Its pretty sick, I was playing some 30/60 razz on pokerstars, and its amazing how some people can play this game, without any grasp of how it works.

Take a hand that played out earlier, against two pla<x>yers yesterday. The point of razz is to get the worst lo hand. The first pla<x>yer was showing 4 cards to a 9lo something like xx9853x, and the other guy was showing something like xx62AAx. The guy with the 6 lo hand kept betting at it trying to stab at the pot, and on the river he bets it again. Now with a hand like 9853 it is almost certain that the guy is calling 100% of the time because he almost always never bricked 2 cards in his hole, and at worst he has a weak 98 hand. He is calling everytime, there is no point of betting as a bluff. But the pla<x>yer with a 62A draw bet at it again and he bricked a 6 with hole card. All he had was a Q643A lo, but the other guy called, and had Q9 lo, because he double paired. Just a really ugly hand, I couldnt believe that Q6 took it down, it was like playing 50c/1. I wish I had the hand history because my analysis is terrible, and most of you dont play razz but oh well its my blog, f u. Another hand was where a guy had a better lo showing on his board, and the guy with the worst board kept betting at it, and the guy just only called, even though his hand was made, and he had the best hand the whole time. Something like:

Pla<x>yer A : (37)T8AK
Pla<x>yer B : (32)KQ86

Pla<x>yer A was check calling and pla<x>yer B was just betting at it. Why the hell wouldnt pla<x>yer A raise. Its pretty sick how bad the play was at 30/60, and ill try and spend more time there. I think playing against some good regulars along with fish, help me find holes in my game. Fisheye25, who plays razz with me often is an amazing pla<x>yer and I only truly realized that yesterday. He made some pretty outstanding folds, and I am gonna have to mix up my play against him, and sort of realize that razz isnt just about betting when you are ahead, and checking when you are behind, there is a lot of me<x>tagame going on, and you have to realize that you sometimes have to respect your opponents hands and make some folds, even when pot odds dictate you call. Making those big folds is what seperates the best pla<x>yers from the ok ones. I would like to consider myself one of the best pla<x>yers at this game, so Im definitely folding when im way behind.

The two sessions I had at 30/60 were filled with fish, and the first session I could not hit a hand when it counted, and lost 700, but made 600 back when I came back later, and the game was smaller(Razz is more profitable when the game is short handed rather then long handed, because 4 pla<x>yers to 4th street is just a crapshoot really, and I was faring terribly in them, lee would just not hook me up. I came so close to winning my first 1k pot, I almost threw up.

anyways cliffnotes are, learn razz there is so much dead money in this game, and its a fun game if you are sick of grinding cash games or nlhe tournaments. Its also the easiest game to pick up(other than triple draw but triple draw will make you want to cut your wrists).

=)

"Player A was check calling and player B was just betting at it. Why the hell wouldnt player A raise"

He had a read on this guy, he knew that if he bet or raised the guy would fold = stop betting = no more free monies.
