betting ranges enough depending on position and opponent. But it's good to know that I know a few things I can improve. Overall I'm pretty happy with my game right now. Don't think I've ever been handreading better or played better post flop then the last two weeks or so. Think some drunken comment by Pinball when we were in Sthlm made me think about some things and figure out a thing or two about my game or way of thinking that was flawed. So thanks for that one.
I'll also buy a subscribtion to bluefirepoker soon. Not really 100% happy with CR and somehow my payment didn't work and I don't really know if I'll fix it or just change. Leggo and DC recently seems to offer a lot more for a poker player in my position too.
