Just kidding! It was a trap!

As I'm sure a few of you are aware I recently posted a rather embarrassing whine blog, my apologies to those it annoyed. It was a moment of frustration borne out of losing a significant portion of my roll through short-term EV. Many will simply state you shouldn't play with a short roll in PLO but I've firmly come to believe that escaping the rake trap is far more important than prolonging ones stay at low stakes with rigid BR management.

So here's the simple storyline. I've had 1k trapped on FTP for ages, the vast majority of my online roll. I've also had 150 on Pokerstars just sitting there untouched since Black Friday happened. I've always wanted to return to poker but for whatever reason made excuses not to. I had trouble committing real time to working on my game and had always been just a casual grinder. That much is self-evident in my 175k hands played over the last 4-5 years. I played 20k hands in February in addition to my full-time job. I started by 1-tabling at PLO50 and eventually I was 8-10 tabling with around 1750 in my roll. I was running about even on EV until short-term variance struck. I ran very cold for an extended streak of 3-bet pots and all-in pots. Anyone who plays PLO is bound to know when you start getting badly out-flopped after 3-betting 20% of your stack it's trouble. The variance hit hard and my roll is down to a pithy 350. Some will ask, why didn't you just move down? Well I've always considered my bankroll to the combined amount from my FTP frozen funds and what's left on Pokerstars. Similar to how players on multiple sites think of their bankroll as one unit rather than small chunks.

I mostly believe my mistake was allowing myself to play more than 2-4 tables before escaping the rake trap. All I did was encourage variance to slap me in the face and reduce my edge in the games. This was utter foolishness and for the most part I got what I deserved for my over-aggressive attempt.

What I'm looking to do now is to consolidate my bankroll. I'm looking to gain early access to my 1k stuck on FTP by having someone transfer me 1k on stars. I have a long posting history and no blemishes on my LP record. There are players from this site who know me in real life who can vouch for me if need be. If FTP does not eventually pay me the 1k to forward to whoever helps me out I will simply pay the 1k myself. If anyone is willing to help me out with this please PM me immediately.

Thanks in advance

Isn't FTP money worth about 20c on the dollar atm?

He isn't trying to sell, he's asking for a loan.

I think given the way things have moved along we will see our FTP money eventually. Rather than sell my money for 20 cents on the dollar I'd rather see my money in full and offer whoever buys the guarantee that I will pay the 1k myself if FTP doesn't come through. I think this is more than reasonable. It's no less risk than someone buying my FTP money for 20 cents on the dollar. In fact I've been wondering for a while when the shit will hit the fan with all the scammers if FTP does pay. Similar to that movie "The Producers" where they take too many investors banking that their show won't get past opening night. How many out there have sold their money to multiple people and are planning to just disappear/not pay?

I'm sure your intentions are noble but not many people are gonna loan you 1k on good faith, as a stake or with some vig then perhaps, gl anyway!

I don't think I'm asking much. The route I'm suggesting is less risk than someone putting me on a stake or buying my FTP funds outright for x cents on the dollar. I've been a member of LP for over 7 years with no blemishes to my reputation and over 6k posts. It's not like my grand plan was to scam someone out of 1k roflmao. I just want to consolidate my bankroll in advance. When FTP pays they will get the money. If FTP doesn't pay, they'll still get the money. Seems fair to me.

Your basically asking a stranger for an interest free loan with no guarantee of repayment other than you word. Finance FAIL. If we have learned anything in the past year, sadly, it is to not trust anyone in the poker world.

YA I TALK SHIT, GOTTA DEFECATE TO CONVERSATE

Okay, and what are people doing who stake other individuals based on reputation/buying up FTP money for x cents on the dollar on the "word" that the person will actually send the money if FTP recovers?

Pretty damn sure I didn't just post on LP over the last 7 years so that I could scam 1k out of another long-time poster. What I'm asking for isn't a loan. It's a cash advance. Help me get access to my bankroll stuck on FTP so I don't have to wait another six months. Is it a favour that involves some risk, sure it is. However I think 6k+ posts and 7 years on this site is enough time for people to realize I'm not scamming someone over 1k. If I was asking for 10k+ or something then I think everyone would have good reason to be wary. The amount of 1k, quite a different story. That's just my take on it. If nobody wants to help a long-time LP player out that's fine. Frankly though if you're not interested just stay out of my blog. Nobody needs the annoying negative comments you make on everything.
