Woo hoo!

Won the award the first week of the season 2 years ago, then 2 weeks later blew out my arm and took 2 years off to rehab. Feels great to be back!!!

Had a no-hitter going through 7 in a 7 inning game, first guy in the 7th walked, next guy got a basehit in the hole created by the 1st baseman holding the runner on. Dammit! I've been kicking myself for that since saturday.

70:22 strike to ball ratio, 13 K's...God I've missed this feeling. So glad to be playing baseball again!!!

I've already got it figured out. Unbeknownst to the Yankees, the Rangers see them as rivals for what happened in the late 1990's (going 1-9 in the first round in '96, '98, and '99). If somehow I do make it, and I play for the yankees, I'm taking them out from the inside since I will always be a Rangers fan (grew up about 3 miles south of the stadium.)

Photoshopped pics of Jeter and A-Rod slappin uglies in the clubhouse shower got leaked? Oops. Mariano Rivera doing a line of coke with Teixeira? Hmmm dunno how that got out...

I'll ruin the franchise and bankrupt them. I hate them.

I love this pic... taken by my sis, an aspiring photographer.

I wanna congratulate you, but I find baseball a really boring spot. However I find deadlifts entertaining, so I'm in no place to judge . What happened to your arm that it took 2 years to rehab?

In response to nearly everyone:

I had Elbow Reconstructive Surgery, more commonly known as Tommy John. Basically, the Ulnar Collateral Ligament in the elbow is the only ligament and holds the ulna and the humerus bones together. If you look close enough on my right elbow, you can see the scar which is roughly 2 inches long. I had nearly a complete tear. The ligament makes a "V" and my tear was on the distal, skinny end of the ligament where there isn't much blood going, making it harder to heal on its own. My doctor is the head doctor for the Texas Rangers (and I would recommend him for anything, he's amazing) and he said he has seen some 90% tears on the more broad side fully heal in 6 weeks because of the blood flow that area gets. Unfortunately for me, the torn ligament didn't heal in six weeks, and in May 2010, I had Tommy John.

One in nine major league pitchers has had the Tommy John surgery. It's a very common injury that until the 1970's ended careers. Once you blew it out, it was done. The surgery, invented by Dr. Frank Jobe, take a tendon in your wrist, drills holes in your Ulna and Humerus, and ties is back together in a figure 8. It takes 1 year of rehabilitation and another year of throwing again until the pitcher has fully 100% back. The surgery has a 90% success rate (success being throwing with the same velocity before surgery), but most come back throwing harder.

In my one-hit bid, I topped out at 88 (ironically it was the pitch the guy got a base hit on), but in October 2009 I hit 90. The consistency is still there, mid 80's, so I am content and consider this a success.

My doctor has performed over 800 Tommy John procedures before me, which shows how common it is. Here is a list of major league players that have had the surgery, some of them multiple times.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Jo...all_players_who_underwent_the_surgery

Some that are notable are Kerry Wood, Joba Chamberlain, Stephen Strasburg, Eric Gagne (consecutive saves leader), John Smoltz, CJ Wilson, Jaime Garcia, Adam Wainwright, Billy Wagner, Chris Carpernter, AJ Burnett, Tommy John (obv, the first TJ surgery ever, operation was successful and named after him)

...And Josh Hamilton missed 3 years, in that time blew $5,000,000 on coke and crack, almost died, didn't play for 3 years, but came back and won the 2010 AL MVP Anything can happen!
