i just submitted a 20 page project report. wow, i'm glad that's over. only 1 more exam, an 8 page paper, and a presentation left...

i played/ran well in october at 3/6-5/10. i've barely played this month (3k hands, maybe) and i was playing pretty shitty in the 5/10 full ring games. i also played some PLO which was a horrible idea because I really don't like that game, I don't think it's nearly as interesting as NLH, but it can be fun if you like gamboll. but of course i ran like hell and lost a bunch. yay.

anyway, probably gonna put in a bunch of hands at 2/4 once school ends. i haven't even thought about poker in weeks (school...), which was probably good since I was losing, lol. anyway I wanna start out a level i'm comfy at, even tho i have enough BR to play 3/6. if i start playing consistently again i'll probably move back up to the 3/6-5/10 games after a while.

ok...

oh, i'm going to vegas this winter. uh, dec 28-jan 5 i think. I'm actually going there to go rock climbing (weird, huh?) but I'll certainly gamboool a bit too. anybody going to be out there around that time that wants to meet up should give a holla.

alright, check this shit out. peace bitches

94 BI Downswing
  twotimesopt, Nov 09 2007

Haha, not really. Just wanted to give a shout to FrinkX, who apparently took a 26 BI downswing today. Sounds fun.

Oh yeah, what's a downswing again?

Anyway, I built a new computer in early September - JUST NOW finally got it totally working (ugh...). I haven't been able to take any screenshots, so here are my stats for the September, October, and the beginning of this month.

So far, my impression of 5/10 on stars is that it's significantly harder than 3/6. I didn't think the jump from 2/4 to 3/6 was that big, but I definitely notice it from 3/6-5/10. Not really worried about it though. So here are some hands from the little bit that I have played in Nov:

First few are against the same guy HU. We played for like 30 minutes, I think I took 4 BI from him. I was just kind of fucking around and ran realllly good.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/308955
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/308956
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/311463 - he was super steaming during this hand, hence the min-raise on the flop. he left immediately after, lol.

Here's me getting owned by one of the better 5/10 regs I've played against: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/309529

I made a good call against Lyric! He's one of the better 3/6 regs on PS imo. I always seem to play/run really well against him - http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/311382

As I said earlier, my comp is FINALLY fixed, so I can now use all my monitors from PS. I ordered 3 but could only use one. I gave one to the GF but it is so nice to FINALLY be able to use dual-screens instead of having them sitting on my desk turned off!

Peace

Update of sorts
  twotimesopt, Sep 18 2007

1/3 NL live

Villain hit a little heater and has been playing very very LAG the last few orbits, raising nearly every hand. I have 500 behind and he covers.

Folds to him in SB. He min-raises to $6. I have KsTc and consider repopping him here, but I have about 0 fold equity so I decide to flat and see a flop in position.

Flop: AdJdQh

YAHTZEE! Flopped the nut straight baby! He donk bets $6.

I raise pot to $36.

He thinks for a while and makes it $80 or something like that. At this point I'm basically salivating, thinking that he's either got a set or something like TPTK + FD, two pair, etc.

I think for a little bit and make it like $150 more or something. He TANKS forever - I'm hoping he doesn't have the discipline to fold what seems to be obviously JJ/QQ/AA.

After like 5 minutes he FINALLY says ALL-IN. FUCK YEAH BIOTCH. HOLD UP ONE TIME BABY!!

And what does he flip over? KdKh, for a gutshot and backdoor flush draw. LOL. turn and river brick, and I rake in the $1k. Live poker is so easy.

The rest of the night was sick too. Flopped the nut flush in a 4 way raised pot, flopped set over set, had AA like 4 or 5 times with action every time, flopped the nut straight, etc. etc. Profit for the night: $1200. 4 BI in 6 hours of non-deepstacked live play is definitely nice.

Anyway, I've been playing more live than online recently. Moved to Eugene, OR and they have pretty sweet poker rooms downtown, don't even have to deal with a casino or anything. I'm up about $8k over 20k hands this month online, so that's been going quite well too. Recently moved to 3/6 and have profited just a little over only 2 or 3k hands. Would post some graphs but my new computer has some video driver problems that prevent screen capture.

Peace LP

BEAT: PS says no monitor until next month.
VARIANCE: Seriously, has anybody used 3 monitors at once before? Is it better/worse than 2?
BRAG: Bought a new computer! Athlon 64-bit dual core w/ 4GB of RAM!
BRAG: Cost me less than $600!
VARIANCE: Have to assemble it myself...
VARIANCE: See graph

EDIT: Can somebody please help me fix my images? Apparently I am totally retarded...They all work when you click "Comments" but not on the main page. wtf?

Okay, something is up with inline images in blogs. When I post the url it inserts a "< x >" into the url (no quotes or spaces). And, once I fix that it STILL doesn't show up when you click on the blog like (like from the left side menu) but if you look at comments then it works. See below posts for examples. Just thought I'd give a heads up if this isn't already known.

BRAG
  twotimesopt, Aug 13 2007

Hey guys,

I've been running okay recently - nothing great or really awful, just okay. I'm back at 200nl - had to cash out more than expected for the move out West, and also decided to adopt stricter BR guidelines. Anyway, some hands from today:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/250440 - not a misclick, just a maniac...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/250441 - first hand after reloading, same villain

But those weren't the most exciting hands of the session. I started the day off when I saw a 35/21/2 fish playing 5/10 FR. I have stats on the guy from mid stakes, and am obv not rolled for 5/10. But, I decided to take a shot. So, I managed to get the seat just to his left and run hot as hell all across the board:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/250482
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/250480 - sick cooler against myth

Stats for the day (almost certainly my best day so ever):

Anyway, in other stuff, I moved to Eugene, OR. Apparently poker is legal here and there are some cardrooms in town that Yomer has been telling me about which I'll probably check out later this week.

Oh, and Wesley Crusher totally talked to me on PS last night. Not really that much of a brag since I fucking hated his character on TNG, but I still think it's cool just because he's such a huge nerd. I think he used to be sponsored by PS but isn't anymore? Anyway, wilwheaton.net is supreme nerdyness and hilarity if you haven't already seen it and care.

Peace yo

EDIT: yes, i've kind of been nitting it up recently. been playing 8 tables instead of 4 and around 20/18 i guess instead of 28/23ish. seems to be more profitable at this level.

Summer
  twotimesopt, Jul 24 2007

Hey there LP

Been a while since I wrote in this here blog - it's been a busy summer, so here's an update:

Non-poker stuff
Done a bunch of traveling this summer. Here's where:

  • Utah - climbing in the La Sal Mountains and went riding in Moab.

  • Washington DC - friend's wedding

  • Colorado - climbing in the Denver area, and climbed Crestone Needle at 14,000+ feet elevation.

  • Wisconsin - family vacation on a lake.

teh pokahzzz
Poker has been going really well. I had a sick downswing last spring which was a combination of a horrible tilt-induced failed shot at 600nl and...a drunkament (what else?). Then, I cashed out $4k from my significantly diminished roll to live on like the baller that I am. So, I have done some rebuilding this summer - BUT, I feel like I am playing my best poker ever. I have been playing both short-handed and full ring games, and for the first time ever I feel comfortable in both, which is nice.

hrm, goals?
I just started playing 400nl again recently. I think the game is noticeably harder than 1/2, but still very beatable, especially on weekends and stuff when the fish are out. Anyway, my plan is to stay here for a while and try to double my roll and then.........try to figure out that weird game where you get 4 cards. So, if anybody has really good ideas for how to learn PLO please ship them my way. Otherwise...just watch for me and take my monies when I start, cuz that game is so confusing compared to NLH. But w/e, should be a fun learning experience.

In other news, I successfully made enough FPP this summer to get a TV and another monitor from PS, so ship the electronics my way. I've been playing more this summer than ever before, which is awesome. Here's a graph of the last two months. This is mostly 100nl and 200nl, with some 50nl and 2/4 as well.

lol, I also recently had this happen - it was pretty goofy: http://www.liquidpoker.net/informatio...ation_definitely_worth_a_mention.html . In other news, I'm about to move to Eugene, Oregon. Any LPers from that area?

Oh, one last thing. I've got to say - railing myth at the Sunday Million final table was about the most fun I've ever had watching somebody play poker. All of you railbirds were just INSANE and hilarious - I was sitting there just laughing my ass off. My roommates would walk by and be like "what's so funny?", but I couldn't really explain it. Anyway, props to y'all for making LP the sweetest poker community out there - it is seriously kick-ass, and the FT railing was a perfect demonstration of the dedication, hilarity, and insanity that makes it so awesome. Cheers!

Goofy Live Poker
  twotimesopt, Jun 17 2007

What's up bitches...guess it's time for an update. Been playing a little online recently. Cashed out big for summer expenses + downswing = 100nl right now. Also experimenting with playing 9 tables FR at lower stakes - I want to get enough FPP this summer for TV and another monitor in August.

I've been playing mostly live recently. There's a shitty little casino about 30 minutes from my place, so I've been going there a few times a week. In probably like 30 hours of play I don't think I've seen a single good player. Anyway, tonight was wacky as hell, so here goes:

1/2 NL, 200 cap. I buy-in, bleed a little w/ cold cards for an hour or so, go to eat. Come back and reload (down $50). A few hands in, things get interesting w/ villain who is the tightest player I've ever witnessed. Two examples of this:

1. 3 or 4 limpers - villain holds QQ in the cut-off seat and LIMPS BEHIND. Rest of the hand is uninteresting, but I was astounded at his pf action.
2. Villain is racked and ready to leave, plays his last hand on the button. Dealer deals him in, and he says "Unless these are aces, I ain't playing". Quickly mucks AK after a raise and a caller, and walks away. lol

So, shortly after eating, I look down in middle/early position at two black kings. I raise to $10 or $15, villain is directly to my left and makes it $40 or something. Well, after seeing him limp QQ and openfold AK I am about to muck my cowboys. And then, the weirdest fucking thing happens - HE says, "Do you want to see my hand", after I'm thinking for just a few seconds. I say of course, and he shows me two RED kings. Well, obviously I insta-push, which sends him into the tank, and he finally calls. I show my hand and we have a good laugh - dealer prepares to chop, and deals the flop - ALL FUCKING RED. Turn is a heart, gg. Now down $250.

So I reload, and like two hands later the following happens. Active player in MP makes it $15 (std raise, 1/2 live plays so big) and I have QQ in the BB. I make it $50, and villain from the previous hand shoves. Well, once again, I'm about ready to muck my big PP to this guy (actually, this is an incredibly easy fold here, but read on) and I ask him if he's going to me show me his hand again. He says no, so I show my queens (dunno why in retrospect, but whatever) and before I get my hand in the muck, he shows me two kings! I laugh and fold - he obviously felt bad about the beat earlier. Fucking silly...

Anyway, so now I'm stuck $300. I do nothing for a while until some idiot tries to bluff me off of two pair by repping a flush and giving me like 5:1 - gg $100. It gets shorthanded, and I've got direct position on a old man who is a huge station. He limps in EP, I raise 78hh, he calls, flop 569 two diamonds. He check/calls pot sized bet, turn is a black ten, I put him all in for another pot-sized bet, he insta-calls and shows A3dd. River is a diamond, obv. gh sir...

Down to four-handed, some guy raises, I re-pop 99 in the blinds, he calls. Flop is Q94 two hearts, I c-bet, he raises, I shove and he calls w/ JTo (lol). So I bust that chump and break even on my last hand as the table breaks. Cash out for $505 after being in for $500.

I played like 8 hours of poker and made 5 bucks. sweet
