fold preflop and even if you two are really going at each other at the very most check call the river. don't bet

if you always go in with the worst hand youll never have a bad beat story

ipokeder: well top pair ive actually folded quite a few times
Brandon88: q-k?
kanaina96786: those ladies will kill you sometimes...lol
xXDoubleUPXx: alot
ipokeder: that was a really weird hand
ipokeder: i think the way i played it was okay to call the river,
but if i frontbet, checked turn, and bet river and he raised
ipokeder: i would have to fold
kanaina96786: yeah it was
ipokeder: but when i checkraised the flop and checked the turn
ipokeder: i think he is pushing the river with a big range of
hands just because my betting pattern seems so weird
Brandon88: u oviously have no clue
kanaina96786: looks like they got you pegged....lol
ipokeder: no clue about what
Brandon88: u cant push on the river with a big range of hands
especially when u showed u had a big hand by checkraising
aceholder: got a point
ipokeder: no, i actually didnt
kanaina96786: yep yep
ipokeder: i showed a bluff on the flop by checkraising
Brandon88: how?
ipokeder: because it looked like i had missed and when double
made a weak bet and kanaina called
ipokeder: and i raise
ipokeder: it would make mor sense if i had a hand there
ipokeder: to bet the flop
Brandon88: 3 ppl in the pot n u checkraised must be a hand
ipokeder: it usually makes no sense for me to check expecting
the one guy behind me to bet
ipokeder: well, he bet $2 into an $8 pot
ipokeder: and the other guy called
ipokeder: thats a really common spot
ipokeder: to try to steal the pot
ipokeder: because they both look weak
ipokeder: so i raised the flop, and he called
ipokeder: and i check the turn, i didnt fire again
ipokeder: which is weird because the 8 was pretty harmless
Brandon88: not really
ipokeder: and then i bet the river which looks a lot like im
making one last desperation bluff
ipokeder: and then he pushes
kanaina96786: he just let you play his hand for him
Brandon88: 9-10 got there
ipokeder: yes, but 9T would be played differently on the flop
Brandon88: how
ipokeder: if he had 9T he would not think about calling the flop
ipokeder: he would call very quickly
Brandon88: called the whole way down
ipokeder: the way he played it he was slowplaying his queens
so he waited intentionally
ipokeder (Observer): but with 9T you dont have to think
ipokeder (Observer): you instantly call
ipokeder (Observer): because you have the open ended straight
draw, you cant reraise and you probably shouldnt fold
ipokeder (Observer): the speed with which he called i didnt
think he had 9T
ipokeder (Observer): those kinds of reads are essential
xXDoubleUPXx: i had a6
ipokeder (Observer): its possible he had 9T and was taking a
sip of coffee but most of the time 9T calls quickly on thef lop,
wheras maybe JT will think about it
ipokeder (Observer): i dunno
ipokeder (Observer): that hand was nuts
ipokeder (Observer): can't get it out of my head

yea you don't need to protect your hand, there are no more cards to come and with all the action why would you value bet that?

if you always go in with the worst hand youll never have a bad beat story

Lol, doesnt matter how complex it is, you are giving your opponent way to much credit. Not many nl50 donks have the balls to shove a river just cause they sense weakness. And if he is that good, he doesnt call the flop with a rag hand, and you beat nothing here that calls the flop
