RL vs Poker
  NiTE, Aug 17 2008

Broke up with my gf 2 days ago after 5 months... so.. RL emotional downswing. Wasn't really a nasty break up, more like we agreed to take time off, but still not pleasant.

Poker doing ok. Playing 4 tables NL10 6max on CDPoker and am currently sitting at $329 in my bankroll. Playing at a nice 10,4 BB/100 winrate over 7K hands.

Stats 21,5 | 19,5 | 7,46

The last 1K hands or so, I've been playing more like a LAG style coz it seems people got nitty here... I didn't change my style on purpose, more like I 'see the matrix' of these tables now so I exploit the weak points.

Some agresive opponents, some 3betting, but it's alot of fun. I'm killing the limit, and will move up once $400 checkpoint is broken.

Back, and moving up
  NiTE, Jul 24 2008

After a few months and sorting some issues I'm back and playing.
When I stopped, I had around ~$180. Took me about 3-4 days to reach 200$ on NL4. So after I did, a few days ago I moved up to NL10.
Right now I'm at around $235 with a winrate of 6,32 BB/100 over ~2700 hands. Once I'm done with NL10, which will have to wait a bit because I'll be going away in a few days, I expect my BB/100 for this level to be around 10 because, after the initial moving-up fear, I feel very superior to the players here. I'm abusing position, perhaps even too much coz I'm basically not even playing OOP. I feel I can't make much mistakes playing like this and that variance won't be very high.

This entry is more of a personal record keeping so yeah...

P.S I just beat AA with QQ PF allin, river Q.

Today's showdown losses
  NiTE, Feb 16 2008

I played a short session today, here are some SD losses.
Mainly I have the feeling I'm getting in the above-average-tough spots.
I feel like I'm stronger than the guys at my tables, but I cant seem to finally take advantage of that. I kill them bit by bit, then suffer a big blow. thats my usual day. I guess i must work on my showdowns, so here are some hands:

1. + Show Spoiler +

2. + Show Spoiler +

3. + Show Spoiler +

4. + Show Spoiler +

EDIT: the only time I actually looked at the stats of the opponent was in hand #4. He is 79/0/0,7 over ~100 hands.

Worst session ever
  NiTE, Feb 13 2008

Ok this is without a doubt my worst session in my young poker career. Finished like 4BIs down.
got sucked out on many ocasions, my strong hands either got pwned or didn get any action. Some WTF moments happened, after i got pwned by idiotic hands even after betting properly PF.

Sometimes I feel these stakes are the hardest in the whole world because people are so unpredictable, make the most idiotic moves in the world. And all those moves finish up my ass.

so fuck all this, fuck myth(i dont really mean it) and everyone who says you should get into tough spots coz thats the only proper way. fuck that.
The proper way here is being a NIT and play 1123123 tables, fold everything except premiums, semi-premiums and PPairs.

I'll save my thinking for when I move up. Till then -- I, Robot.

Can this be true?
  NiTE, Feb 09 2008

Alright after having played 15K hands on 0.02/0.04 tables, i find myself at 2,74PTBB/100hands.
A pretty shitty number IMO, it makes me go :S coz i feel im playing pretty ok.

Anyway, i had the feeling im runnin bad, but i thought everyone feels that way so after noticing that PokerEV, i decided to check my allin winnings and sklansky bucks.

I have no idea if i messed something up, or if its even possible for these figures to 'lie'. I just selected my limits, included all hands and pressed 'play'.

Look at this, this is my Allin luck:

Its not that bad, but it sure as hell aint good. But, what shocked me even more is this graph:

According to this, i should have what... $70 more than I do now? if this is true, thats sum sick shit.

Raping NL2!
  NiTE, Jan 21 2008

As funny as it may sound to the experienced guys here, i really am raping the shit out of those fuckers at 0.01 and 0.02 tables. I constantly feel im in control, a couple of days ago i think i truly realized the importance of position. I no longer feel bad about folding AJ (or AQ) UTG and i feel in complete control even when raising with A6 or K8s on the button.

My losses are minimized(in relation to before), my reads are pretty good, my valuebetting is solid. I feel like im 10X better player than huge majority there(its probly true).
Honestly, i no longer find myself in situations where i dont know what to do, im usually pretty sure of my decision. I feel like i could write a pretty solid NL2 guide.

Anyway, my BR just got over $100 so i'll try to move up tommorow. If I start losing, i wont go down till i hit like $60. However, i dont think people at 0.02/0.04 are much better so i expect to rape there too.(yeah im modest)

Here's today's session:

My aggression factors are ridiculous lol; Flop 15; turn 6.5; river 2; total 8.92. LOL

Here's overall stats of the last week or so:

What can I expect at NL4, and when does it really get harder?

runnin HOT!
  NiTE, Jan 19 2008

wow today was one of the most amazin luck days in my experience!
I started kinda bad, was 3$ in the negative, kept playing normally and then... and then luck came!
Every time i get sucked out, i mumble to myself, WTF why cant this happen to me?! I realized that for 'that' to happen, you need to get yourself in those kinds of situations -- the suckout situations. Ofc I realized that kind of play isnt profitable in the long run, but now im talking too much.

Anyway, i played normally most of the time, but today the flops just kept coming out nicely, top pair no potential draw threats. I kept betting, they kept calling, my stack kept increasing. Today was the day i was hoping for on so many ocasions. Every time my opponent made a bad call, i told to myself/him, "just you wait!". Newbs got punished today, even in the I played risky or simply badly.

Here are some hands from my session today:
My biggest win today, i feel this was like the perfect place to slowplay, didnt feel to threatened at any moment(should i?). When he went allin, all i did was type "thx" and called. (ofc then i proceeded in yelling "SHIP ITT!" )
+ Show Spoiler +

2nd biggest win: This hand, i feel is almost too advanced for these limits, i think i played ok.
+ Show Spoiler +

3rd biggest win: This hand i got lucky, but the guy just kept calling:
+ Show Spoiler +

I stopped the session to restart my retarded computer, and to talk my friends into going out even tho they have to study - no luck here however.

EDIT: oh, here's the screenshot of today:

And this one is all together, 6-7 days:

The dillema
  NiTE, Jan 18 2008

I'm wondering if its better to start playing on Pokerstars... Right now I'm playing on CDPoker, i'm currently at around 70$(started with 50$ a few days ago) and i'm not too happy with the interface. Its not allways easy to see whats going on at the table with the colors so messed up. Im doing fine tho.
I got that bonus and i wont be able to do anything with the money until i collect like 12000 points. I think now i have ~130 and I've played alot these 5 days. I dont know if i'll have that much patience, especially with everyone talking so much good stuff about PS.

CDPoker:
+ i have 70$ there already
+ im progressing good
- im afraid that they might fuck up my account if i do anything. Im not even sure i can play from other IP, or from another computer in the LAN, they'll probly say im cheating, bye bye moneyz.
- it ugly

PS:
+ everyone says its good, good support and everything
+ i will probably move my money there anyway when CDPoker lets me free.
- i have to actually deposit my own money.
- i lose the 70$ i have on CDPoker.

Help me think this out.

First step
  NiTE, Jan 16 2008

Hi everyone!

ok i've decided to make this thing so I can keep track of everything plus get comments at the same time.

Started playing again after my Titan poker bonus account got deleted for cheating(they dont ask anything, they just delete you, and i didn even do anything on purpose).

Anyway, applied for bonus at CDPoker, got the moneyz within 15 minutes(50$), started playing a few days ago.
Then Deadman made PokerTracker possible for me, and with the advice he gave me before, i was on my way.

This is my progress for the last 3-4 days that i've been using PT.

I used to play tight like that at first, but i had the feeling i didn earn much money like that. So i experimented alot, tried to customize my play to suit the guys that play along me on microstakes. However, after DLing PT and comparing my numbers (while playing tight) to the numbers here, i figured i was setting my goals too high. I was surprised when I read that its good if your have BB/100 above 5 or so. Even tho that was probly intended for people on higher limits, it still calmed me down and made me just play my game normally. Turns out I had good time so far, even tho i dont feel i've been runnin _especially_ good cardswise.

The screenshot:

So my stats are: 14/9.5/2.5 (this last number is TotalAF?)

I've noticed my Flop AF is a bit high, probly because I Cbet almost every flop i raise PF. I noticed that, thought about it a bit, and noticed some situations where i shouldnt have played that way. After that I've generally started CBetting less, its not wise to use this too much vs these dumbfucks.

If you have any advice, dont be shy, fire away!
