So I think I can beat 200 nl for a sustainable winrate, probably 3 pt bb by now... I wanna get to the next level and really start to become a poker player.

i'm thinking about getting lessons from someone, i'm thinking maybe straate or talentedtom or even like nazgul. just someone who i know is really freakin good, i think an hour or two would really open my eyes and take me to 400 nl and up.

I also know Iamalex beats midstakes pretty well lately on FTP, i'm friends with him and might ask him as well... I asked him b4 and I think thats why I can finally beat 200 nl is cause i learned a lot of things from that lesson... overall i'd say lessons are probably great value for what you pay.

I've been out of the poker scene for about 2 months. I had to make a cashout, and I decided to take a break from poker.

With summer coming up, I'm willing to start poker again from the basics, .01/.02 6max.

For the time that I've been away, I've been reading the low stakes forum, so I'm not completely out of the poker mindset.

Before I stopped playing, I was winning on 25nl FR, and made $400 in my last 2 weeks of playing.

I also received a free full version of pokertracker, which I will be using to my advantage.

I'm very excited to start again.

i woke up this morning to the intestinal vengeance of 8 beers and a whataburger midnight snack. i sat on the toilet for what felt like ages before finally passing a big greasy log. sweet relief.

but wait, what is this? out of toilet paper?!

i reach above my head and back into the cabinet, without looking, to retrieve another roll of toilet paper. en route, my arm brushes against my deodorant. it wobbles, tips, and falls.

i would say between my naked ass and the seat, we had a good 80% of the water covered. of course, my deodorant somehow manages to magically soar over my head and between my legs before landing with a satisfying splash next to my colossal greasy shit.

little did i know that this mornings bathroom experience foreshadowed this afternoon's poker experience.

ive come to a conclusion, and that is that God wants me to play NL 25 forever. Whenever I move down to 25, I do really well, and crush the stakes. At NL 50, the players are almost identical, yet as soon as I move up my roll starts sliding back down. stagnation is the name of the game.

i think if i played more it wouldn't be such an issue. I mean, playing 15k hands per month is fine but it doesnt exactly rake in the big bucks.

i feel that i'm playing fine and the limit is beatable. there's just nothing i can do without cards, you know?

So I just cashed out a $1,500 and left myself back on NL10 with just under $200. Going up to the casino next week, wanna have a nice amount to be able to play fearless *not stupid, but fearless =)*

I also have some important bills I gotta pay too *have a warrant out for my arrest because of a speeding ticket, I gotta get this paid ASAP.., some other stupid random shit I gotta take care of too*

Going to be playing here and there on stars as well, just working back to NL25 so I can have some meaningful sessions where I can win some real money online again too.

Had a nice week last week and won alot, mostly a very slow grind + a 1 hour heater that won me a very nice chunck of change.

So during the next week I'm sure most of you won't see much of me, but I will still be on the forums daily and on stars a little as well. Hoping to have a very successful trip to the casino, most of the players up there will make mistakes all night to capitalize on. Just need to bring My A Game and I should be fine.

If the trip doesn't go as expected during day 1 & 2 I'll be back in Pittsburgh and redoposit my roll and re-start online poker again. Just feelin the need for a casino environment, probably due to all the WSOP things happening, as well as my addiction to HSP S1-3 ^^

Well, thats about it for todays blog, I'm gonna sit back n get baked as hell today. Maybe some $5R's and $3R's for fun.

Played whole day, won like 4 buy-ins then i turned on pokerstars got sucked out once, and went on tilt making hero calls with bottom pairs for stacks vs nits :D ended down for the day and feeling very stupid. I am already tired of 200nl seems i am stuck there forever =[. Not improving anymore, don't know why.. winning very poor just like 1/2bb/100, and playing like a nit after past few month donwswing. And this is pissing me off, have last exam on saturday and then i hope to get involved in poker fully.

Running 16/12 really sucks and it seems i can't loosen up while 8 tabling since i start lossing, so no clue what to do, i don't feel like playing less tables, because i find it very borring.
I am hoping to run atleast decently this month, and to finnally reach like 14$K and move to 400nl(sounds impossible). But most likely i will be crushed here, cuz simply i suck, but somehow i have to move up since i am lossing my motivation at 200nl =[
I split my roll to PS and PP, i have been running better than the last monthes but still playing poor and not winning too much, my total br now is like 10700, while it was 11.5K few minutes ago.
MY stats on PS, the software is great, but i will quit pokerstars when i will save 75K FPP for TV, and put all the money in some site to move to 400nl, still need to win atleast 3-4K before that, sound that will take quite a lot time for nit like me =[

It seems i can only make blog posts only when i am lossing or feeling down, when i am winning i don't bother making posts, i should stop doing that since it looks really stupid.
Atleast i had a nice weekend near the sea, looking forward for my next visit there.

Well, yesterday didn't quite erase the monstrosity that was my Monday, but it was a good start. Just played very, very solid poker back at NL $200, and made out well:

I really think I'm capable of a long-term winrate at NL $200 close to this as long as I play my A-game and don't do anything stupid. I managed this big night despite being bad beat on the river in two huge pots, both all-in on the turn with me as an overwhelming favorite.

Ugh. Misclicked PF, then didn't mind so much when I saw that beautiful flop. Matt almost never has KT on the turn, so that was pretty much an instacall.

This one if freaking ridiculous. Cold call my PF 3-bet with QTo, call my flop bet as a 90:10 dog, push the turn as a 70:30 dog, and profit? Oh well, guess that's what makes this game so profitable.

It's an extremely rare occurence when i show up with a totally random hand that nobody expects and end up looking like a total fish, but today it happened.

so im sitting playing a few tables of 25/50 on stars and i notice that on 2 of the tables adz raises utg and then sits out after taking the pot down and leaves the next hand. so i see him raise on the 3rd table utg and realize hes about to leave the game.

i quickly call smokey over and tell him whats happening and we decide its time to start shitting on the about to leave the table player.

misread his raise for less preflop so my reraise was small. smokey told me he would take half my action on the hand because its a pretty funnys pot, so i felt like i was freerolling on the flop and went with it.

probably one of the only times anyone will ever see me look like a total fish in a hand. it helped though, i ended up winning 2 buyins after that just getting paid because everyone thought i was monkeying. i like this new image i have fostered, brian townsend style.

So Derric (actionDJ) and I decided that tonight would be the night we head out to Lucky Chances Casino in San Fransisco to un-rust our live game before Vegas. So we sit at a juicy 1-1-2 game, and I end up having to lay down AKs to a guy who obviously had aces (his hands shook the table as he 4 bet reraised me). After 30 mins of this BS I'm down $50. Sweet.

Finally we get moved to the 2-3-5 game which had a $10 open so it played like a $5/$10. Derric and I were moved to seperate tables and we both ran cold for like 3 hours straight. Basically, I ended up picking up a bunch of small preflop pots with big raises in position, but everytime I saw a flop I got tooled. This one cute asian chick (these cute asian chicks will be the death of me I swear) just took me to school in every pot we played. I raised it up with TT 3rd to act, a loose player behind me called, and asian chick called out of the blinds. Flop came K-8-3 w/ 2 diamonds. Asian chick checks, I bet $60 into a $95 pot. Guy behind me folds, asian chick calls. Turn comes a 4d. Asian chick leads for $100. Puke. I check to see if I got fold equity if I shove. I then check if I have the Td... I don't. Sick...Fold. Next hand I get in with her, I have 66 on the button. Guy limps utg. Asian chick limps behind, I make a raise to $50, they both call. Flop comes K-Q-9. Guy checks, asian chick bets $40. lol Fold. Guy behind me calls. Turn 6. Puke. Guy leads into her, she shoves and guy called w/ KJ. She has 99. Phew. River 6. Puke. Next I have AQo, raise in 3rd position to $40. One caller behind me, asian chick on the button makes it $180. First time she's repopped all night. Bitch, this is war! But not with AQo... Fold. Finally I pick up T9hh. Minraise utg, asian chick calls, everyone between me and her (like 4-5 people) called. I call the $20. Blinds call, we got a family pot w/ everyone but one person left. Flop comes 5c-6h-7h, giving me a gut shot straight flush draw. The stupidly lagtard SB leads out for $20. The big blind whos been really tight for the most part makes a mini-raise to $50. Asian chick behind him calls. Retard behind her calls. Everyone else folds to me. I look down and count out my chips and start thinking whats the best play. Obviously I'm not folding. It's whether I want to just flat call or raise here. I decided to take this bad boy of a draw to war, and hope to give myself some fold equity vs marginal hands or marginal draws... I RAISE ALL-IN $450 TOTAL! Then the dealer looks at me and is like "You can't do that." I'm like "huh?" And he's like "This is a Spread Limit $5-$200 table, you can only raise $200" ... Thanks for telling me that we are playing spread limit actionDJ. Fucking suicide. SB insta folds, the tight big blind calls. Asian chick is like "I raise $200 more." So I'm like fuck how do you wake up with a hand you can felt everytime? So I call off the last of my stack, and so does the big blind. Hands were shown: Both the big blind and the asian chick had 98 for the nut straight. Woot I'm draw totally live! Get there one time! Turn Ad, River 4c. Stacked.

played probably the most poker ive ever played in one day today, and overall im SLIGHTLY up lol. Which is good.

The swings have been INSANE today, dont know why, just have.

To give an indication of how well i ran, i was in preflop with kings 6 times, and they had aces 5 and queens once T_T

So I have been playing a lot of poker, and I really think I am getting better finally. I 10 tabled 200 nl playing 26/21 for like 3 weeks straight and lost a looot of money. I couldn't focus on my opponents, I wasn't good enough to play that aggressive, and that sort of style doesn't even fit the games i am playing.

I now play around 7 tables at once, and have noticed I can play soooo much better, and I think I had tilt problems with 10 tables. I can now lay down QQ to 4 bets from nits.

My BR right now is 19k, and I have 250k in fpp and I'm a supernova. I am thinking about moving to 400 nl, but I think it would be smart to obtain a 3 ptbb winrate over like 50k hands straight to make sure I can play well. All I know is i'm jacked up about poker lately... playing less tables makes me feel like I'm actually getting better and doing the best i can.

Played a couple hours of micro NL tonight and went +$10. Things were going well. It's frustrating only ending plus $10 after what felt like a good night of poker but I guess that's part of having a limited bankroll.

I was feeling really good till this happened. My first mistake was only minimum raising preflop. What is the optimal way to play this hand

Ok so i saw ur topic and i have a suggestoion to see whos smartest between u and baal.

its not perfect but i like it and it could be interesting (its a bit more based on knowledge/experience than inteligence)

We ask you guys a series of questions real life based and LP judges who answered the best. Mainly tough situations

Examples:
You walk on the street with your gf and some punk stronger than u steal her wallet and starts running. what u do?

Your gf invites her best friend at home. Shes smoking hot. in a middle of a conversation (your gf is there), the friend ask you if you think shes good looking because she got self confidence issues. what do you answer
