Could possibly fold the river because what is he betting like this? Even on the turn, you could easily have Ac there. He either has an overplayed weaker flush or a set or the random spazz. Who plays weaker flush like this after turn 4 flushes the board?

@ redrain Well, I assumed since people post hands here to get advice on them then maybe I didnt need to state the obvious, but here it is: Where do you guys think I went wrong in the hand? what exactly should I have done differently in your own opinions? Thank you in advance

@ Nitewin yeah given the way I played it I think my river call was really bad and I shouldve folded, im an idiot for continuing when I knew I was beat. BUT, I could have easily won the hand or committed him badly earlier in the hand as well, which I think is more correct here. The question to me is, should I have 3bet the flop, or slowplayed till the turn and then reraised all in?

make it at least 3 to play on the flop. I ALWAYS try to make my cbet at least double my pre bet.

you could either jam on the flop or make it where he has to auto call any bet on the turn, but even in this very scenario, you should've raised the turn. this guy is willing to play back at you on a flush flop, he either has a straight/flush draw (kc), two pair, or a set.

river is a fold.

flop i prefer a jam since paired board or another club on turn/river are all action killers vs his made hands.

As played,I push the turn as soon as he donks it.

raise flop, if he got lower flush he is drawing dead and getting it on the flop happily. You lose ton of value by calling. Very few people bluff raise this board because you can have sooooooooooooo many hands that can call, or reraise to get it in.

Dont chase the paper, chase the dream!

gnarly is there a reason for the pot sized cbet? I see you recommending it in like every hand I play. In my experience PSB is hard to balance and therefore looks really strong or bluffy. And if im doing that I might as well check/raise to get him to commit more money before hand I think. Against a fish I think a PSB would work well but not vs most regs

+1 on everything you said about flop, but Idk about jamming turn... I mean if he can have a set like this on the turn it's obviously best to do so, but generally when semi competent people pretend to have my nutted hand and I'm in position I'd rather flat...
It just seems so ridiculous to block bet a set on the turn -_-

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

yeah... don't pot everything, people fold vs halfpot cbets too and you very frequently don't even want the pot to get huge. Textures/reads should prob dictate your sizing

im not saying pot sized bet, im saying double YOUR pre-bet. you miss out on value.

thats a pot sized bet minus the blinds, which is big enough to get noticed as a really large bet, so it might as well be pot sized imo. Do you play your medium strength hands this way too?

it's how i play my nuts, marginals, semi-bluffs, and bluffs.
