Event #11 $5000 shootout
   FrinkX, June 06

I won my first table and I'm guaranteed a little under $17,000!

360 players entered, 36 tables of 10 people, winner moves on to the next table. With 36 left there are 6 tables of 6. Then the final 6 will play.

You start with 50 bb and it is a pretty good structure.

I had a good/bad table draw. I had blair (mig's roomate who is very good), MrSmokey1, and Andy Bloch (well he wasn't a problem since he didn't really know how to play SNGs). It was a good table draw because blair was 3 to my right and smokey was 2 to my right.

You start with 10k chips, blinds are 100/200, then 100/200 25 ante, 150/300, 200/400, 250/500, 300/600. It's a decent structure. I got up to 25k in the first 2 levels owning people out of position like it was my job. No notable hands. Then when it got down to 5 handed I had 30k and I was still the chipleader (Blair had almost the same amount of chips and smokey had busted at this point) I made a mistake which cost me a lot of chips. I raised utg to 1050 at 200/400 with AK, some guy flatted. Then this chick to my right in the BB squeezes to 3k.

It was a tough spot for me because we were short handed, she was obviously not a good player, I had AK, its winner takes all, and again, I had AK. So even though the raise was kind of in my face I still opted to go with it because there were so many reasons to and she had KK, bla. Was definetely a mistake. I lost and was down to like 12k.

4 handed I then turboed it back up in the best possible way. At 250/500 I had 20bb and I tiny bit over minraised TT and in the BB Blair repop committed with 33 and I won that. Then soon after I raised ATo and he shipped for 20 bb and called quickly and won a race vs 44. Then 3 handed of course I get AK v KK again this time in a spot I obviously cannot dodge but I binked the Ace like a champ and had ~60k vs ~40k vs the chick next to me.

The chick wasnt good (but was pretty hot and had a hot accent) and was my ideal opponent for heads up. Shes the girlfriend or something of some lagtard player I played with 2 days ago.

I lose a tiny bit at first but then start chipping up and get to 70k. She insta tilted because I was raising 90% of my buttons and I was taking down most all of the small pots. I then raised 1800 at 300/600 and she shoved so I folded my A8. The next hand I had 77 and was like ship ship cuz she was on the tilt. She raised 1800 and I raised to 5500 and she instashoved and I snapcalled but she happened to have AJ and hit the ace on the turn.

I then started chipping back up taking down a lot of small pots and she got on the tilt again. I had raised 1800 in the sb and she repopped to 8600 or something so I folded. Then I took down more small pots / pf raises and then this hand happened.

I raised K2hh on the button to 1800 and she like insta threw out 6k and it was the sickest timing tell of life and was obviously BS. I called (because I knew she'd guarantee fire 1 barrel and give up and I could pitch the turn if she double barreled and I wanted the extra bet out of her) and the flop came Q58 with two spades. She bet 7k and I called. Turn bricked she almost went to bet then stopped and checked and I bet 11,200 and she folded.

She was then on the massive tilt. She limped and i 4x'ed and she snapshoved over. The next hand I got AA on the button 3x'ed and she shoved for 50k with 22 and I win.

I'm really looking forward to the next table because it is 6 handed and I think I have a much bigger edge that way. Hopefully I will get another good table draw. The payout increases only if I make the final table. They should be pretty big payouts, I haven't seen them posted yet and I don't have time to calculate them right now but I hope they are nice and big.

I have very high hopes for this tournament. Wish me luck!
