 The sixteenth season of World Poker Tour is over. The best player in the Champions Event was Matt Waxman, and organizers have already decided to reveal details of the next season.
World Poker Tour announced first stops of the new tour. It will all begin after the end of World Series of Poker. WPT will then head to Gardens Casino in California, where a tournament with $5,000 will be played.
President of World Poker Tour Adam Pliska says it has been a very successful season. WPT has been in Beijing, Japan and North America. A big event in Europe is also back – WPT Berlin.
"– Additionally WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic attracted a record number of participants second year in a row. Art Papazyan won two WPT on the way to become Player of The Year and Darren Elias got hs fourth title. The bar has been set very high and we look forward to break more records this season.
The XVII season of WPT will begin in July in Gardens Casino in California. It will be its debut. The entry fee is set at $5,000. Gardens Casino has been a host to WPT500 before.
At the beginning of August we will move to Durant in Oklahoma. This event will take place in Choctaw Casino (buy-in $3,700). A year ago it attracted as many as 924 players.
August will also be the time to play WPT$500. The 9-day event with $570 buy will have $1,000,000 GTD. It is planned to take place in Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, so WPT will quickly head back to California.
In September World Poker Tour will move to the west of the U.S. In the middle of the month we have WPT Borgata Poker Open, with $3,500 buy-in. After the event, WPT will head to Maryland, for an event with a similar buy-in. Players will practically play two events one after another.
Next two events will be organized in Florida. Between 19th and 23rd October there will be WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble, with $5,000 entry fee. The event always attracts the legends of poker and it is even more attractive thanks to bounty format. The end of November means another Florida event. First part of the American World Poker Tour will be ended with prestiguous WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. The event will go back to the iconic Bellagio and it will have $10,400 buy-in, one of the highest in the whole series. Two previous years were very good for this stop. Last year the event proves very lucky for Ryan Tosoc, who cashed $1,958,065 for his performance.
