yeah, I'm realling having trouble with microstakes, been playing for ~5-6 months and I can't seem to win at all. Well, I have won ~$160 but I can't seem go anywhere with it. the last 4 months has been literally breakeven after 50k hands. If anyone wants to do some deal like 40-50% of winnings over a certain amount of time or something small like a buyin an hour ($10) it would be great.

If anyone wants to do this, I'd be so gracious, my MSN contact is:

or you can PM me some details.

Here is my graph from the last 4 months

I play 6-max but I can def. switch over to FullRing if that's your game. Any help is welcomed.

hmm, I've been thinking about doing a bit of coaching for microstakes players to strengthen my foundation and get better at explaining my thought processes more clearly

Well , what devon said is ture to some point.

For beating Nl10 and Nl25 u really dont need to do anything special.
Just standart ABC poker.

But fact is some people lack to realize what standart ABC poker is and how to really play that way 100% of the time.
Having seen the rules for tight ABC poker on paper/forums doesnt always mean u manage to really play good ABC.
This is very true for many ppl who struggle at microstakes like Nl10/ Nl25

they theoretically know how they should play .. but they simply dont play tight ABC 100% of the time.
I came to that conculsion when i analyzed my game few month ago when i basically were slightly breakeven on NL25 for over 30k hands ...

f.e
I was well aware at that time that having position is very important and that u should try to play like at least 75- 80% of your hands in position !
When playing I felt that i followed that advice.
but then when i analyzed my hands afterwards i realized that i played oop almost 50% of my hands !!! oops ... no wonder i was getting into wired spots all the time back then >-<

same thing with draws.
I knew that there are odds and that i cant check//call my draws on turn when i am getting wrong odds
i thought that i follow that advice since i knew the theory about how to play draws ...
surprisingly when i analyzed my hands i noticed that i station call with draws like 35% without having the right odds ...

same goes for other ABC stuff.

So this 2 things alone will cost u like 1 buy in 700hands on average
this means 72 buy ins to lose at 50K hands just cause of 2 little mistakes.
then letz assume u dont manage tilt always -> meaning like on average every 4 K hands u spew 1 buy in due to tilt , which is realistic for microstakes players.
another 12 buy ins less income there

So just to relaize , that even if u dont think u played particularly bad in a session besides 2 little mistakes ->
in the long run this 2 little mistakes every session will cost u 80-100 buy ins in 50K hands !

SO its really important to be judging hard with yourself and analyze always after every session if u did play every hand in which u lost more than 1/3 of a buy the best way possible.
From preflop to Showdown.

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 15/04/2008 03:14

oh wow, great advice PplusAD, you pretty much summed me up on that I think I know how to play solid ABC poker, but I guess I can't put it down to action when time comes. I didn't realize that so few mistakes could add up to so much in the long run, wow! thanks for all of that.

I guess most micro stakers dont realize this
( i just recently realized it some months ago ... and i was blind myself for so many months)

many microers who are like breakeven after 30K hands blame it all to variance and running bad.
They think like : Hey , i did some mistakes , but overall i played good enough to deserve some profit.
To be honest ,Variance is very mighty shortterm and u cant deny that luck plays an important role for short ssamplez such as 500-10K hands.

But here it comes :

If they worked on their game and did only half the " some mistakes" they be up 50 buy ins for the month while running exactly the same in bad luck ^^

PS : Getting kimeschogan as a coach might be a good idea i guess
he recently made his way from NL10 to Nl100
He seems motivated and friendly.

maybe getting observed by him while playing and analyzing hands afterwards together with him would benefit you greatly
