Patrik Antonious: "Poker has become too serious and not fun"

The tournaments of 2017 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) managed to attract almost all famous players to King's Casino in Rozvadov. There were also poker legends such as Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius there. PA claims however that games today are too serious.

Hansen and Antonius registered to the €111,111 buy-in One Drop High Roller tournament, but neither of them made deep runs. However that is good for us, as Antonius was happy to give an interview on his rare tournament appearance.

The Finnish poker pro has made a fortune in his time playing the biggest cash games online and live, but he has always shied from being a tournament pro. According to Patrik Antonius that won't be changing any time soon as he reveals it's “really painful” nowadays to play a tournament.

Antonius believes poker nowadays has become a bit too serious for some players, who are just taking too much time to make every single decision. This is why, just like Steffen Sontheimer Pat believes there should be shot clocks in every tournament to speed up the game.

“It's modern poker but I don't think it's good for the poker. It's not good for the game, for the people. This is an enjoyable game. Everybody starts to play because it's a fun game. And you're trying to make money but it has become a little bit too serious in a certain way, I think,” Antonius said.

Ilari is also a fin with resting bitch face but he is 100 times more entertaining

and its fine to say poker needs to be more entretaining, I think so too but its hypocritical coming from somebody like him
