German wunderkind Ole Schemion just ended his 21-month drought and won a live tournament for the first time since July 2014. And he did it in spectacular fashion, scooping the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final €100k Super High Roller title for €1,597,800 , the biggest prize of his live poker career. Schemion had three seven-figure results to his name before entering this tournament but today's win brings the 23-year-old from Berlin over the $10 million mark in earnings. He now moves to the #2 spot in the highly competitive German all-time money list, just behind Tobias Reinkemeier.

After two runner-up finishes at EPT12 Prague in December, Schemion was today able to finally add another trophy to his collection. Schemion has had many notable performances at past EPT Grand Finals; in Season 9 he was the first player to win three events at one festival and the following season was crowned EPT Player of the Year here. Last year, he made it to the Main Event final table, finishing sixth for €233,500.

In today's final, Schemion cut a heads-up deal with another European poker superstar, Mustapha Kanit. The 25-year-old Italian has been on beast mode for the past twelve months, starting off his unbelievable run here in Monaco last season, winning the €50k Super High Roller. Since then, Kanit has added another two EPT high roller titles to his name, won the PokerStars SCOOP-H Main Event and Sunday Million plus several other huge results both live and online. However, today's €1,462,000 prize is the biggest of his career and takes him well over $7.5 million in live tournament winnings. He's leading the Italian all-time money list by quite some way.

Ali Reza Fatehi from Iran, chip leader going in to today's final, picked up his first reported cash today, earning €828,500, while Igor Kurganov notched up his third EPT Grand Final €100k Super High Roller cash in three consecutive stops. After a third place from season 10, and fifth from season 11, he's now added a fourth place finish to his resumé.

British players Paul Newey and Stephen Chidwick finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Sam Greenwood was eliminated in seventh place and Ivan Luca was the first player to leave the final table.
