Good laydown no reason to call when you only have $1.5 invested. I use to bet in situations like this, by the way. Someone might have an ace, and if someone has a flushdraw he'll call anyway. Why let him get away with a check instead of calling for a bucks?

not betting the flop is a mistake of course, thinking back i am not sure why i did it. but yeah huge overbets scare me when flushes are possible.

Yeah you are right, checking a set is good only when all of the following are true:

1) There are no dangerous draws on the board.

2) The likely holdings of someone else missed the flop... ie. there are no Aces Kings Q's or a J-10 on the board.

3) You think that if you check there is a reasonable chance that your opponent may bet, or will hit something playable on the next card.

Otherwise I bet out for value, say 2/3 of the pot usually, but sometimes just 1/2 if the draws aren't scary to make it look like a continuation bet (which I often make).

Definitely bet this flop. The preflop raiser checked to you, there's a chance that without you betting there won't be any action on the flop (something you want to avoid when possible), if the preflop raiser had been behind you it could have been an option to check. Now that the preflop raiser has checked it to you you must bet it because there are cards that they can call you with (club flush draw, and an Ace). Had the flop been 226 it's probably not a good idea to bet because you can be quite sure noone will call after the preflop raiser checks to you.

After the flop I have no idea what the hell happened here, but you probably made a good fold

i agree, good fold. when u didn't bet the flop, that Kc is a very dangerous card because now your set is a dead hand against KK/club flush, not to mention a very strong possibility that your opponent may have slowplayed AA with that minraise preflop. i see ppl do it all the time at these limits.
