Don't feel like making a thread cause i just need to know a good DVD player to install in my pc. WMP blows tbh so if you could name a few decent dvd players that are free would be very appreciated.
Also, i'll ship $5 on stars/ftp to whoever tells me what is the name of the intro of the video, i love those type of songs in latin, specially Era.
so after a very quick run at NL10 I picked up 10 buy-ins over 6 hours.
I then took my shot at NL25 after studying earlier and ran well. There was a supernova on one of my tables but he was a very solid TAG and I had position on him, so I chose to stay cause the rest were fishes. I clashed in about two hands with in and won both pots.
Then he proceeded to crush the rest of the table and got 200 bb deep (like me after stacking him once) so I decided I'd call it quits and end my session.
Here I'm going to post three hands and comment on them (something which I will try and do more of in the future, esp the ones where I lose).

Hand 3. This is where I stacked that NL25 Supernova. I can't believe he had balls to shove JJ into me with a queen showing, I was running a solid game and did not look spewy at all even!
Hand 2. Here I stack off with a PP+oesd against a 71/7~ fish or something like that.
I think essentially my hand is only an OESD because my set outs will not always be clean. In the future I think I will opt to just take the cheap draw instead and draw only to the straight.
Hand 1. This happens after hand 3 takes place (HH posted in weird order didn't feel like fixing it) and I think he's trying to make a move on me or something and he drops out after I 3 bet him on the flop.
I feel like I'm picking way better spots to cbet now and I'm really putting ranges on villains before doing so rather than just mindlessly cbetting 70% of flops without regard to texture. My non-sd winnings are a positive this session which is good. Before I became a thinking player my non-sd winnings were on a negative trend. So I feel a lot better about my game and hope to keep improving it and finally roll through NL25 and move up to NL50 this time
Also my cousin finally replied to me when I told him about the possible upcoming Swedish poker ban. He is not too worried with it and will only deal with it when it happens.
I do hope he comes back to the States soon, I feel I have so much to learn from him now by watching his sessions and possibly have him watch over mine and commenting. When I first saw him play, I was just introduced to poker and was amazed at just watching the hundreds and hundreds of dollars flying around his tables.
Should have stopped @ hand 2k lol. Doing bad because of a combination of bad beats but mostly sucking. I need to get used to 10NL faster. Shorter stacks = more variance i guess?
Also i need to stop flipping with shortstacks if i suck at it. ok.
Came 9th in todays event so I qualified for the final one on Sunday . Won a sunday package worth $430 tourney dollars for reaching the FT so ill try to sell them and go straight to NL50, got to the final table and decided to just play it hard and fast as it was the same prize for 9th and 2nd, oh well. Anyone else qualified for the sunday event? I saw many people signed up for these tournies but not seen a lot there. My housemate won a seat (+2nd step ticket) in the first satellite so grats to him too
Live tourney tonight - need advice.by TheHuHu3, December 18
Playing a $125 deepstacked tournament tonight. We'll start off with 8,000 in chips and blinds will probably start at 25/50 with either 15-20 minute rounds. Usually these tournaments start with 2,000 so this is a dramatic boost.
What goes up... must come downby EXCELED, December 18
Everytime I run really well for a day or two it seems like I have a nice downswing that takes me back to where I was before the upper happend. I ran super hott a couple of days ago and made 200BB. The tables were amazing and I was running amazing too. But like the title says what goes up... must come down. I managed to go on my biggest downswing at this limit so far. I lost about 165 BB in 2.5k hands. I actually think this time I got a bit tilted and spewed alot more... but I mean... the hands were suited right? lol.
Anyways after having that shitty downswing I managed to get back on track this morning and get the graph going up instead of down lol. This morning I probably made around 45BB before my internet hit the shitter. I was laggy like crazy and thats just not something you want when you are playing 7 tables so I had to quit. I was planning on hitting my 5000 FPP point mark today and making some more progress towards getting GoldStar but I cant so that sucks. I only need 1070 VPP points until GoldStar. Im not really sure how many hands that is so if someone could tell me I would really appreciate it. I play .5/1 6 Max LHE.
Today Im going ot head down to London with my buddy and paint my room. Right now my room in London is a light blue which is the same as my house right now. The only problem with it is there are palm trees painted around the windows lol. So Im oging to fix that right up lol. Its probably only going to need one coat b/c I am painting it the same colour that it already is.
18 more days until I move out! WOOOOOO. Anyways I should get going I heard theres a good snowstorm rolling in so I want to try and get to London before it gets bad outside.
Good luck grinding today everyone and GOGO LPers in the 5 Diamond 15k.
I decided to "cashout" from the hungarian poker community, and try to find a new "home", or at least some people how think open minded about poker.
Sorry about my english, and that's another reason to say goodbye to my home country's players: I would like to develop my english at least a little bit. OK, the main reason is that I had enough from players who doesn't even read my hand analysis, they just write a few lines about what they would do in that situation, without reasoning, etc. etc. And when we disagree, and I try to explain my thought process, I seldom receive any satisfying answer.
So here I am, coaching a few micro stakes players at the moment, thinking about poker constantly, and playing on NL50/100 6max regularly.
I took a shot at the HU cashgames in november/december, ended up losing all of my HU profit because of the biggest losing streak of my life (which includes bad beats and bad plays also), but I guess I made some progress on tilt control/postflop skill/variance-tolerance, so it wasn't totally worthless.
I'm looking forward to get into the liquidpoker community soon - god that was so lame official.
short introduction: (just for the sake of... whatever
I'm 22 years old, first played poker exactly one year ago, and as a student, living from the profit since (so I have to cashout a decent amount every month - that's why I'm still playing on NL50/100).
I'm playing the guitar/drums, I have less and less friends because of poker, and after grinding out a whole week, I always have a strange urge to invite everybody and set up the funeral of my (later non-existent) creativity.
Haven't blogged since the end of October, so it's about time now. Middle of the month, so there shouldn't be too many blogs right now!
I've been doing real well in cashgames and not so much in tourneys since my last blog. I'm pertaining a really good winrate for FR and moved up to NL400 as well as staying at NL200, though I could play more tables. I'm generally playing around 8-13 now. Anyway, enough talk, on to the graphs and stats since Aug 08. http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/8605/graphsandstatsew1.jpg
Really sick start to my day, probably going to be devastated and get raped when I take my nl25 shot in an hour or so, but I will make a happy-blog post for now!
I picked up some hands..and they held.. mostly. It was awesome! I played some people like banjo's, got really lucky vs one guy who made a sick bad play (flat AA to 3bet 2BI deep, I had KK flopped a set, he was a monkey and happy to get all-in on the turn).
I looked at my session stats and said what the fuck? I might need to tone it down a little bit. Otherwise, I'm still focusing on my postflop play and I think its been a good improvement so far..
(I was playing 3/4 handed at a table for a lot of this session tho, trying to get in a lot of hands while I was 4BI deep vs a fish who covered me)
So since last bloggy post I've been mostly playing nl100 on party, along with 2 failed shots at nl200 (-500 both) and -200 and PLO. The results for 100 nl are ok, like 11 or 12bb/100 but I'm quite unhappy with my play lately. It seems that my play is just off and I cant seem to get it back on track, but I hope that christmas holidays at lapland (ie. a break from poker) will help. Of course it is postive in a way that even when tiltspewing I still do fine -_-. I'm also planning to move from party to martinspoker because of the downswing USD is in currently. Sucks pretty bad to have hourly rate go down 30% just because of USD. But will be hard to get used to martinspoker, both software and lack of hud stats ;/
I could write more but blah, its not like anyone would read blogs, everyone just checks graphs ^^
I've never had sight problems until the past couple of years. Before that i played video games for 10+ years since i was little. But now i have to wear eyeglasses when i am in school. The scary thing is i can physically FEEL my eyesight getting worse.
For those of you with godly eyesight out there, how do you sustain it?
okay off to a 2.5hr session now. Maybe i'll try some 10NL.
Multiple Barrels - Suicide?by TedHastings, December 18
At a level like 25nl where everyone is super stationy and bullshit, is there ever any point to trying to put someone off a hand even if you can tell they have something super marginal? Here is a hand for discussion: + Show Spoiler +

In this hand because of playing with the guy for a while and the way he acted I knew he had a ten. Against a reasonable player I might bet all three streets to get him off this marginal holding. I have found 25nl players to be crazy stationy though so I rarely make this move. Do you guys agree that giving up is the best play even when I know the opponent is weak?
