April was my best month so far in my short poker career and I'm hoping May will be even better. I want to play at least 2k hands a day and maintain 5ptbb at nl200.
Anyway, my question is, is someone in the community willing to order one for me since i have no way to pay for it online, and i will stars x-fer the money to them? If it's someone trusted within this community I'm happy to x-fer money before you order . Pm me or reply here if interested!
NICE WAKEUP ASSHOLE ASKFJAKL:FJL:AFby BJLTNYK, May 02
Finally played my 2 step 4 tickets last night...after 30 step 1s I was left with 1 step 6. I waited for the perfect lineup. Saw one that had jorj, stevie, and imnotsogood who play a ton but some really horrible randoms. Barry Greenstein sniped the final spot. Things going OK...keeping above water. Make it to 3 handed v. 2 complete subhuman retards. Then this fucking gem happens. /wrists

Today i had again a pretty medicore session
not too bad not too good.
run bad at first f.e http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/436724
( set < set and some QQ
8tabling 8max NL50
yesterday i played a 10+1$ freezeout ( 1200ppl) and got like 80th for 16$(5$ net profit) busting QQ vs KK preflop all in.
Furthermore i produced 16$ rakeback today
So all together my net profit for may so far = +54$
Also i had the pleasure to RL met Royal_Rumble on Thursday and will upload pics tomorrow
Guess we will train some MMA together and have some fun in the future
LP ftw !
Now some thoughts about sickness.
As most of u know i am playing Cashgame for quite some time now.
I started Cashgame Nl5 in September 2007.
After almost 8 month of Cashgame i just managed to become a winning player at NL50 in April 2008
Ofc this is really marginal results ( though its still okay imo since i can make more money now than my friends do in their shitty part time jobs )
I think there are mainly 2 reasons i progressed so slow
1.) Lack of discipline ( Ive always had major problems with tilt and overagression in my game)
2.) I am just not the kind a guy who is able to put in countless hours every day in a Computer game ...
I can play poker for like 2-3h a day maximum and then i get sick bored of it ...
I really believe that deep inside me i naturally refuse the idea of spending countless hours being alone in front of a computer
Todays session is a good example.
when catching my sick heater at the end of the session bringing me into green i instantly felt an urge to quit and call it a session.
I had played for nearly 3h straight and i managed to finally turn the -110$ session into +49$ net ( inc rb)
Now i am sitting here thinking :
If i was really serious about pokermoney i probbaly just should have continued to play till next day morning while being on that heater.

Mostly just a cold as fuck deck, people hitting every single draw, people never folding when I don't have anything, people always folding when I do............
The usual stuff.
If you want to see hands I posted a bunch but I'm not going to link them up right now, too tired.
It's a shitty 3rd day back to poker tho -_- Should probably not have played that 2nd session (was at -2k around 11:30 pm, decided to play some more after I had eaten) tho.
I had to cashout some money, cause I'm having a small operation this Tuesday and I need some money for May, and thus I left myself with exactly $10k on my account.
I've been thinking about it for half an hour and I finally decided that I'm going to play NL200 from now on. If I drop one thousand, I will go back to NL100 and re-grind it.
+1 for me forgetting i ordered two sick dvd's and them arriving at my doorstep today.
first i got the wire season 4. i've watched up through season 3 because my roommate had those dvd's. I've been meaning to get season 4 for the longest time but have been bothered with school etc. if you havent seen this series it's got to be one of the most well produced TV series in the history of TV. the storyline is interesting and complex and all the characters are very unique. it's about the differing social "castes" in Baltimore, MD. and tries to depict them all neutrally. I highly recommend checking it out if you have HBO/On Demand.
The other DVD set I got was a recommendation from a friend. It's called "Traffik" and was a mini-series that was on British TV (Channel 4) in 1989. I read some reviews online and they were all great and I'm sort of into Crime stories so I thought I'd check it out.
If any of you guys have seen Traffik or have anything to say about the Wire do comment. If you got any suggestions for similar shows/movies I'd love to hear them.
p.s. The weather has been so nice lately, I think I'm one of those moody seasonal sally type people.
So, the semester is coming to an end. Not sure if I am more excited or depressed. I like when school is in session, it keeps me occupied and is much easier to socialize. The summer shouldn't be too bad though. I am staying in the fraternity house, so I am sure we'll manage to stir up some trouble throughout the summer. For now I need to do well on my finals to get a 3.4 this year.
I am considering going for my B.S/M.S in 4 years for Biotechnology (bio-chem pharmaceutical r&d/sales type shit). Itll be tough and I need to maintain ~3.3 throughout, but if I actually apply myself I should be able to manage.
As far as girls go, I stopped talking to the girl for the most part. I didn't feel like dealing with her ex-bf drama, so she is on hold for the time being. Few other girls I could/may pursue, but I think I might just focus on making money this summer and not worry about the girl situation till fall semester. I have a few lined up to keep me "occupied" but nothing serious for awhile.
Poker has sucked lately, I had to cash out another large portion of my roll. I am literally playing micro-stakes again. Good news is, I am debt free. Bad news, I am going to have to regrind at micro-stakes for awhile which is a bit disheartening. Hopefully by the summer I am at 1/2 with a somewhat solid/very comfortable roll for it ~10k+. I will be working construction, and hopefully at a bar here in Kent during the summer. I want to bring in enough money from those jobs to pay off my tuition and rent for all of next year so I don't have to dip into my poker roll anymore, as thats what has always been holding me back. Hopefully all goes well.
i just hate the sight of them especially at fullring. etoi, bassadoni,fatdan44,lajune,smartfab,prairie hawk FUCK YOU and may all of you go busto sooooooooooooooon lololol
I just realized that I skipped February and March results in my blog because I was tilting hard and spewing like a maniac and totally ashamed at the time. So now that I'm winning again I'm able to come clean.
Look at the contrast - February was a pure spewfest of tilt and pain. The EV line is only barely above the actual winnings line during that month, and both go pretty steadily down till the end. But then March I start getting better but run like ass. I left the EV line in that one cause the difference was huge. Then we have April, my first winning month since January and finally a line that is moving up, even if only marginally.
Hopefully May can be much better. HEATER MONTH I WANT YOU NOW!!! So let's look at it all in picutres...
Yesterday was a public holiday here and it was great fun.
Posting the "bad beats" in my previous blog entry was the best thing ever, since I got lots of replies about how they weren't bad beats at all but bad play and I definitely learnt a lot from that. Got some responses to my cry for help as well. So yesterday Lachlan was kind enough to sweat/coach me and I learnt a ton from it. As suspected, NL10 takes a completely different mindset and approach from NL5, and what's very +EV at NL5 is -EV at NL10. The difference in stack sizes relative to the blinds, the difference in skill level, the huge variety of players from maniacs to nits at the same tables all combines to make for such a very different experience.
Call it coaching, sweating or just friendly advice, but as someone who gives private tuition for extra income, I think getting lessons helps enormously for everything from poker to pastry-making. Posting hands is great, but there are so many things I was doing that I thought were "normal" which turned out to be bad. And if you don't know what you should change, you can't even start to change it.
I wasn't able to put Lachlan's teachings into practice on my own because after the session my wife and I went to the nursery and bought a shitload of stuff for our roof terrace, including 40 kilos of pebbles. Before heading home we decided to have dinner at Singapore's most famous roti prata shop, mentioned in someone else's blog: http://www.foodieparadise.sg/?p=90
For those who don't know what roti prata is, it's an Indian bread that is pan fried in ghee, a form of clarified butter. Ghee is almost 100% saturated fat, and a single roti prata about the size of a palm-sized pancake has about 350 calories (a big mac has 540), so you can imagine how fucking good it tastes. I had three, and one of those three had an egg in it, which adds another couple of hundred calories or so (my wife outdid me. She had egg on two out of her three. Girls who pick at their food are no fun). There was mutton and chicken curry to go along. We also had a cup of teh tarik (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teh_tarik) each, which contains a ton of sugar and condensed milk and almost tastes like dessert. Fucking awesome dinner that will cause massive heart failure for anyone over the age of fifty.
Worked it all off over the next two hours hauling forty kilos of pebbles, 10 kilos of soil and 6 shrubs up a flight of stairs, then repotting the shrubs and landscaping with the pebbles. Exhausting work! I could barely wake up for work today and my entire body aches. When I recover enough to lift my camera I'll post pictures.
nah, well maybe i am but wtf is with PT its fuckin broke.
Man and i wish i had made that much money, but im actually down. And from now on im not putting my rakeback onto BR. So im under 1000 bucks now, which tottaly blows. (this game sucks)
Does any1 know how to fix pokertracker so it shows proper results? cos this sucks. I cant use PT in games anymore, so i dont use PAHUD while playing. HELP!!!
real men dont cry? / i need a poker doctorby rockman255, May 01
i dont know what to do.
i have been on such a long downward spiral that i am constantly questioning my play, unsure of myself and to make matters worse i still truly believe i am getting below average cards.
i went essentially from $930-->$410 in the last 10 days on NL25.
i have assessed that a leak i have is definitely losing alot of money on my medium strength hands, or maybe thats not even a leak because im supposed to bet my pairs and thesee donks call anything. but every single time i have a pair with a good kicker the guy limp calls to the river with the absolute fucking nuts.
here are some hands from today, which i believe half are coolers and bad beats and just unlucky, and the other half are bad plays. so i guess i shouldnt have even finished up. down less though?
i only played 2000 hands today and i am down 3.6 buyins.
i dont think i have hit a single top pair with ak out of like 50 times, and any time i have had a set it instantly folded around to me.
add to that i seem to get repopped massively anytime i raise utg with 99-JJ or some other medium strength hand..
first hand of the day. nut flush flush over straight flush.
so, where does it all stop? i am probably playing terribly and these beats are what i perceive as leaks but are actually just completely normal variance?
how the fuck do i deal with a downswing that sets me back this far? i am supposed to go back to nl10 now?
what do i do now?
i realize this is only 2000 hands of recap today, but i have been experiencing this for excess of a week now. i want to slit my wrists every time i play a hand of poker.
i try to be positive. i try. especially with everyone irl telling me poker is non profitable and i am an idiot for trying it.
