I already used Moneybookers for bank transfers, but used Neteller for its prepaid card, but that is not necessary anymore.

Edjon   Netherlands. Feb 04 2010 06:21. Posts 1579

it's under "my account" and I received an email about it. I am not a VIP (not that I know of at least), although I use Moneybookers every month.

MadeInPolanD   Poland. Feb 04 2010 06:46. Posts 1383

you dont need to ba a VIP ( btw to be a VIP you have to use MB for 11k€ one month and then 5k€/month )

also MB has better exchange rates than Neteller ( even if you use it to bank wires )

Time to get me one.

This is pretty cool, especially if you live in a country that uses the same currency as your MB account, it pretty much replaces your banks credit card, Id still get it tho just for online transactions and shit.

EvilSky    Czech Republic. Feb 04 2010 07:04. Posts 8918

Wait you can have 2 cards from mastercard right? I mean especially since its a debit card pretty much.

Twisted    Netherlands. Feb 04 2010 07:10. Posts 10422

Oh would it actually be illegal to have 2 mastercards? I have the Neteller+ mastercard as well.

Don't get excited, yes Twisted you can have as many mastercards as you want. I have two, both moneybookers, one in USD one in EUR. It is usefull for people who won't exchange currency. I mean, if you live in UK and have your moneybookers account in USD, you will lose tons of money conversation rates smth like 1.6% everytime. Plus withdrawing at ATMs is pretty annoying since you can only cashout 250EUR a day. However if use the same currency as your moneybookers account then everything is great. The withdraw limits are low, but you will be able to pay with the card at any shop for free

well there are so many charges u incur using them, mostly from currency exchange and iirc some other hidden ones especially if u get those cards, those are death. I remember i used the neteller card to get my money from atms the first year i went to vegas and it cost me $1k to get $960 out of the machine every time. Doesn't seem necessary when there are lots of ways to move money without paying any exchange fees at all. Lots of skins of big eurosite networks accept EUR/GBP balances, and now so do stars, but stars have always let you cashout directly to EUR/GBP at the true midpoint rate with no exchange fees anyway. I'm on 7 sites atm and only have to pay a little for currency exchange on one of them

ggplz   Sweden. Feb 04 2010 14:29. Posts 16784

Pokerstars send money to moneybookers in the currency i request (GBP) using their conversion rates before sending.

I am a VIP so moneybookers refund all withdrawal fees every month i.e. withdrawing to my bank from moneybookers costs nothing.

They have a mastercard that ive had for a while and i got the proof -- documents on file. If you cashout stars -> moneybookers, you can use the money instantly from the mastercard. There are no fees for buying stuff online but if you withdraw cash at an ATM i think theres a 2% fee+currency conversion. So, dont use the ATM and if u need to withdraw it in cash keep money in your bank. The great thing about this card imo is if you need to order something online you can just instantly do it as if pokerstars had their own credit card for account balances. Then if u want concierge, just printscreen + send the receipt to PS.

It has its own authenticator (similar to RSA) to protect your moneybookers account.

Depositing between places is something else though and i dont really do it.

MB charges ~2.2$ for bank wire and exchange rates are better than in banks ( including exchange fee - 1.9% )

MB card costs 10€ and you pay 1.8€ for ATM withdrawal ( 1.9% exchange fee, but same with bank wire )

since you can withdraw in € from poker sites ( and i have BR in $)that would be a ripoff having to exchange then € to my currency :O

and OP leaves in Netherlands, there are taxes for online poker so i guess he prefers exchange fees ;o

My account is in GBP. Credits to the account are all done in GBP so theres no currency conversion. It is then cashed out in GBP (local currency) so theres no conversion at all for me but yeah other people should think about this before using them i suppose unless they wanna give out 2% everytime.

i dont think so cause im a VIP, for others it costs 10€
also exchange fee is 1.75% for VIPs
and as you said withdrawal fees are refunded

i'd like to be able to send money in $ to my $ bank account and exchange it myself, but there is no such option :/

but you should first check exchange rate on PS or wherever you have the money ( compared to MB, your bank and exchange office ) cause they can be raping you there and it can cost you more than exchange fee

Ket, you don't have to trust them, you have to read the small letters before signing in. There are no rip off charges for this card, except exchange rate. But i just cashout in usd and exchange USD into Litas in the bank.
I got card for free, no fees for replacing.
They charge 15litas/~6-7$ for withdraw from ATM, that's the only charge i pay for them.

you can set it up but it is completely worthless since moneybookers prevents US accounts from making any transactions with gaming sites.

you mean 1.8€ for withdrawal and 1.99-1.75% for exchange rate for max 250€ for one ATM withdrawal with MB card, dont write just 6-7$ when it involves 250€ max cashout

Ket most people use these cards because their governments will hang them if they find out they're making money from poker. Not everyone has the luxury to use their bank accounts to cash in and out.

a very legit point and reason to use it but i very much doubt thats why 'most people' are using them. infact thats the first time ive heard that reason otherwise i wouldnt have even thought of it, whereas this isnt close to the first time ive heard of people using cards from these 3rd party processors. im sure most people using them are worse off and ignoring better alternatives

Mr. Awaken-in-tax-free&legit-poker-paradise, hi!

Anon, im trying to make you understand, that you pay the exchange fee ( this is the 6-7$), it costs 1.8€ for one ATM withdrawal since you get that refunded by MB (by being a VIP), the only thing that is left is... exchange fee
also depending in what bank's ATM you use you'll get different exchange rate, so it's also important to know where is a better rate

exchange fee - 2%
exchange rate 1.5$ = 1€

when i say exchange fee, i mean conversation fees from one currency to another. I don't pay any, since i play in USD and cashout in USD.
