They stacked UFC 211, which is the card after this one, which meant they had to put Swanson versus anyone who was available.
The good thing here isn Lobov isn't great, but he is improving in each UFC fight, and he is super durable and can last at least 3 rounds without gassing. This is a 5 round fight and I expect Swanson to win a decision.
As for UFC 211, it's the best card of the first half of 2017.
Meh isn't that low considering Lobov can luckbox a KO in the first 3 rounds

I expect Cub to win for sure, but I don't think he gets a finish.
Artem is super durable and has improved his movement and has decent TDD. Cub won't submit Artem, which means he either wins by TKO or decision. Cub takes his foot off the gas after the first 2 rounds, and since this is a 5 round fight, Cub will pace himself more if he can't win Under 1.5 rounds.
Artem has decent power and comes forward. I think his overall game is good enough to not get finished, but he'll lose a decision.

Artem is terrible in relative to those who came before him as a main event fighter. But I agree with PR. He's noticeably better now than when he first came onto the public scene. Ishihara didn't have a good performance but the Artem who won that fight was seemingly a lot better than even just 2-3 fights ago. His defense behind that high guard of his is also a little underrated even if he's not actually athletic/reactive enough to say it's legit good. I think Cub eventually starts lighting him up after softening him up slowly but I don't think it comes quickly at all
I think Ellenberger is going to rock Perry hard early. But since that bastard Perry's chin seems ridiculous, I see him surviving and drowning Ellenberger late Rd 2 or Rd 3
Dodson by easy KO/TKO. Speed difference way too much
Elsewhere, when's someone going to tell Diego that he should probably stop taking punches to the head for a living?

Perry dropped all the way to -130 on my book right before fight time. Hate rooting for that guy but seemed like ridiculous value. Ellenberger fought pretty well though. Bad sign though when he got that takedown early and couldn't control Perry's strength. It's like he instantly knew too and the 2nd time Perry kinda stumbled to the ground, Jake didn't even bother trying to jump on top control
Maybe a quick reaction from watching him fall dead but Jake should prob retire. I've listened to his podcast before. Pretty level headed guy. Prob could do other stuff. No real path to anywhere near the title any time in the next several years and his game based on his quick twitch explosion is just going to go south from here after his early 30s
Lets go Lauzon and OSP

Did you see Jake's head bounce hard off the canvas when he fell down?
Those strikes that you don't see coming are the ones that finish you. In this case, it was a massive hard elbow that Jake didn't see coming, plus his head bouncing off the canvas. Concussion for sure.

Lauzon vs. Ray, imo:
R1: Lauzon 10-8
R2: Ray 10-9, but I can see a 10-9 for Lauzon
R3: Ray 10-9, not enough for 10-8 imo
Draw, or Lauzon by majority decision, imo

Again, wish there was some system of judging accountability. This is going to be forgotten because yeah it prob shoulda been a draw but that guy who somehow came up with a 29-27 for Ray should just go play bingo or something. Just pressing buttons

I had fifty bones on lauzon. Not even mad. More just discouraged that judging and refereeing still has egregious errors and no1 ever gets held accountable even as so much $$ has been poured into the sport
That judge prob won't be reprimanded or even called out and will be back judging a fight in an event next month prob. Much like mazagatti will keep getting really stoned and kinda stopping, kinda watching more fights soon

Dodson vs. Wineland was disappointing...
Wineland played counter striker the entire time, so when he wouldn't land his strikes, he'd not do anything at all.
Dodson did the right thing, but it takes two to tango... I thought Dodson would go for a couple TD attempts, but I guess not.
Dodson 30-27, imo.

OSP looked worse than I expected, but he won like I expected him to.
I'm pretty good at picking him and Joe Soto to either win or lose their fights.

I feel bad for Diego Sanchez, but he chose this life.
Al Iaquinta also has underrated power, even though he's on a 5-fight win streak and knocked out 4 of those opponents.

Too bad Artem's cardio started to dip after Round 2. He would've gave Cub a much tougher fight if he didn't gas.
