Thread got too cluttered
Anyways hand washing, practical tips shopping strategy etc. should go here. Everything else like stats, theories you can't immediately act on personally leave in the other one please.

Best is to avoid people altogether, keep 2-3m distance in shops and outside

face masks work only when you're already sick AFAIK and when in frequent contact with sick people. And high standard respirators that do work are impossible to get.

Anyways
I already had a cold and was in isolation for 2 weeks prior to Corona hitting europe
So 3 weeks without seeing people now, and finally getting healthy....

I had an idea for A VIRTUAL DRINKING PARTY with my friends
- we have a group of around 10-15 people in Prague we do stuff with all the time. The entire country will likely be quarantined now so it's a good time for that

How would that work though? Just video call using google hangouts, everyone has a bottle, do drinking games?
Advantage is hangouts is that it has desktop, iphone and android versions all compatible AFAIK?

think this is a feasible idea? Are there online board games or sth that we could do?
It's a mix of guys and girls so playing CS or Dota not really an option

Think we'll have to come up with ideas like this to stay sane, believe me It's my 3rd week of quarantine and it's very easy to burnout

Well I've been home for 3 weeks now so I'm a bit of an expert
Gyms are closed here and damn should be - handling weights you just have to contact add sweat on top and it's a very high risk environment.

I've started home workouts

Just set 500-1000 reps and alternate exercises daily
Do shadow boxing, pretend I'm an MMA fighter
It works well for core if you stand on one leg
I throw ball against the wall, do this perverted gymnastics routine just jerking the ball around lol (I'm a goalkeeper so it's less weird when I do it)
I've filled my 2.2l Jugg and mimic core workouts I'd do with cable pulls.
And then standard Pushups and squats

Also stretching is vital when you just sit at home
I don't do it, I'm fucked
got this yoga tai chi hybrid routine
Big yoga ball I sit on here and there
And foam rollers and heating gel for shoulders to get rid of tension
I'm thinking of ordering resistance cables too now

My gym is super small, doesnt even have a barbell bench press. Most of the time I go there (off-peak hours) there are like 2-3 ppl in there with me which is why I posted that.

I guess for most other ppl you guys go to a pretty large gym with tons of people in it. Still, probably best that I don't go for awhile kind of sucks

My only solo living older relative has a vietnamese shop 20m from her house she goes to
She's 94 years old
and has a nurse and cleaners coming 2x per week

The commercial food deliveries have very long waiting times now which sucks
- I'd try to get some social worker service

Thing is it stays on surfaces for a long time apparently and you can't prevent getting infected much with all the sweat spraying when you lift

The government BANNED all gyms and health clubs from opening here, there probably was a reason for that

What's Your shopping strategy guys
- do you just order online? It takes a week+ for delivery here
- do you hoard long time basics like rice pasta and flour (that i don't like eating)
- what times are best to go to avoid people?

I'll just WALK to a supermarket that's away from cluttered shopping centre
probably monday 11am ish when people work and shelves are still full
stay away from people by 2-3 metres
sanitise with gel maybe even during shopping so I avoid touching face with the virus

Pay contactless
And pray to fuck the cashier worker isn't infected already
- what else can one do
- self-pay terminals are just in a large shopping centre I want to avoid

And what do I do with the bought stuff...people probably touch everything can I somehow disinfect frozen veg packages and shit???
Already feel like my mouth tastes like hand sanitiser now

Thanks for doing this guys, as mentioned, hope we are nut cases.

About the part with the masks, as far as I can tell, masks are IMPORTANT prior to infection as well. I had a longer talk with someone that I consider a semi-expert on this. You cannot be 100% protected but clearly masks can help in case you have to go to the super market. Do not think it is useless from what I gathered. Your eyes are important, not only mouth/nose. Don't underestimate this as far as I can tell. I will try to add good info at a later point when I feel more assured that my input is helpful and valid.

n95 respirators are a very good idea

Don't be fooled by the surgeon's general recommendation/lies about they not working, they are mandatory in all of the countries that slowed infections, sure scarcity and saving them for medical teams is a good argument, but lying that they don't work isn't, n95 respirators reduce your odds of getting infected
