thoughts/goals for july and the coming semester
I. amount of time spent playing poker > amount of time spent thinking about poker
II. 100NL
besides a monster day w/ 10k hands in mid june =O, i barely played this month. i was traveling with family most of the time so i couldn't get really into a decent sessioning mindset. played some while traveling in california and made 16 buyins at 25NL before dumping half of it at 50NL back at home =/
im staying in indianapolis right now and im thinking how much my life needs order right now. i figure poker has to become just more than some activity that i enjoy doing every once in a while like casual games of starcraft.
maybe if i dedicated a certain period of time during the day to play, as if i were scheduled to attend classes or something, i might approach my sessions with a different mindset to begin with. the sessions would then seem too important to dick/spew around in. idk if this analogy is sufficent though, since i suck hard at going to class/staying awake -_-a
idk... i just don't want to joke around with the game anymore. i've never practiced anything seriously to get better at it, so i don't know how this will work out, but if it doesn't, i'll just do a flip with whatever's left of my bankroll with anyone who'd be interested and be done with the game. i'll let you know when that happens.

i suggest you not to force yourself to play poker, because fun will be gone along with your profit |

If you remember/ever took playing Starcraft seriously, I like to approach poker like that.
The pursuing the game MUST be enjoyable for you in the long term, money can't be your only motivator. If you treat it like school and you're not a very dedicated person (academically) to begin with, where do you think you'll go?
Pretty much what Anon said, now that I think about it. gl tho. |
