I haven't been able to put in the volume that I would like to with all the jobs I have. Ultimately, I've started playing HU SNG's, and I definitely have an edge. Most people don't know how to play HU, and I feel like that is my niche.
However, in my quest to make money without doing anything (relatively), I've decided to start on some online sports betting. Is oddsmaker.com a good site? Are there any other sites you suggest?
I feel that being an avid baseball fan gives me an edge. I also think that being a writer gives me somewhat of an inside scoop as I'm always trying to read and learn more about the sport. I understand all of the little things that can affect the outcome of a game.
The system that I want to use is basically a $1-$10 system. Pick the games that I am confident a certain team will win, and judge how confident I am on a scale of 1 to 10, and that would be the bet I would make. I would stay away from games I am not too confident in (for example I don't plan on making $1 bets on a lot of games. Only bet the games that are probably going to be one sided).

If I wasn't lazy or knew you better I'd book your action. I'm sure someone else here might and you can get a better price and/or avoid the hassle of getting money on a site. IMO, line shopping and understanding the forces driving the market is way more important than knowing the actual sport you're betting on. As a general rule, I'll fade anyone who lists several reasons for liking a team/side without referencing the price/line or furthermore why those reasons are overvalued/undervalued (already priced in or not), etc. I still wish you the best of luck - I'll blindly rout for most LPers blindly. But I would recommend just faking it by posting picks here to see if you have an edge without risking anything, but I presume that's why you're starting with 1-10 bets. I didn't check the links out above, but I would presume they are links about sports betting, and studying handicapping and where the profits come from is way more important than leaning more about a particular sport and I would highly recommend starting there. cheers |
