| | The Epiphany...Flawed?? by eightfourO, June 11
So earlier at like 4 o'clock i wrote a blog about my new theory of extreme (to me) multitabling. The other night, i lost a 25 dollar pot that i shouldn't have been in, hit a great flop, but lost to a set after going all in on the flop (QJs vs JJ.....QJ8 flop) and i shouldn't have been in the damn hand anyway...QJs UTG, raise, reraise, call, comes flop, i bet pot, get reraised, i shove. In my defense, i had him on KK or AA b/c of the reraise pf, but thats besides the point. I fold, i have 25 dollars. So i was fixing to go to bed in about an hour and i wanted to get my 25 bucks back...so i multitabled 15 tables for 45 minutes and made $30 on 5nl 10nl tables. So my new theory was...if i am under a lot of pressure just to keep up with all the action at 15 tables, i won't have time to mess with mediocre hands like QJs... and i wont lose as much b/c i will only allow myself to play premo's just so i can keep up with all the action. So tonight i play 12 tables all 10nl and here are the shittiest results ever...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/8f032a00fd7df3232866d622485f285e.jpg
Litterally coolered and shat on after i broke even for the night. 1640 hands, lose 23 bucks. wtf. JJ vs 97... i raise with JJ, guy calls w 97... flop 2 4 9, guy insta all-in, i instacall, he insta rivers a 7 and i insta go shit a brick. I can take that every once in a while, but not all the fucking time. How about this one... QQ, i reraise, get a call from original razor, flop is 9JA, he raises, i reraise, he calls... turn is 2, both check (OOPS, dont fucking check tank, wtf are u thinking. oh you're thinking you're scared of A u dumb fuck, even though you know he doesn't fucking have one.) Riv is K. he checks, i check (way to go u nut fuck). He flips KJ. Shit well i know i lost b/c i didn't bet turn, but i was in the lead until riv, why can't i hold out one time huh? i dunno.
I made some mistakes, and i know that, but i got screwed a lot tonight and went on tilt...
So does my philosophy work or just i just stick to what i've been doing, 6 tables 10nl and getting a feel for my opposition? You lose the ability to get a feel for the other people being on so many tables, as i found out tonight. Please post opinions!!!!

Worst pic of me ever... i'm the one that looks the most fucked up with the bitter beer face but i wasn't even drinking that night.

| | wsopME & long update by CamilaPunt, June 11
wsop seat + update
This will be a long update so bare with me please.
First of all, I won a seat to the me of wsop together with nolan. Was really cool to win it. As we got deep we started yapping on ventrilo and just cheering for people to get eliminated fast. Lucky for us, we were both always pretty comfortable and never in real danger of getting eliminated towards the end. Was fun.
Right now I am struggling to get a tourist visa for the states. I am living in Brazil this year and I signed up for the interview and the consulate is booked all the way to september. So I am trying the emergency interview thing and have had ps send an email to them to help. I think there is a good chance of working but I'll have to wait and see.
Poker:
I must say I am really happy with how poker is going in the past few momths. It all started towards the end of last year when I decided to leave PS and go to rednines. There were a few major reasons why I left ps and I'd like to comment on them
1) I was pretty bad and just kept making a lot of mistakes from playing too much and plainly just sucking. I had a real bad image amongst the regulars and just felt like I was sorta stuck. I wanted to start over fresh.
2) The software is too good and it makes me want to play thousands of tables, although this might also be due to it being kinda slow. And I find that the more tables I play the worse it gets for everything once i'm in a long session.
3) I don't know if it was my impression but I felt like I would see daily things like KK vs AA all in pf and such. Might be 'standard' but I have noticed that after playing extensively on other sites I never got that feeling of consistently seeing messed up situations. I figure this is due to the player level being higher at ps.
So I started out at 100nl at r9's and just went super well from there and on. By december I was playing regularly 400nl up to 1knl with a nice roll and doing
really well, improving a lot on my hu game and working on 6max as well. I paid off my tuition bills and all the good stuff and graduated university with a bachelors in physics.
So I decided to come back to brazil in beginning 2008 (did univ in states) and just take a year off to travel and do whatever. Mostly because I was/am not certain
what I want to do in life.
Somewhere in the beginning of the year r9's gets closed and I get screwed. I dont remember exact date, but I remember I literally had only 300$ left on PS
on a wednesday and that my best friend from the states was coming down to visit me on saturday. I absolutely felt like I had to show him a great time here so I grinded like crazy and scrapped up like 2k and cashed most of it out to spend that week showing him around.
Afterwards, when he left, I was at ground zero in poker again and just did not feel like having to grind everything all over. A friend of mine staked me,
the first time I was ever staked. We ended up going through 3 stakes before I got off and I'll briefly recap them.
1st stake)
30k hands 50% 50% profits. I finished the stake in a week. Made a bit over 4k in profits and so ended with 2k for myself. Problem is I had a 1k bet I made
with another friend on bw that I lost (this before r9's got closed). We had agreed that I pay him once r9 return money or once I am back on my feet but due to some weird stuff that went on he requested his money asap and I gave it. So i had 1k left and with the tournies I had played during the stake on my profit I ended up having much less than 1k. In honesty at the time figured that r9 issue would be fixed real quick... but that didnt happen.
So we went to the second stake.
2nd stake)
This time the stake went pretty horribly. I forgot to mention he gave 2k$ in all stakes and that I was playing solely ps. At the end of the first week on stake 1 I was actually up 7.5k and just started getting demolished from playing so much. I was running bad/playing bad and that continued on this second stake. I ended up losing 1200$ and felt pretty miserable as I really wanted to make money for the staker and for me.
Took a few days break and he and I decided a 3rd try. I decided to leave ps yet once again and go to another site with rb.
3rd stake)
I started off bad but managed to pick it up and in about 10 days I was up a bit over 4k$ in cash profits. I forgot to mention that somewhere along the lines I had won a LAPT seat from the step 2 on my 1st try and so I decided I wanted to start playing tournaments and actually try to win them instead of getting sick of playing after 2-3 hours and donating. I ended up during the 3rd stake final tabling this 15k$ gtd tourney 3 days in a row, winning one of them.
At the end of the stake I had like 9k$ from tournament profits alone, so I knew this time I was in a very good state to be on my own.
I gave him his money and started again on my own roll. Began with 200nl and grinded up. About less than 2 months later, today, I now am back to r9 era playing anywhere from 2/4 to 5/10 (depending on table selection and amount of tables available). Have the biggest br I have ever had online and things in poker are going well.
2 sundays ago I final tabled the 150k gtd on cake poker together with lurped from LP (who btw i found to be super good) and I ended up getting 2nd place for like 21k. And now this past sunday the 12.5k package from ps to me wsop. I'm up this month ~50k which is my best month so far.
I feel I owe ton of credit for the small acomplishments I have to LP. A lot towards people that helped me either in positive feedback or in plainly saying "hey u suck" which just motivated me to do better. I have been working on my weaknesses in the game and feel I am much better now although I realize there is ton of improvements yet to be made. I try to pay back all the love from here by helping the beginners over at the brazilian lp which seems to be slowly growing.
And thats that! I plan on travelling a bunch this year that I have free. Been already to argentina and a couple places in Brazil but I look forward to going to Chile, some other places in Brazil, and asia for my 1st time.
anyways thanks for reading, here is a pic I took at the LAPT with greg raymer and chris moneymaker (im next to Greg). Peace .

| | I have seen teh light! by eightfourO, June 11
Yes sir! i have seen the light! All you have to do is 15 table and u will make teh monies when you ape smash these fuck tards! It's so easy! i made 30 bucks on 5nl 10nl tables in 45 minutes!! and thats probably bad lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw the light, i was baptised by the fire in your touch and the flame in your eye...i was born to love aggggggggggggain, i'm a brand new man!!!!!!!!!!!! little hank williams for ya huh? I don't get caught up and play mediocre hands like QUs utg... (shouldn't have been in the hand. i raise utg w/ QJs, reraise, call, QJ8, bet 1/2 pot, reraise, figured him on AA, i shove, he calls w/ JJ)
No more of that b/c i won't have time to play those nasty hands b/c i'll be too busy focused on like 3 premo hands at the same time...
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
WATCH OUT TARDS, I'M COMIN FOR TEH MONIES!!!!!!
In other news in my life i pitched last night, not sure how many of u guys care to hear this b/c 1)you all play poker so baseball isn't your forte 2) there are a lot of non-Americans that post here and no one outside of America, Japan, or the Dominican Republic know what baseball is. Well, i hear German has a strudle league.
6 innings, 6 K, 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, no decision 4-4 tie. :/ Nice wood bat league.
Had a great game. 1 more year of juco and then off to a 4 year school/possible drafting?? who knows. I know 2 people that got drafted last week... Mark Cohoon 12th round NY Mets $150,000 + $32,000 scholarship if they let him go/injury... Jeremy Heatley 46th round, Boston Redsox, said no to $50,000, no to $75,000, current offer $150,000. We are on the same summer league team and we are playing saturday, scouts from the BoSox will be there...if he is lights out, they will consider offering him $175,000. Since we know the other team we are playing, i might pitch for the other team and hit in the 4 spot so he can strike me out like 4 times since i haven't picked up a bat in....6 years lol, make him look good. too bad i'm going to charge 1 grand to suck saturday morning hahahahahahaha. Maybe i will get to meet theo epstein...
Anyway, off to run and workout and then take teh monies.

| | grinding NL50 by PplusAD, June 11
goes well so far
Today + 147 $ at NL50
Dont know after playing 6K hands at NL100 my first session at NL50 again seemd so soft that i smiled almost every pot i was involved
regulars at NL50 are worse than the Nl100 fish for the most part.
NL 100 has also improved my Hand reading abilities quite a lot ( though it was an expensive -900$ lession
they are just very tight preflop and totally predictable postflop + instead of having a polarized range as many players on Nl100 6max
they tend to overplay medium/good hands all the time when they are agressive
today felt like the easiest 147$ profit i ve made in my life
run 26/21/4,7
here are some hands
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/464330 <---- typical example imo : villian flatting oop with AQ vs my 3bet and then stacking off when hit no matter the action ... thats what the noobish Nl50 regs always do ...
Thing is he had no read on me since i was kinda new to the table and only had played a few hands.
SO just for the newblors and micro stakers out there i will explain why i think his play is bad
first of all calling 3bet oop vs an unknown with AQ isnt good in general on such low limits as Nl50
If he has a read that i am 3betting light and a bad player postflop this might be okay
But with no read i think his play is soo - EV cause to make it a profitable play he must be sure of 2 things
a) I am stacking of light postflop on boards that give him the better hand b) i am 3 betting with AJ and worse AX hands.
since he cant know either of the 2 things his play was very newb.
I am never ever stacking off on A high flop with KK or QQ + my 3 betting range is very polarized so i either have AQs+ any pocket pair or stuff liek 35s 46s etc.
So as a result of that either he wins a small pot when he hits and i dont or he losses a very big pot all the time when he hits the A or Q and i hit A better kicker , 2 pair or Set with my polarized range
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/464347
In this example villian was a total fish 46/31/ with high flop agression but no agression on other streets.
he minraises me Flop
well he likes to play all kind of preflophands that could make a flush or straight and seems to get it in on flop always when having a part of it.
so his minraise could mean all sorts of things
on average i thought overpair + Gutshot would be good enough vs his very very wide range to not fold to a minraise here
he was kinda short also so i decided to go with it.
I wasnt super happy to get it in but i guess its + EV on average vs him for sure.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/464354
here is an example of how obvious people at Nl50 tell their hand.
He limps PF and i call in position with my connector since i know he plays so bad and i liek playing pots with him being in position with almost all kinda hands that could make something.
flop everybody checks to me
so i am sure a stab at the pot with midpair is + EV
2villian fold 1 villian calls
turn he checks again.
And this is so typical for many Nl50 players ... board was kinda draw heavy and he check/calls 2 streets + overbets river when all draws missed >-<
i was sure 85% of the time he has a missed fd or a missed straight draw trying to be cool ^^ 15% he has 78 for the turned straight that he checked.
so i called
besides that i won a bazillion small pots
GL all

| | Challenge update by UCSB_Georgi, June 11
Well i didnt play for almost a week because I've been using my time to study for finals. Today i took two of my hardest finals Math 5B (Vector Calculus) and Enviromental Studies 1C. Both went great!
Finally got some poker in, but I decided to switch it up and play limit. I used to play a lot of limit when i was just learning the game and now with the progress of my nl I really apply agressive concepts back into my limit game.
Started off kind of rusty, making too many call downs, too many bluffs, but towards the end i started to adjust and ran a little hot Overall I ended up $40 !

Bankroll: 173$
I'm obviously a pretty agro limit player hehe But im happy with the boost to the bankroll! Probably going to play nl 10 soon!
Good luck at the tables everyone!

| | Update by BJLTNYK, June 11
Have taken 3 days off this month which is kinda not wise given my prop bet but I'm up 3k this month which is still about on pace. After being up $900 last night early and then going on a $900 downswong late I decided to have a tourney night tonight. Bubbled the $109 which kinda pissed me off but ended up ninjaing my way to the Nightly Hundred Grand final table. Really couldn't get a hold of a stack throughout and ended up having to shove KQo kinda late into JJ and KK lol. Woulda loved one of the top places and a big score but I guess I can't be too disappointed since I've been doing kinda shitty in MTTs lately. Re-read Zen and the Art of Poker the other night which I think really helps my mental mindset for MTTs. Going to AC Thursday with nutshot so I can hopefully make some nice cash there. Still hoping to make it to Vegas for the Main Event but I'm not sure if I really want to direct buy.

| | meh day by royalsu, June 10
played maybe 2 hours of poker today and ended up down 4k. DeadBrainCel was probably the cause of it. He sucked out on me in 3 consecutive 3bet pots where I held AK AK KK and he cracked them all on the river after being all-in beforehand with 34s, J4s, and 46s. So that accounts for 1100$. He then brilliantly played a hand against me by using his image: check-calling and check-pushing the turn with AA after raising pre-flop. That soul-owned me for another 500$. Needless to say I don't think I played my A-game after that.
Usually I get pretty life-tilted after a session like this, but I've had tons of +-10 buyin sessions at 200nl so this isn't really new territory buyin wise. I think I'll be able to sleep well tonight, probably because my friend is coming over in the morning to cook for me. It's definitely a good sign that I don't have hot gambler's blood flowing through my body right now trying to get me to pull an all-night-get-even session.
Well I should focus on the positives: still up a lot for june and I'm going to hawaii soon.
Tomorrow will be my day or revenge!

| | Fun 5/10 hand by Pillars, June 10
So I'm in Vegas until June 20th. I'll be playing a couple smaller NLHE events and maybe some of the larger events at the Venetian. In an attempt to 'minimize the variance' of the trip I'm also attempting to play a bunch of 5/10 NLHE cash. Today I played a short session and booked a small loss.
An amusing 5/10 hand:
UTG limp, I raise to 5x from MP w/ AJo, player in LP calls, blinds fold, UTG folds.
Flop is K72ss, I bet 3/5 pot, LP calls.
Turn is an offsuit 7, I bet 3/5 pot, LP calls.
River is an offsuit 5, I check, LP bets 1/2 pot, I make a ninja-call.
LP flips over AQhh and inadvertently owns me.
I enjoy the additional variables one has at one's disposal when playing live, but I hate the fact that 1.5 weeks of playing cash games and tournaments will be equivalent to playing 5-6 hours of online poker in terms of hands dealt.

| | back to Nl50 >-< by PplusAD, June 10
Nl 100 failed
mostly due to insane bad luck when being involved with the fish in the first place
But i also feel my edge at Nl100 6 max vs regulars is rather small for the most part.
Many players play exactly teh style which which i crushed Nl50 and so variance is a huge factor there i guess
Many of the players are generally kinda tight postflop but tend to make some bluffs every now and then. They majority of the time they still have a monster when the pots are hughe.
So overall i guess winning big pots is not possible unless u
a) play vs fish
b) have luck and get the better and of a setup like u flop set when they have overpair,Top pair or whatever.
IN all the big pots i was involved with regulars they either had
- a super strong hand like 70%
- at least Nutflush draw or other strong combined draws like TP + FD or OESD+FD etc... 15%
- absolute garbage 15%
So i guess the way to win money from all the TAGS is probably to win lots of small pots on flop and turn or get lucky >-<
I noticed nobody of them will pay u off with bad hands ;(
Other than that there is still a lot of fish on NL100
probably a good source of income
But unfortunately i run sick bad vs the fish and so i lost a lot of money
here are 2 nice hands vs fish
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/463688
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/462141
besides that i really think it probably was too early to play with 2,500$ ....
i mean the money just matters too much with that bankroll to play ure A game and stay tilt free
-9 buy ins overall
BR 1,6 K

| | Never ending life tilt? by Zhan, June 10
Hello guys, since I'm on LP for a long time I decided to create my first blog. Lol, I had so many things prepared to write and now I feel like shit cuz I don't know what I want to write actually.....
Should I start with introducing? Hm I don't want to, because I'm on fcking life tilt for like two months maybe. I lost lots of money by playing poker and just doing crazy stuffs like gambling and playing tournaments, sngs or cash games with like 3 buyins (lol you know deposit 20$ go with it to nl25, make 75$ in a hour and then lost it all because I had such a euphory lol...) this happened to me a few times but I learned something and I told myself that I have to do something with it.. so I got staked for 150$ and I moved up pretty easy to NL10 and had 350$ bankroll... but you know easter eggs sucks and I don't celebrate them so I was playing poker whole weekend. Then on sunday -> monday night I lost all 350$. Somehow I started losing buyins in NL10, I still think I played good and had just bad luck....
So I was back down to 200$ and I started to play NL25 and I dropped to like 150$ which I tilted in a few hours. I paid back 200$ because I didn't played only NL5 and NL10 and I also didn't want to lose a friend.
Since then I'm on perma life tilt. I had such a good run when Battle of the planets started. I started to play 3$ turbo 9man sngs. First 40 sng's were good and I was a on good spot to achieve #1 in High Orbit. But then somehow I won 4 sng's from 60. Pretty sick uh? I finished on 50# place or something. Another fail = another fucked 100$.... lol all in all a I threw up lot of money and that hurts because I am just a student.
That life tilt is not induced just because of poker, but last two months I am losing motivation to do everything. I'm good player of warcraft 3 in our country so I wanted to regain my life motivation in this game, so I joined a clan which play lots of leagues, have also a internal league for players and with sponsors (no salaries). And I failed because I'm still getting nervous when I play and angry when I lose etc. This thing lowering down my psychic too and I just can't get out from that shit happening to me.
I just need to regain my motivation, I feel that poker fills me and I want to work on my game and my career but I just don't have money to play now. Believe me I had swings at NL2, I couldn't win a single 90:10 hand, and I had 15 bi swings without any problem in one session....
I'm not an EMO lol I just feel like post a blog with my problems will help me somehow....dunno how... damn....
Ok I said all I wanted, Im not gonna post anything else to this blog because it's called "Never ending life tilt?" so let stick to this...
Oh ya I had my birthday celebration on Saturday. I was celebrating with my best friends including Tur0k the mighty poker balla (lol) and I would like to thank all of them, it was really funny and we had a great night.
And I can't forgot to add big Thank You to creators of legendary video LP in Copenhagen, because these taunts are just cool and we are using them with Tur0k everytime we meet.
Thanks for reading, and sorry for my bad english, I have some grammar problems and I know about them ^_^ and check this one Morandi - Angels
