 After a really tight battle in the 2016 Global Poker Index’s Player of the Year race, David Peters was able to take the title from Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz.
Holz held the lead in the race for almost the whole year, but Peters was able to take the lead from him earlier this month after finishing third in the European Poker Tour Prague Main Event. He also took down a $25K high roller tournament at Aria casino yesterday:
“I won a High Roller for 25k buy-in. 293 thousand for this guy. Seems the heater is still on!”
With just few days left until the year finishes, Peters has almost $7,6 million in total 2016 live tourney winnings. He also won a WSOP bracelet in 2016 and had some great online results, like winning the Sunday Million.
Holz also won a WSOP bracelet back in 2016, had great online results and continued to rack up huge paydays from the high roller tournaments he played. Holz has currently $16,5 million in total 2016 live tournament winnings.
The third place went to Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo, who managed to win around $3,6 million on the tournament circuit in 2016.
