february was shit - so is march so far
  SneakrFreakr, Mar 02 2007

February was a very bad month. I was running bad and playing mediocre as well (fancy play syndrome etc). I ended losing less than 1 buyin in about 30k hands so together with rakeback I'm actually up a bit.

I took a break in the end of February and watched some CR videos, analyzed loads of hand from my PT database, browsed LP, 2+2 and CR for a long time and I was hoping to get in shape this month and book some solid winning sessions from the beginning. And so I did - yesterday I won like 3 or 4 buyins within 120 hands. Then obviously I got some coolers in return but all in all i won 3 buyins in 1,2k hands. Today I was hoping that my run will continue but instead I had one of the worst sessions ever. I got four 2-outers, two 3-outers and a runner runner flush. I'm not even counting how many times I lost against 6-outers, coolers etc. Actually I wouldn't be suprised if I lost 10 buyins in this session. I made some mistakes as well but they definitely didn't cost me 4 buyins. But I'm going to analyze the whole session deeply anyway.

I've noticed one thing. At the beginning of the session (for like first 2 hours) I'm always playing more agressive. When I'm getting deeper into session I'm either getting distracted or lose concentration and my stats go down to 18/16 or sth like that. I really need to work on it as I think it might be one of the things that influence my winrate (which is below zero at the moment so I'd rather call it loserate). I finally got rid of the fancy play syndrome though which is great. Now I've just got to wait for my rush and I hope I'll start killing nl100 on ftp, prima and party (need to deposit again there). I was pretty pissed off after I finished this session (I wasn't tilting though) but now I relaxed a bit. What could I do?

I'm going to continue playing as much as possible for the next two weeks as I'll be pretty busy for the second half of the March (my mum and brother are visitting me in Manchester and I'm going to Poland in the end of the month). I hope I can finally get back on track and start winning regularly. I think I'm still lacking confidence after a pretty bad month but I'll get over it. I still have a very safe roll for the stakes I play so I don't have to worry about it.

I'm not posting much cause I'm trying to play a lot and I've been going out too much as usually. But I hope that I'll be able to reduce it to once per week. Oh the good think is that I got to Manchester Metropolitan Uni. They accepted me on all the courses I applied for (business with placement, business, international business). I've got no idea which one should I chose so I'll have to think about it. Any suggestions? I'm still waiting for a response from Uni of Manchester (and I'd prefer to go there) so keep the fingers crossed guys.

I'm going to cook some nice dinner and probably play a bit more poker later (or watch some episodes of Coupling - very funny UK tv series - check it out on www.tv-links.co.uk)

Am I cursed? Time for changes
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 20 2007

I haven't been posting for the last few days but I also haven't been playing that much. I've been going out a lot though (need to do sth about it). I had one funny situation that happened to me yesterday. So it was 5am and I was coming back from a party and I just finished eating my kebab. I turned into my street and this woman (28-30yrs old) ask me for some change so I have here like £0,50 or so (pretty balla, huh?) and after that she asked me to write down her phone number. I was looking at her and asked what for and she just pulled her shirt up and showed me her (small and ugly) tits. So I obv started laughing and she said "Just £10 for a blowjob". So I started laughing even more and finally said no thanks. She didn't give up and grabbed my dick and at this moment I started getting pretty pissed off. So I grabbed her hand and told her to fuck off. She took the bag I had with me (inside was my drink for the morning when I wake up thirsty as hell) and threw it away somewhere and continued holding my arm. Finally I made her let me go and after hearing some nice comments she disappeared.

Coming back to poker.. So I've started playing on a new site (prima network) because of a good bonus (which will probably turn out to be shit or they won't pay the money) and I've been running even worse than before.

I had like gazillion beats and I've been missing flops all the time and everyone was calling/raising me. And when I'd hit a big hand everyone was folding. Not much I can do but I also think that I'm playing worse than before my 3 month break. I was planning on playing really huge amounts of poker during the next 2-3 months but I think this is pointless if I'm playing bad. That being said I'm going to focus more on analyzing my game, stats and hands from PT, posting hand histories, browsing forums, watching vids on CR and talking about poker with others. Tommorow I'm going to spend most of my day doing what I've said above. I think I've spent the last month playing too much without an attempt to find and work on some major leaks I probably have. I definitely need to study the game more. I'd like to get in touch with some other players who are at nl100-nl400 (or have been playing there recently) and don't mind talking strategy or talking about some specific hands from time to time. I'm also looking for any kind of advice. My MSN is pawelceb@hotmail.co.uk so feel free to text me. If you don't have MSN then send me your email on nickname on other communicator (through PM) and I'll set a new account there. I think that everything I mentioned above should let me improve my game and help me make some progress (I've been stuck at nl100 for a long time). I'm also thinkin about getting some coaching but I have no idea about the best deals available so I'm looking for advice in this area as well. I think that's it for now and I hope my next blog entry will be much more optimistic.

Running bad, playing bad
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 15 2007

I ran really bad today and played not good as well and this resulted in another -4 buyin session. I'm losing tons in reraised pots. Lately I've been 3betting (and even 4betting) lightly but I think it's just not +ev at nl100. I lost so much in reraised pots (mostly the scenario is like this: I reraise preflop, cbet flop and fold to a push or villain calls and I check/fold blank turn) that it's just ridiculous. Tommorow I might not play at all. I need to clear my mind after a few bad sessions. No poker tommorow should work for me. Switching poker rooms would be a good idea as well. Not gonna post any hand histories as there's nothing interesting to see. I need to concentrate more during the game and stop trying to outplay and outhink everyone as I'm just spewing money because of it. I'm almost breakeven in February after 20k hands. That proves that I've been playing pretty bad. Not gonna happen anymore. Here are my stats from today:

Oh, and could someone please remind me in the comments not to try to win every pot? Thanks

Getting battered in live cash games
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 15 2007

I’ve just finished a huge post about my Tuesday session in Circus Casino but somehow I lost it and I’m to lazy to write it again. So let’s just say that I run like shit. I lost 4 times against flush draws when we got it allin on flop, my AQ wasn’t good against QJ on 39Q flop (J on turn obv), I got KK 3 times and every time the flop was A high, a big cooler in the end etc. etc. So I ended up losing 3 buyins (£600). If not for a couple of big bluffs, I’d be down even more. I felt I played pretty good, and I was reading my opponents very well but the luck wasn’t on my side this time. I lost a bit of confidence after this session but I did everything I could to win. I’m not worried that much about the money but I’m going to play live a bit less now. Only Fridays and/or Saturdays in G Casino from now on (they’ve got £1/£1 tables with loads of people who just learned the game rules).

Yesterday I had my last day at work (and I got battered there as well – it was valentines day and I was the only waiter this day – ridiculous) so now I’ve got like 7 months before the uni starts. From 26th Feb I’m going to start a 4-week (only 8hrs a week) English course that prepares to IELTS exam (people who’s native language isn’t English have to pass it to study at the uni in UK). I think I’d be able to pass it without this course but it’s tough for me to concentrate at home so I’ll be better off if I attend this course.

Today I spent half of my day in bed again. Time to change my habits. Oh I think I wrote about it in my previous blog entry. But yeah – I really have to do sth about it. From now on I’m also going to play a lot more poker. My goal is 40hrs a week. I also want to dedicate more time to browsing forums, watching vids on CR, analyzing my game etc. I really want to become a much better player so a full dedication is essential. I’m also going to claim my free private lesson that I won on CR like a year ago. Yes, I didn’t forget about it. It would be awesome if I could do it with sbrugby. We’ll see.

Ok that’s it for now. I’m going to watch 1 or 2 vids on CR now and play some poker in the evening (I’m going to try out Prima now).

wtf?!
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 13 2007

So yesterday after work (most probably it was my last day ) I had a few drinks with a new Brazilian guy that's going to work instead of me. He's a nice guy but he's getting married next month Then we ate a massive kebab and I was back at home about 3:30, so at the time when the new episode of Prison Break is usually uploaded. So I checked my torrent site but I couldn't find it. After browsing some forums I found out that there's a one week break in Prison Break and the next episode will air on Monday, 19th. I was soooo pissed off. But instead I downloaded new episodes of Heroes and HSP. Finally aba20 was on the show and played pretty good poker. Wtf with young brunson cold calling 20k with an OESD?! The other good thing is that Farha is back, maybe the game will get more interesting, no pots with 6 limpers etc. It was getting really boring.

I played two regular session yesterday and today on FTP. I ran pretty mediocre, lost quite a bit in reraised pots (esp. with AK or AQ when I 3-bet preflop, c-bet flop and villain would either push or call and push turn to my check). I need to analyze this situations more deeply. Is it possible to filter hands in Poker Tracker so that it would show only pots where I 3-bet preflop?

Now I'm going to eat sth, meet my friend and then I'm going to play some live cash games again. I'll write sth new tommorow.

Here are my stats from last 2 sessions and some hand histories from today (I'm too lazy to look for the ones from yesterday).

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145657
Not an easy call on the river and I'm still not sure if a correct one (anyone just calls after his $11 bet?). He was an uknown though so I assumed that he's a donk that can be pushing not only a lower flush but also a str8, set, 2 pairs. I didn't expect him to do it with the lowest overpair though. What do you guys say? Ship it? Yup, that's it. Holla

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145660
Wasn't sure what to do on turn since we were almost 200bb deep and his stats were around 29/17/2.5. What is your play on turn in such spot? Obv I'm not folding but do you raise or just call? In this case I probably should've bet more on the river as well.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145662
I've noticed him 3-betting a couple of times in a short period so I figured that there's a good chance that he's sqeezing so I my AKs was ahead of his range.

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145664
Villain was a huuuge fish with stats like 70/0 after 150 hands (yes, he hasn't raised a single pot preflop for 150 hands). Ship it holla!

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145667
Obv, instacall. But seriously I need to stop running big bluffs so often.

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145668
Standard.

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/145669
That's what I'm talking about. The whole table ws playing back at me and I had a pretty bad image so I figured that against him range I have solid chances (and fold equity). When he pushed I had to call. Nice runner runner for me

Some more cash games at the G Casino
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 11 2007

So on Friday evening I went to the new Grosvenor casino, called G Casino. I've read online that they've got cash games running on Fridays and Saturdays so I had to give them a shot. When I got there there were already two tables running (£1/£1 and £2/£2). I put myself on the £1/£1 waiting list but since it was quite long and they wanted to open a new $2/£2 table first, I decided to play it until they open a new £1/£1 table (eventually I ended up playing it for the whole night).

The casino look really nice, the poker room is pretty cosy and generally it seems to be much better than Circus Casino. The only problem is that it's located far from where I live but the taxi costs about £7,50 so it's not that bad. The whole session was quite swingy and the game was soooo juicy. I need to work on one thing though. Stop bluffing these donks. I tried to run too many bluffs (one in a huge pot) and most of the times they simply didn't work. I finished the 7 hours session winning £290. It could be much more if not for a few bad bluffs. I'll write about a few interesting hands now.

On my table there was one pretty bad guy who would always raise blind in any position before the cards were dealt. He was usually overagressive or too loose when it came to calling. So I was in the BB and as usually he raised blind to £4, 2-3 limpers before me and I raise the pot with AQo to £24. Blind raiser calls, so do 2 other players. Flop comes 899 and one guy bets £10, everyone calls. Turn is a K and everyone checks. River is another 9 and I check. Blind raiser bets £75. Now I see that the guy next to his left is probably also considering calling but he won't do it with two people still to act. The guy to my right looks like he's going to fold so I'm thinking about calling now. The guy that bet £75 would definitely bet a K on the turn and he's also not that stupid to value bet an 8 this way. So he either has a 9 or nothing. I looked at him a couple of times and he seemed to be a bit stressed so I took 4 £20 notes and called. He mucked his hand and when I showed AQ everyone was looking at me as if I was crazy.

A few hands laters I was dealt AcKc and the same guy miniraised blind preflop again. I was utg+2 and there were a couple of limpers before me so I raised the pot to £18. 3 callers and the flop comes 34T with two clubs. I decided to bet £20 to see to turn cheaply (these guys love to slowplay sets, etc.) Turn is and 8 and I check. One guy bets $60 and I call with a nut flush draw and two ovecards. River is a 3 (not a club) and I'm thinking about bluffing this pot. There is about £270 in the pot and my opponent has like £150 left. He seemed to be not very bad and I thought that if I put him allin he might fold top pair or sth like that. Unfortunetaly he insta called me with TJ saying that I'm probably ahead but I mucked my A high to his top pair. It shouldn't have happened.

Later on I run 2 more bluffs (this time successful). First time I got 79o, raised pot in late position. Got 4 callers. Flop came A J T and one guy bet just £10 and I knew that he does it with good but not great holdings so I raised him to £50. I knew other guy was holding a low pocket pair as he asked me how much do I have behind before he called preflop. The 4th guy looked like he was going to fold anyway so a raise seemed to be reasonable. And as I thought everyone folded. 2 hands later I got AKs in the early position and raised the pot. Got 2 callers and the flop came like 268. I checked and the guy that previously bet £10, now bet £25 into a £50 or £60 pot. The other guy folded and I decided to raise to $70. After taking like 2 minutes he finally folded showing his K6. I showed my cards both times to get a crazy image, so that people would pay me off when I had my big hands. I bluffed for the second time in few minutes because I figured that he'd probably think that I wouldn't do it 2 times in a row. And luckily I was right.

The biggest hand for me took place about 5am, when they announced that they're closing soon. There was a new guy at the table who was really drunk and he started a blind raising war with the guy that always used to miniraise blind. In this hand it was already £32 blind from the guy that always used to raise. The other raiser called additional £16 (he already put $16 before) and now I picked pocket kings utg+1. I decided just to raise the pot to £130 or sth like that. The guy that always raises called and the rest folded. First card on the flop was a 3 and the next card was.. an ace. I was pretty pissed off but when I saw a 3rd card I was very very happy. Yes, it was a king and there were two hearts on the board. I decided to check, knowing that he loves to bluff but this time he checked as well. Turn was a ten and I wanted to just push allin for remaining £220 or sth like that but I made the string bet and they allowed me to bet only £100 (I just put one £100 stack first without saying that I'm allin). Villain called and I was praying not to see a heart on the 5th street. River was a non-heart A and I was considering pushing or checking to make him bluff. But I thought that he might as well have a small A, which he wouldn't be able to fold in this spot so I decided to just push. After a minute or two he folded and I probably should've checked. If he had an ace he would push anyway, and if he had a busted flush draw, then the only way to get money out of him was to check and induce a bluff.

I finished playing about 5:15am and stayed for one drink. Got home about 6am and yesterday I woke up about 3:30pm (I'd sleep longer but I started work at 5pm). Luckily I've got only 1 or 2 more shifts left and then no more work for the next few months! After work we had a few drinks with the menager and a new Brazilian guy (seems to be a good guy). Afterwards I had a kebab (as usually) and today I woke up about 3:30pm again. I have to change sth about my lifestyle cause it's definitely not healthy. I'll probably reduce my live play to 2 days a week and going out to once a week. I also need to do sth about my diet. Maybe I'll do some shopping tommorow. Eating kebab every 2 days doesn't seem to be good for my body.

Now I've just read that aba20 joined CR and it's fuckin awesome. I'm gonna watch his video right now and then I'll finally get out of my bed, take a shower and go to the shop to buy sth to eat. In the evening I'll probably play a bit online.

OH I forgot that on Friday I also played a 2hr session on Absolute. I was running soooo badly. I lost a lot of money in reraised pots, where I'd reraise preflop, c-bet flop and my opponent would push or call and then I'd have to fold unimproved turn to his bet. I should probably stop 3-betting preflop that much and tighten up a bit. I' m gonna take a few days break from this poker room and I'll play some more on FTP or Stars. Here are my stats from the last session:

I've also noticed that in the last week or so, my preflop stats have decreased significantly. But I think it's normal, considering the shit I'm getting dealt all the time.

Not too bad (going out and another live session)
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 09 2007

So on Wednesday I woke up at 4pm, watched new episode of HSP (weak donks that are limping all the time), ate sth and about 8:30pm I went to my friends' campus. After a couple bottles of vodka brought straight from Poland we went to this new club called The Birdcage. It was a students only night but we already had tickets so the didn't check our IDs. The queue outside of the club was really huge (at least 1,5-2h of waiting to get in) but thanks to out tickets we got in immedietaly. Well the club is really good. Looks a bit like 70s 80s style (which is great) and the music was really really god (Especially in the beginning, later on it got a bit shitty). It was a bit too crowded and it would take like 10-15 mins to buy a drink. But the good part was that double vodka with redbull costed £2. Well what can I say - I got pretty drunk (nothing special), spent too much £ (as usually) and before I got home I went to my favourite kebab place (like almost every time I go out). So a pretty standard night out for me. I'm looking forward to next Wednsday and I hope we'll go there once again.

Yesterday I woke up about 2pm, watched some tv, ate my breafakst and had to get ready to work. I started at 5pm (I'm soooo fed up with this job, luckily I've got only 2 or 3 shifts left) and finished about midnight but we stayed for a couple of drinks with our menager. When we finished I had a little dilemma. I work like 100metres from the casino where you can play holdem on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cash games start about 11pm-midnight and it was like 1am. Well my decision was pretty obvious and after a few minutes I was waiting with £200 in chips to get a seat at the £2/£2 pot limit holdem table. I got it after about 45 mins. One of the good regulars had already a huge stack (like £800 or so), others had from 50-200. The beginning was quite unlucky for me. I got pocket kings in the middle position. 2 limpers before me so I make a pot sized raise. Everyone except for these two limpers fold. Flop comes Q29 rainbow They both check, I make a solid bet and one of the limpers (the biggest fish and the biggest bluffer in the game) pushes for like £50 more. Easy call for me but the turn comes Q and the river is an ace so I know I've probably lost. And I was right - he showed Q6 soooooooted.

So now I'm down to about £80 or so and I get 88 on the BB. 7 or 8 limpers and I check (no point in raising here, especially oop caus eI'm gonna get at least 5 callers anyway). flop comes 89Q and I bet the pot. One caller (the big fish) and the turn is a J. I'm not folding this hand anyway but the better way to get his money is a checkraise (he bets almost every scarecard, especially when 4th card to a straight comes and opponent checks). As I predicted he bet £25 into a ~£50 pot and after taking some time I pushed for like £45-£50 more. It took him like two minutes to fold 79o and I could see that he was really pissed off.

Later I got TT on the BB and after 5-6 limpers I raised the pot. Got 3 callers. Flop comes 633 and I bet like 2/3 of the pot. Solid regular with a big stack calls. T comes on the turn and I check, knowing that he'll bet 90% of the time. And so he does, betting £40 into a £80 pot. After taking some time I decide to push for another £55-£60. I thought about just calling and pushing a river but an overcard come came and might've scared him and such a play would look much stronger and it would be easier for him to fold. Luckily he called with 88 and after a blank river I took the pot.

Next hour was pretty quiet, I got AA once but took the pot on the flop. Then I got KK and the button raised blind to £4 before the cards were dealt. I was in the early position and there were two limpers to me so I raised the pot to £18. Got two callers (one 45-50yr old woman and quite a fishy guy - well he plays not that bad postflop, but when it comes to prefelop play, he's a donator). First card on the flop is an ace so I'm like "yuppi!", the other one is a 6 and then BAM! A king comes. I bet £40 in to a $60 pot and the woman pushes for like £23 more. Other guy folds, easy call for me. She's got AT, 4 comes on turn and river and the woman (plus a few another people) think that she just sucked out on me. After spending some time trying to explain that I've got a better hand, dealer finally pushes the pot towards my stack.

Later on I played one hand badly. I had a top pair with K kicker (no clubs though) and called my opponent’s bet on flop. Turn was a 3rd club and I could see that he’s probably giving up. On the river, when a 4th club came, it was easy to see his frustration and I knew he’s not calling 99% of the time but still I thought that I might have a chance of winning this pot on the showdown. He had top pair A kicker so I should’ve bet this time and I would take this pot (about £70).

About 5am when the game was getting to the end, my hand of the day took place. Button raised blind to 4, BB called and I picked up QQ in the early position. I made a pot sized raise to 16, and got like 5 callers so the pot was around £75. Flop comes 2 9 Q with two hearts and a diamond. I was thinking about checkraising but I was also afraid that everyone might check and I’d give 5 people a free card. I decided to bet £50 and the solid regular in late position raised me to £150. Now I knew that he’s not getting away from his hand and I knew that I’ll put the rest of my stack. Everyone folded and it was up to me. After counting my stack two times, looking at my cards like 5 times, looking a bit frustrated I pushed for £170 more and he instacalled. I was hopinh that he’s got a lower set or two pairs. The only hand I didn’t want him to have was a flush draw. Turn is a 6 of diamonds, river is and 8 of diamonds and I’m praying that he didn’t have JT or two diamonds. Luckily he shows 8h2h and I show my set of queens and take the biggest pot of the day. It was pretty stressful though. Almost £700 is quite a lot of money for me but even if I lost it I wouldn’t be devastated or sth.

I was really happy to finally have a solid winning day in this game. +£480 in 3,5hrs. I was getting good cards, hit a set like 4 times, had aces, kings, queens and tens so I was running pretty good. I’m still learning a lot about this game but I think that in 2 weeks time I’ll be able to beat it constantly. I’m picking up many tells on my opponents, getting to know their tendencies and I’ll be able to take a lot more uncontested pots now. This should definitely boost up my winnings in this game.

Today I woke up about 2pm (yeah I know – I have to change my lifestyle a bit) and since then I’ve been doing nothing). Now I’ll probably watch a new episode of The O.C., play a bit online and I think I’ll go to the other casino tonight. I’ve called them and I’ve been told that they’ve got cash games on Fridays and Saturdays. It would be nice if they had £1/£1 cause I’d feel much more comfortable in such a game. The only problem is that this casino is located quite far from where I live and getting a taxi would cost like at least £10. And I don’t feel like coming back by bus with a few hundred pounds in my pocket. But I think I’ll go there anyway. I should get a car, this would make everything much easier. Maybe next month? Depends on my results in February.

bad luck continues live as well
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 07 2007

So I got to the casino about 11pm and had to wait about an hour for cash games to begin. This time I sat with a full stack. A few familiar faces at the table, probably two solid players, rest is very mediocre or donkish. Only 2 other people buyin for full, rest is sitting with 25bb and 50bb stacks. Just to remind you, I was playing £2/£2 pot limit game and the ones that post the blind in every hand are button and person sitting next to his left. Yeah I know it's strange - haven't seen it before.

First hand I'm dealt 7s8s on the BB. Early position raises to £7. 5 callers so I call as well. Flop comes 9hTdJh and I bet pot which was £44. Middle position player think for a while and puts the rest of his stack in. It's about £30 more to me so I obviously call. On the river I proudly show my str8 when flush draw, str8 draw missed and the board didn't pair but he show KQ. Nice hand.

I continue playing a bit agressively in position in certain spots, taking down a few pots on the flop. I'm not getting any good cards, not hitting any flops but somehow my stack is growing a bit. After an hour or two I get AQ in early position and make a pot sized raise to £14 after button raised to £4 in blind before the hand. Cut off and button both call and we head to the flop which comes 7 9 Q rainbow. The pot is approximately £50 so I bet out £35. CO folds and button is thinking for a while. He pushes for additional £90 and now I'm facing a tough decision. The villain is a pretty tight but agressive player. What's your decision here?

A few hands later a very bad player joins the table. He's got loads of cash, he never folds, always tries to bluff etc. Perfect opponent but unfortunetaly he's sitting 3 seats to my left. He and the other guy limp in early position, 2 more limpers and I raise pot on the BB. Bad player reraises me by the size of the pot. Everyone folds (except for the guy to my left) and I'm facing another tough decision, this time with AK. I'm 99% sure that he's holding a small/medium pocket pair but I don't want to flip a coin with him for his stack as I know that I can put my money in a better spot. I fold and the guy to my left calls. Flop comes A36 with two hearts. Guy to my left bets pot, bad players pushes. Guy to my left calls and shows AQ. Turn is a heart, river is a heart and the bad player shows 7h7x. I didn't have a heart so I'd lose a huge pot if I reraise this guy again preflop. Later on he loses loads of cash in spots like this: 400bb pot. Board is 6 8 9 7 9. Showdown: solid player shows A7, the very bad guy shows A6. WTF?! And they were racing and reraising each other on the flop. Turn was a big bet called by the solid guy, river solid guy pushes for his last £50 and the bad guy calls. Now you know why this game is so juicy.

An hour later I get AQ again. Raise pot. Get one caller. Flop is 38Q with two spades. I bet, he raises leaving himself like £15 left so I put him allin. He shows QT and what comes on the turn? Yes a ten!

Then I get KK, AA and JJ in the span of 15 mins but get called only preflop and everyone folds on the flop. Then for the next 2 hours or so the best hand I got was 77 (and I had to fold preflop since there was a raise and a reraise before me). Overally I ended up losing about £140 but I felt I played pretty good, mixing my game a lot, c-betting in the right spots (in fact I think that every time I was c-betting with air my opponents folded so I was picking the spots very well). The only thing I'm very unhappy about is that I didn't stack this bad player but I hope that he'll be playing the next time I'll be there and I'll definitely take a seat next to his left.

So all together yesterday was a pretty fucked up day (not the worst in my "career" though). I lost about $460 online and £140 live so that makes a total of about $740. Let's hope the things will start getting better. Now it's 5pm and I woke up just about an hour ago so I pretty much wasted the big part of my day sleeping. But I was really tired after a 4hr session online and almost 6hrs in casino. Now it's time to take a shower, eat sth and either clean up my room a bit (but it's impossible with 4 large bags of my dirtly clothes lying on the floor - and once again I can't do the laundry today cause all the heaters are in use by my flatmates) or play some poker (which definitely sounds more fun). But I think I'll just take a one day brake today after a bad day to clear my mind a bit, etc. I'll watch the new episode of HSP and maybe 2 vids from CR. In the evening I'm going out with my friends to this new club in Manchester that's called Birdcage. There's a nice party over there every Wednesday, which is called "Rehab". Should be a good night out. Tommorow unfortunetaly I'm working but the good part is that it's one of my last 4 shifts.

running like shit - why not?

Ugh I've just finished a terrible session. I thing I've never seen that many suckouts and setups in 3-4 hours. I almost never post my beats etc. but this was just rudiculous. I played a few hands badly and I probably should've folded a couple of times but I just couldn't believe that I may lose to so many setups in one session. I dropped almost 5 buyins and I'm not worried about the many, I'm not angry. Just a bit pissed off cause everything was starting to look good but it couldn't last too long. I had to lose about 5 buyins. I'm still in a good mood and in 2 hrs I'm going to the casino. I'll take £400 with me (2 full buyins) as I don't feel like risking to lose more after such a bad day online. But don't worry guys - I'll get my money back in the evening or tommorow

Here are my stats from today:

And some "interesting" hand histories (I'll try to stop posting beats etc. from now on):

Probably a very bad call.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142739
Another one.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142740
Luckily I lost just $20.

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142744
I know he had a good chance to win but I hate when I make a good read and end up losing anyway.

There are more but I just can't remember them so I'll finish here. There is one hand I had a lot of trouble with. First I'll post a hand that happened a few mins before the one I played: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142748

And this is my hand: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142749
What's your play on the river? Villain's stats: 25.7/17/1. No reads. Any comments appreciated.

New poker room
  SneakrFreakr, Feb 06 2007

So on Sunday I played a quick 4-tabling session. At the same time I was doing some completely different stuff so I wasn't focused at all. Because of that I've made a few bad plays. Luckily I ended up down only about $10. Won't happen anymore.

YEsterday I decided that now, since I'm playing for a living for the next couple of months, I should get some guaranteed money every month, so apart from rakeback it'd be good to get some bonuses. That's why I signed up at Absolute Poker. 30% rakeback + 100% up to $750 bonus. I don't mind extra 7 buyins this month. The bad thing is that I hate the software at this room. I can't see anything clearily, even betting is somehow fucked up. But the good part is that all shorthanded tables are 200bb deep and the players are pretty bad (today I had two guys on the same table with stats like 70/10 to my right and 55/6 to my left and all of them had quite decent stacks). I noticed that it's possible to change the skins so I need to get a really plain one. I played 6 tables and I was running very mediocre and was outdrawn a few times. I had to finish quite early cause a friend of mine rang me and asked if I mind having a few beers at his place. As you know I just couldn't say no. Here are my stats from this session:

And just a few hand histories:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142621
Talking about max value, huh? Well I think that if I played this hand less agressively he would fold the river for sure. But I was betting and raising hard and I just pushed the river into him to make it look like a total bluff and after taking 20 seconds he called. Ship it! By the way he was pretty donkish as well with stats like 38/7 and he really wanted to bust me. He was calling almost every time I raised.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142623
Standard.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/142624
Luckily just a 40bb pot.

When I came back from my friend's place yesterday I decided to wait till 2:45am when the new episode of PRison Break is uploaded after airing in the US. I was falling asleep every 5 minutes but I managed to wait untill almost 3am and started downloading. Today I woke up about 1pm and watched the new episode of Prison Break and Heroes (which I started downloading in the morning). Both were pretty cool and I can't wait till the next Tuesday (at least new episode of High Stakes Poker should be online tommorow).

Now I think it's time to get out of my bed, take a shower, eat sth and play some poker. Well maybe I should also do the laundry and clean my room a bit? Yeah, we'll see. Since I'm not working tommorow I think I might go to the casino today to play some cash games. I made a bet with my friend. The one that will play the most in February (in terms of hours - both online and live) will be the winner. I don't know what's the prize but that's not really important. I also want February to be my most profitable month so far (and I think it's easily doable with rakeback and $750 bonus). So let's stop wasting time and get back to playing.
