Well things had been going really well for me for the past month. I was running really well and putting in a ton of hands. Yesterday though it came to a crashing hault! I managed to dump almost all of my profits in March in one day. FML. I can honestly say that I wasnt playing bad but the coolers I was getting were rediculous! All I wanted was to get back to even but I could not get it going to save my life. I ran aces full into quads, and had set over set 3 times! KK vs AA, KK cracked by 44... jus some gross shit. Heres the graph:
This was really discouraging and happened at the worst time. I cashed out what was left of my roll which I was planning on doing anyways. Sadly though my roll was not at what I wanted it to be so now my deposit bonus is not going to be as big on the new site Im switching too but I will also have rakeback to go along with it so I guess its not too bad lol. Im going to drop down to NL10 and just grind back what I lost before moving up to NL25 again. Not what I want to do but its what I gotta do.
So its back to NL10 uggghhhh. I should be at NL50 if I didnt make so many withdrawls in March but thats the way she goes someitmes. Im hoping to be on my new site by Friday and get grinding. So much for being on pace for a 2k month. April will maybe be 1k if Im lucky.

played very well except one spew at the end of the session which is tilt tbh. Rest of the time i was just making great plays getting my money in ahead and getting sucked out over and over. Doing stuff like flatting AK to induce a squeeze then 4betting and getting it AIPF vs QK against some nit reg, ofc Qrag flop but whatever.
BR is now at $909 and im underrolled for nl50, sick as fuck session i really didnt need this shit just as i try and move up. Whatever.
Total Hours Played: 2.5
Total Hands Played: 3805
Total Profit: $490.5
Bankroll: $3,585
I'm going to start with those four stats for every challenge update from now on. Was only able to play for 2.5 hours on April 1, played around 3750 hands, ran pretty good:
I'm sorry but I don't want to be an Emperor - that's not my business - I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that.
We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful.
But we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say "Do not despair".
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die and the power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as men die, liberty will never perish...
Soldiers - don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you - who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, use you as cannon fodder.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate - only the unloved hate. Only the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers - don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty.
In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written " the kingdom of God is within man " - not one man, nor a group of men - but in all men - in you, the people.
You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let's use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfill their promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.
Soldiers - in the name of democracy, let us all unite!
Like most of you I found my way here instead of the Deuces because of TL.net. I never had an account, just lurked because I liked SC strategy (I have the micro of a 73-old though). I haven't been back really since I started poker seriously last summer. For some reason I decided to search "poker" there tonight and read the threads. Obviously they're hilarious, but it begs the question: Why don't more TL people make use of LP and win monies? I mean I remember being suspicious of the "shady" online poker site that generated a link everytime someone typed "poker" and the get rich quick stories that Tl-to-LP graduates told, but after checking it out I realized that there were just a bunch of nice people sharing incredibly valuable secrets with me simply because I signed up for their website (thx btw). I guess this would do better over there, but I don't have an account, so you guys tell me, why aren't more TL people hitting us up for poker know-how?
a while back sitngo and MTT tournaments were my bread and butter. i now rarely play tournament style poker but when i found out about possibly going to monte carlo i decided to throw some in during my sesions to sharpen up on tournament play
so ive been playing micro limits for the most part (1 dollar or less and up to 50 bucks).
had some varied results........for the most part accumulating chips wasnt so hard but staying focused for so long definitely was. going to keep going at it
Cashing out living expenses, and not grinding enough every month is making this really difficult. I'm trying to live off of $2k a month in cashouts though I didnt have close to that for March, and ended up more less living off of my credit cards, but I just got back on track in the last week, and got my bankroll back up to $2k which is where I feel comfortable with cashing out $1k, so a cheque is on its way.
What I really need is a good combination of grinding like a mofo all April and run godly, while never tilting. Hit a nice break even stretch in March mostly due to suckouts but compounded by tilty plays and just stacking off lighter in the middle of bad sessions. After reviewing my sessions, I realized that a lot of the losing ones could have easily been winning ones of +4buyins or so.
25NL is just such an easy limit to beat and I'm capable of making a really nice hourly rate there that I should be able to get a bit of a bankroll surplus in April. I really dont want to have to cash in any FPP's to do this as I am chasing supernova this year and am hoping to hold out for a bigger score. Right now I have about 50k in fpps. Clearly, cashing in FPP's for the greatest return possible is +EV but if cashing out now and taking a $650 bonus helps facilitate a succesful move up to NL50 this month, then perhaps that is the way I should go because I'm pretty sure I can beat NL50 so long as I am able to handle the swings and the move would certainly speed up my chase for supernova.
I was beating NL50 back in January for about 2ptbb/100 but decided the variance probably caused mostly by tilt wasnt worth it because I was beating NL25 for 5ptbb/100. Might have been a bad choice. Who knows I might have been owning NL100 by now, but perhaps not.
Whatever the case, I have worked on my game a lot, and plugged some leaks by going through my DB in PT3 and running a lot of reports to find out what situations I'm losing money in.
So I blog about how I run bad sometimes. Well sometimes I run good too, so I'll tell you about that. +4bi in 700 hands at nl100 today. Basically just hitting two outers like it was my job, getting AA in v KK bvb, and making the effective nuts against fish. I ran +200 in all in EV, but that doesn't count the time I rivered a J on 98xx vs a reg who thinks I'm FOS and had QQ.
Please more comment on this hand. Two pair is usually the nuts in 3bets, but I got my squeeze called in two spots, and they have to know AK is a huge part of my range, so if I bet, do I b/f (Depending on which one raises) do I b/c (99,KK, AA raises?) or do I just try and check it down because this board hits my range so hard that no one will bluff. Both villains seem thinking, so I think they're aware that I have a straight or set like 70% of the time here

Today is the first day of april, and after using 4k fpps to get 64 bucks, I began my first adventure into nl100. My first hand was complete spew, but I wanted to see if these people would crack under aggression.
Anyways, the rest of the hands I played were pretty good, I coolered a few people and ran like god. So far so good, but it's only been 600 hands, and nothing indicative of anything, only that I run good.
Also, it's been real fun to play nl100 as i've been only 4 tabling, but definitely am looking towards 9 tabling and then 12 tabling as i get more and more comfortable with the limit. Still taking things slowly, but so far so good.
starting great, fold button is broken again and im just spewing and spweing FUCK i coulda saved so much money y just pressing a little button called FOLD. well now its too late anyway fuck that
I'm such an idiot; this is by far the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life.
I sat down at my NL100 tables as usual and a random bought in for about $80 and some change, so of course I figured he was a fish. He basically would raise any bet I made roughly half the time, would 3bet me like every three hands, and he also pretty much never folded to 3bets. Basically, he was a huge high variance fish, but I think I was waaaaay +EV in this match-up because he was ridiculously spewy.
I wasn't really catching any cards, so he got up to even stacks with me, and then this hand happened.

Hold_emNL: hey wanna move up?
edzwoo: move up?
Hold_emNL: yea lets go play 25/50
edzwoo: sorry, I only have about 3k right now
Hold_emNL: figures fish
Obv that tilted me a bit so I asked him first to sit down at a table, and he did, straight up $5000.
Now the reason I'm an idiot is because he bought in for $80 and change at my table, but now he suddenly has $5000. I mean either he just made some sick tilt deposit right now or he's trying to hustle me. I mean why would he buy-in for $80 and change if he actually had $5000? I didn't put any thought into it, and didn't even think about variance and sat in at the table.
I only played 4 hands with him. He won the first three hands because he just 3bet me twice and I had trash as the BB. Here's the last hand:
