Has the winner of Sunday Million been banned for ghosting?

It seems that the winner of Sunday Million that took place September 30th will not be collecting his winnings anytime soon. The money was distributed by PokerStars among others who played with him and they all have received emails explaining why.

As the final table was reached “lftgjc”, who has had little success so far, mostly playing $5, suddenly was showing excellent form. According to observers he played like no one at small stakes should.

This alone was quite surprising according to peers, who were not expecting this level from an unknown player.

As the three-way deal with IrEgption and Alin76poker was made, the soon-to-be winner negotiated his share as he has had some experience with such deals.

He seemed sure of his advantage and negotiated aggressively, which was surprising as someone so inexperienced should have been more delicate in these matters.

Some said that it looked like a staked player was not making decisions on his own, but with the help of someone else, characterised by much more skills.

Of course no one was able to prove it, but PokerStars apparently has found a proof of so called “ghosting” (supporting a weaker player from the shadows in order to deceive opponents). Patrik “IrEgption” Tardif tweeted a screenshot of the message he received from the operator. It was about distributing the funds among other participants of the event.

“Holy shit. I think PokerStars banned the dude who won the Milly 2 days ago. Got a refund from Stars, an email explaining it's about a player violating terms of service and I tried to P2P the Brazilian and he's not eligible for real money transfers. LMAO”

PokerStars indeed informed also that IrEgption took part in a game where one player had unfair advantage. The money from that player's account was confiscated and distributed among players.
IrEgption tried as you have read making a transfer at PokerStars to “lftgjc”, but without any success. It may indicate the player was really banned from PS.

Wtf is this shit. So does that mean that when you pay someone for coaching and they sweat you, you're breaking Stars TOS? I've had friends sweat me over teamviewer and such tons of times. Guess I owe a lot of money.

Stars won't really notice if you're playing small stakes or even high. But when it comes to big prices then you better be careful.

stars is an admirable site with humanitarian values. A truly noble and friendly giant in the poker scene.

One of 3 non decent human beings on a site of 5 people with between 2-3 decent human beings

Not a fan of rules that can't be enforced without massive amounts of speculation. There's no way for stars to 100% prove this at all. Seems really easy for stars to just fuck people for hundreds of thousands of dollars and then claim "ghosting" based on non concrete evidence.

r u serious? theres no way to show difference in game of a 5$ player to a very good pro? His game and patterns must have changed drastically once the ghosting started aside from the fact that he was bullying other players on a deal... if your gonna be that obvious there has to be punishment. We don't know all the info my guess is said player probably also xfer'ed the fee to a known account or something like that to make it even more obvious.

the problem i have with this, is every year almost every winner most likely has a better player than them playing, which is sad, but being in the mtt industry long enough, usually the most skilled player would take over in that situation when the $ was big in the stable or the backer..

this is a very common occurance although stars should have a way to detect even skype, i'd be fine with it.
