i left nl100 feeling extremely comfortable with playing in position with a wide range against any player and any range. i played around 30/20 vpip/pfr.

@ nl200 i'm getting 3 bet to hell. getting 3 bet by the button when you are utg is such a tough spot.

alot of these pots are now 3 bet pots and i guess it will take time before i grow completely comfortable in 3 bet pots.

a weird spot that keeps coming to me is when BU or CO opens and the SB 3bets and I have like TT/JJ/AQ in the bb. i remember 4 bet bluffing somewhat regularly at nl100 but it seems as though these hands are a little to strong to 4 bet bluff but not strong enough to just flat and play oop. just wondering what you guys do here.

also i'm getting 3 bet alot when i open utg from certain buttons and it is hard to keep track and identify a range for them. i mean i know it's their right as they have position on me but is there no other adjustment than to narrow my range? i feel like incorporating 4 bet bluffs is the only answer but it is some what difficult to play enough hands and have solid enough reads to 4 bet bluff without getting reshipped by the nuts.

another random blog post
  mnj, Nov 01 2010

randomly read a bunch of old lper's blogs like sakisaki's and some others as well....

it was kinda crazy cause it seemed like the original group of lpers seems to be or was a pretty tight group who readily helped each other become good players through advice and support.

lp seems alot more isolated lately (not that i'm complaining or whining, just merely stating)

neways i guess it has some what inspired me and i guess this is a somewhat official reach out to any players who beat nl100+

obviously the nature of help in regard to poker is rather difficult due to the fact that nl200 players can help nl100 players but often nl100 players will be unable to help nl200 players.

neways not looking to start chatting everyday with poker discussions or anything but would like a few people to p.m every now and then.
----------------
a little back ground info on me:
- i still play nl100
- am massively over rolled for it
- i occasionally play nl 200 and will prob permanently move up soon
- am sort of looking for coaching, but feel like i can beat or figure out how to beat nl200
- my goal for online poker is kinda low (maybe due to a skewed perception that nl400 is extremely difficult) but i would like to reach nl 600 some day
- i play alot of live poker these days (u just make so much more so much easier if online poker was this easy back in the day i really curse being born/introduced to poker 3-4 years too late, i play nl 2/5 live and occasionally nl 1000)

i played just a little under 30 hours this month and am actively trying to learn how to multi table =.= (i know this sounds stupid but i would love to be able to play like 8-10 tables instead of 4)

no hope
  mnj, Oct 27 2010

that's what it feels like to be a magic fan.

i wish i could just be a lakers, celtics, cowboys, steelers, patriots, w/e fan. it's just so god damn easy.

the difference in the past few years is that i really thought the magic had a chance. off season trades or improvements made me hopeful. don't get me wrong i'm still going to root for my team. but i guess this year my expectations have fallen alot.

this is the first time in years that i have no enthusiasm going into the nba season. i just feel that the lakers, celtics, and miami have the next 6 championships locked up.

i guess i'm just glad i got season tickets to miami. because fuck man, even i can appreciate watching lebron, wade and bosh.

emotional investment @ 30%

also all coaches who are solid winners @ nl 200 plz pm/post rates
also wondering if i can have a discounted rate for the first session to see if your style of coaching suits me.

update/coaching recs
  mnj, Oct 25 2010

Hello, my name is Michael and I am 22 years old. I've recently graduated the University of Florida with a degree in Economics. After graduating I had a lot of down time just sending resumes and looking for jobs. After no real interest or response from the job market I started to play a lot more online poker. I dabbled in it for some very small pocket change at my time here at UF (I strongly recommend focusing on school) and decided to pick it back up. I was able to beat nl 10, nl 50, and nl 100 and am now about to move up to nl 200. This will probably be my hardest challenge yet as I believe there to be a somewhat steep learning curve at nl 200. Also I am now mainly a live poker player looking to move to Tampa (Hard Rock).

I don't really know why I am writing this but I just had a strong urge to do so. I don't really recommend poker as a lifestyle or a profession but as a stepping stone or corner stone for further development financially and humane-ly (progress as a human being). There is plenty to learn and although it is not the beautiful art form that Chess and Go are perceived to be it is still a valuable self test of discipline, analytical skills, determination and more.

This post is somewhat disorganized as half bio and half inquiry of potential coaches and rates.

I feel like my skill has grown where I feel VERY comfortable with playing a somewhat wide range of hands post flop in mainly SINGLE raised pots. I think I navigate very well and I think this is my MAIN source of profit/edge on other players.

I am dabbling into the world of 3 betting but quite frankly I find it largely unnecessary due to my solid post flop skills in single raised pots.

I do have a hard time playing in 3 bet pots mainly because I have such a hard time putting people on hand ranges. I used to try and trap with AA and KK pf, but I don't feel like they value-cut themselves frequent enough, and instead I would call 3 barrels when they had random 2 pairs like K9 or random sets/etc. As with everything in poker I'm sure it's situational but I suppose I'm looking for some clarity in 3 bet play.

I guess lastly I would like to know any recommendations of coaches and prices and if anyone is willing to do a shorter half price session just so I can see your style of coaching.

Anyway best of luck to everyone
