After running like god last session where i played 20 tables for the first time on my tiny 15" laptop, tonight i just ran like shit.
Several problems:
-Internet #@$#@$@ died on me 3 times.
-Spewing too much, no more luckboxing
-calling river made draw WAY too much (holy crap i have to kick myself)
Side note:
-Last minute studies for final tomorrow.
After that its 1month of pure grinding GG. Time to kill the tables.
What a weekend it was. I had a blast. I got in the best runs I have ever had snowboarding too. I already did a recap of the first day I was there so I do one on the last day.
My little cousin woke me up pretty early around 830. He was really excited because is snowed a shitload that night and he wanted to be one of the first people on the hills and so did I. I got up, grabbed a quick shower + a bowl of cereal and left for the hills with him and my bro.
We got to the hill around 930ish and it was pretty dead for a Satuday. We took the Gondola up and my brother said he wanted to do a lot of glade runs right now because all the trails would be untouched. For those who dont know glade runs are runs through areas with lots of trees instead of an open hill. This was a great idea and Im so glad he came up with it. Most of the runs through the trees a double black diamond so I was a little nervous because its been a while since Ive been snowboarding through the trees. Its a nice challange because its really tight in there and the snows so deep that if you stop your fucked so you gotta keep a good pace without running into a tree lol. This was the first time I had ever been through a run that had been untouched. We were the first ones through the area we were snowboarding in... it was amazing just carving through the powder. I ended up falling once to avoid a tree... it honestly took me 15 minutes to get up because the snow was so deep. I would put my hands back to try and push myself up but my arms would just sink into the snow. I had to shimmy over to a tree to pull myself up lol. We rode all which there is until 330. They dont have night skiing there. Im not sure why but If they did they would make so much more money imo.
We had a nice early christmas dinner with the entire family that day too. Turkey, stuffing, pie the whole deal. It was really good and I stuffed my face... probably ate a bit to much lol. After that we all opened up presents too. My aunt and uncle baught my lift tickets for the weekend as my present. They go for $79 a day so I was glad I didnt have to pay that. As for my rents... they are paying for me to go to school so I was fine with not getting anything from them lol.
That night they had this 24hr Ski for Cancer thing going on. People started skiing at noon that day and were going until noon today. Since this was going on they had a bunch of bands playing at night. I went down to the village to check it out.... wasnt overly impressed with the bands but it was still fun. Here are the bands that played:
Creature - who the fuck? terrible band.
Kane - Some french band... might have been alright if I spoke french but i didnt understand shit
Mobile - This band was actually really good. You guys have probably heard some of there songs on some of the EA sports games and stuff.
Hedley - This was the biggest band there but also they gayest. These guys are serious fags. You should have seen what they were wearing and plus they are all skinny no talent queers. I could play there shit on my guitar in my sleep. There fan base consists of a million 13 year old girls. That is what there audience was... a million little girls screaming... needless to say I didnt stay until the end of there set.
It was a really great weekend and I had a blast. Glad I got to ride this year because I probably wont get to do so very mcuh this winter since Im going to be going to school and there isnt a Mt. anywhere near London.
Im pretty tired right now... 8hr drive home sucked balls lol. Probably just going to crash and get up early tomorrow and murder the gym. Ill put up a few of the pics I took on the trip soon. I didnt get many because my fucking camera died the one day I was out on the hills. I was pissed because I would have had some amazing photos. Oh well Ill get over it.
I hope everyone had a great weekend on and off the tables.
So I really want to be an all around poker player and I feel my cash game is pretty good right now. I've been playing a lot of freerolls and FPP buy-in tournaments to try and get better, but I always seem to get stuck.
I'm either too tight or too loose and I never seem to be able to get the right mix.
Has anyone else had this problem where you just seem like you can never build a stack and you're always playing in a tournament and NEEDING to shove steal the blinds for your 5 BB stacks?
I played in four $4 180SNGs earlier and bustoed out of them all around the 70th place mark. Gonna try a couple more...
Well just yesterday morning, I was barely bankrolled for 5NL. However, I am now comfortably banked rolled for 10NL. My 'Money Won' graph can be seen below:
Is it normal for non show down hands to be that costly? Anyway, as mentioned in my very first blog I had a few very costly leaks in my game.
*I was not protecting my high cards well enough pre-flop and on the flop; and also
*I was discouraging multi-way pots with awesome draw cards.
Well after reading a bit more into the problem, and learning what hole cards were good multi-way and what were only good vs one or two players, I found that my poker at 5NL significantly improved (as can be seen from the chart above) and also it allowed me to comfortably open more hands depending on the situation.
I've also started to experiment with KXs, which I have found profitable after referring back to my stats in PT - especially in those passive games where a lot of people tend to limp pre-flop and bet minimal amounts post flop. I have also opened up my 3bet range for pre-flop play, however from some comments in my hand history, I can see that I still need to slightly widen it.
However, I know that I am definitely still making huge costly errors in my game. So many instances where I have flopped the best hand in a multi-way pot yet I fold them on the turn/river to mediocre bets. And example might include:
I hold TcJc & the flop comes out 7h8h9h. And it could be a four way pot. Everyone bet 10 cents. The flop then comes out say As and everyone bets 10 cents again. And suddenly the river comes out as a 2d. And suddenly some one is betting just under half pot for the river and then I'd fold, and the aggressor shows Ac9d [two pairs]. Should I be re-raising the flop? Similar, situations like these occur especially on scary boards.
I think my main goal over next few days, weeks, or however long it takes will be to work on valuing my hands more correctly given the situation. Its just frustrating when you know that you were tricked into folding the best hand.
And also, I have started to read a little into how to deal with one of my pet peeves - SHORT STACKERS. Because I know they are all in 10NL. Yes, I agree that there are short stackers in every blind, but relatively, 10NL is the worst [a substantial amount of them sit with 20BB]. And from what I have been reading from various articles, it is basically shove them, before they shove you, and not to be afraid to call with mediocre holdings.
Well that's enough ranting from me, and enough poker for me for the next day or two as I have a finance exam to study for - how bothersome.
GL to fellow grinders.
PS When a fellow LP player reraises your reraise, give him some respect as he probably is holding AA in 5NL preflop. Dam you
just misclick called a shove with AJo (at least I had a good hand!) in the 650 pca sat, saw villain had 22 and thoguht I luckboxed but then I realized someone also called in the BB with AK
Yesterday, the 13th of December, I finally had some decent success in a live tournament. I played a side event at EPT Prague, it was a 1,000 euro freezeout, 169 players participated and I took the 3rd place and the prize of 16,400 euro (~$21,320).
I am pretty happy about it of course. It was I think my 7th bigger live tournament so far and I only cashed once before and it was just the minimum prize, so I quite needed some solid result finally.
I think I played quite well during the tourney, but also had a lot of luck. And the field was really really soft, probably softest I ever experienced in a 1k+ buyin tourney. I think I could have ended up winning it because I feel I was the most experienced player in the last 3, but with the structure being quite fast there wasnt much space for any postflop play and 1 preflop allin decided my final fate - my A8 lost to A4 when I was second in chips just barely behind the chipleader.
So for the fucking 3rd time in 2 days I'll this again. I've accidently closed Firefox while updating my blog (TWICE).
Anyways 4 years ago I was at my best girl-friends My best (girl)friend and myself http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/ute%20-07%20006.JPG
graduation party we took a bag in box (wine cooler) and hung it in the ceiling and sang Bag in da box och thailändska pojkar - when translated Bag in da box and thai boys (which is a supporter chorus in swedish football - not the bag in box part ofcourse)
So anyways before the summer holidays two friends of mine made a song and a video and it got pretty big and they got signed by warner music.
Note to self, this is not a serious video or song - its basically an inside joke.
Bag in da Box - The first video released before they got signed
So they decided to make a christmas song, which they released on youtube a few days ago. The video is even worse than the one before, but its more of an inside joke as I said.
Xmas Tree - Official Video - 20 secs in is my kitchen, 3 mins is my hall and living room
Acoustic version of Xmas Tree on the Radio in Sweden - the guy with the hat is one of my roommates
Other than that I've been learning alot of stuff at work about motivation theories, coaching individuals etc.
I thought I would post some pics from the past month, about 3 weeks ago I was at Diesel (a jeans band for you ignorant people) since my roommate is a photographer www.oscar-photo.com (and
is one of the guys in the Bag in da Box / X-mas Tree video) made Diesels new campaign in Malmö. So a bunch of my friends went to Diesel to celebrate it and what not. Here are some pics of
friends:
So I'm gonna start rowing (CREW) again, since I used to be pretty decent at that and my old team-mate is on his way in the national team. Im really looking forward to this!
Last but not least Pokerwise, havent been playing any at all. I cashed out some money throughout October. I'll deposit again when I feel like grinding again. Oh and I used to sing, or I still do, I play some guitar, drums and piano too. But im actually gonna record a rap/electro tune soon - which should be pretty sick.
Random pics of my (new) apartment for those of you who havent seen it:
A big hello to Fahid (fazi), Jocke (hansen), Jonni (Gummi), Simon (sOah), Erik (pinbaLL), Dav (ggplz), Richard (rikd), and all you other people that keep me company on msn.
Waste all this time trying to create an account on a new site with a no deposit bonus and at the very end they go "Oops, sry ur american, lolz, made u work for nothing!" I tried through pokerstrategy.com to get free money on FTP and even though FTP takes americans they still shat on my head. It sux cause now I made an account on FTP with a bonus code that is worthless AND I can't ever make another account there and get any benefits like rakeback. GAY.
I was hoping to get a free deposit bonus going on one of these sites and see how quickly I could build up a roll. Do a kind of experiment... how quickly can I start with nothing and build a real BR?
Oh well, being an american in the online poker world sux right now. Get rid of the UIGEA one time!
Played ~ 450 hands of NL100 HU 1tbaling today
well semi happy with results.
I ended + 27$ which is like 2.8 BB/100 + i made 21.34$ of FPP sng again. ( score pretty good in them winning 9/12 so far) Overal + 48.20$ today
+ 349$ last 3 days in 1,6K hands of NL 100
main reason that my todays score is kinda tiny is that i run into a bad regular (TaylorCaby) who had Godmode on
+ i lost another hand vs him where i had a flush vs his flopped FH ....
I quit that match after being down 280$ to him ;(
Normally i would have kept on playing him since i think i was clearly the better player of us 2
However i stopped for the reason that on some days some persons just run like God and the will continue to run liek god no matter what.
So i acceptet defeat by Variance and moved on to the next bad regular named teekki http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/588308 <---- omg what a bad reg ;( unfortunately he quit after i took 200 of him.
besides that some bum hunting with medicore sucess since i simply run slighty bad today.
GL ALL
Edit
Funny how tableratings says i lost -224$ today in 190 hands.
ah i see teekki is not even in my villian list there ;(
