Today is full of bad beats...

Bad Beat 1)
I get 3bet every single time i raise PF with any hand other than QQ,KK,AA and when I do have these hands they fold. For those single times I decide to call them, I completely miss the flop and they shove all-in.

Down 4 buyins. Stop loss, won't play until Saturday.

Bad Beat 2)
I try to buy PokerTracker 3, but my paypal won't accept my new card because my old one expired.

Bad Beat 3)
PokerTracker 2 is broken. Whenever I try to load hands, it says things are missing from the hand history files

Bad Beat 4)
I got another ingrown toenail

Bad Beat 5)
I fell on my guitar and broke it.

Can today get any worse? Fuck..... My bankroll is now down to fucking $165 FUCK. Kim I might need another lesson, sorry for keep bugging you on the same limit...

Am I in a downswing?
  SugoGosu, May 19 2008

Apparently, every hand I'm in nowadays it seems to go wrong. It's as if the villians know what cards are going to come up... It's most likely variance, but I can't remember the last time AA, KK, or QQ has won for me...

I'm down 6 buyins in about 2k hands to hands just like this...

I need motivation
  SugoGosu, May 01 2008

It's been so long since I've played, (excluding my trip to France). I play Mondays / Wednesdays for free at a local bar for a social event. But I have no motivation at all anymore.

Today I ran 2 tables for 70 hands and called it quits while playing very well running 70BB/100 at NL10. I have no motivation for anything actually.

No motivation for poker, no motivation for school, no motivation to get outside and do something. I need something to strive for... FUCK

My Trip to France/Monaco
  SugoGosu, Apr 28 2008

WOW! WTDSFASDF So I just was about to finishing typing it up, and I accidently
click on some random ad and my whole writeup is gone, so I'm going to type it all
again...

So, I leave school early on Tuesday April 22nd, and I leave for the Airport at 2:00.
Get there, get my luggage checked in, and get my ticket.

Apparently the rule is be at an airport 3 hours in advance, so I do, and I wait for
3 hours doing absolutely nothing. After I go through security, I forget my cell
phone in one of those security boxes which I don't find out about until I board the
plane. Bad Beat #1.

I get on my plane, and this is my view,

I land on Wednesday, April 23rd at 6:00 am local time, and the very first thing I
notice is that EVERY 16-25 YR OLD FRENCH CHICK HAS A NICE ASS, except for fat
ones of course. I guess because in Paris, or even in Europe, compared to America at
least, everyone walks everywhere. So all of the exercise has to benefit them in
some way eh?

I get to my sisters apartment in France, after a 90 minute bus ride.

Here's the view from her apartment.

I get situated, in her apartment that she shares with 3 other fine chicks who are
all 3-4 years older than me, and I'm tired as hell, so fuck trying to get with them.
So I fall asleep on her bed. My sister leaves for class for a few hours, while I
take a shower, go to a local cafe and get a sandwich. Apparently all sandwiches
look the same as this there, and notice I already took a bite. Ham and Cheese with
some lettuce and boiled egg in a French bread roll thingy. It's kinda tasty.

Afterwards, we meet up with my grandparents who were visiting Sweden, Germany, and
Paris at the same time, so we met up and toured Paris together. We saw the Notre
Dam, and here's a view from my Grandparents hotel room.

We tour the city, seeing the Eiffel Tower, we didn't go up it because apparently
it's tourist season and it's a 2 hour wait in line while avoiding gypsies so we just
hit the lawn and took a picture there.

Then we hit the Arch De Triumph, no pictures of it, but got pictures of the view on
top of it.

Of course, you can't go to Paris without seeing the Louvre.

After that, we hit up the French Rivera, Nice and Monaco.

We see the Monaco Prince's Palace, and walk the gardens, and some random photos from
that

Now apparently, some famous soccer team was visiting Monaco the same time as me and
my sister. And there was a ton of paparazzi going on screaming echo? I wanted to
know what was so special, so I just blasted a couple pictures. If I took a picture
of someone famous, please let me know who it is.

Finally, we head to the Monte Carlo Casino. Only 1 week late of the EPT and 1 week early of the Grand Prix. But, we did get to see the Super Car Show or w/e it's called.

Here's some pictures from the Monte Carlo, and then the car show. All of these cars put a Honda or Toyota to shame. Even a Lamborghini isn't that impressive here.

Now my favorite part of the story. After doing all of this, we head back to Nice to our hostel. Yay for saving money, only 10€ a night. Right down the street is the Ruhl Casino. It has poker, so I walk in with my sister and we head out to the Poker section. There were 2 tables playing, one 5€/5€ game and one 5€/10€ game. This is a shit load of money, minimum buyin of 250€ for the 5/5 game. So I just wanted to watch and see if I could read the players at all.

After watching for a while, I got anxious and got 300€ in chips, and sat down. This is how it went.

I am sitting to the left of the dealer, position 1. to my left is an old man wearing a blue sweater/vest wearing glasses and he is throwing his money away. I think he threw around about 2,000 EUR during the 1 hour I was playing. Fucking donk, would call with anything and everything preflop. I saw him go all-in with A9 on a 447 flop losing to 77 and getting pissed and bought more.

Next to him is a younger Frenchman who is about 25-30 years old, he was up about 50€ or so the entire time I was playing. He played really conservitevly. To his left, was I guess his friend who was doing about the same.

In seat 6 was an Asian who spoke french (I'm assuming Viet) who was a very cocky player who had about 1400-1600 EUR in chips in front of him. He is really loose, and I've seen him play hands like K3 UTG and 73o from MP, and getting lucky by flopping 2 pair etc...

Then there was another man sitting next to him who I'm supposing didn't care about money and was just waiting for a seat for the 5/10€ games. He was about 27 - 28 years old, and threw money around because he didn't care about it.

Finally, to the right of the dealer in seat #10 was a french soccer fan, probbaly around the age of 29 or so. He was doing pretty well, up about 1200 EUR in a few hours.

So I sit down, and the very first hand goes like this

I'm in the BB, with 300€ and I look at 69o. I put in the BB for 5€ and check it behind.

Flop comes 10 9 6 rainbow. Cool! 2 pair, first hand. Small Blind checks, I bet 25€ in a 40€ pot. 2 callers.

Turn is a Q, so board reads 10 9 6 Q. I this time bet 60€ and get called down again.

By now, I'm thinking what could he have that he's calling with which he limped in with PF. 78? J8? 66? Fuck. My first hand ever in casino, and I'm going to lose 100€. God damnit.

River gives a 2, no flush draw, lots of straight draws, so I check, and he checks behind. I show 2 pair, and he shows A9o with a pair of nines.

I WON MY FIRST HAND IN A LIVE CASINO!! for about 110€

So I now have a stack size of about 400€ and is about 158 USD. I'm happy. Shit, that's a lot of money!

I fold the next maybe 10 or so hands, which all look like 35o, 6Qo, K2s, etc... I figured, full ring, I don't know how to play this, so set mine, and any 2 cards above 10, and pp's.

So now I'm on the button, a raise to 20€, and then a re-raise to 75€. I look at KJo, and I folded (good right?)

Now, I'm in UTG+1 (left of UTG player) and I look at AKs UTG calls, so I raise to 20€. 3 callers, flop comes 2 4 J. I c-bet for 60€. 1 caller.

Turn A. TPTK! YES!!!
I bet 100€ and he folds. Oh well. Life's a bitch.

Now my stack is ~450€ from my starting stack of 300€. I like live play!

I start to be card dead for the next 30-45 minutes and the loose aggressive donkey who spews hundreds of euros for the hell of it, keeps saying. "OH! AMERICAN FOLDS AGAIN!" yeah yeah, w/e. I fold bad hands, but you keep them and lose em. way to go.

Finally, I'm looking at Q10 and I limp from UTG. Everyone else follows suit I guess because I have been folding a shit ton, and I finally play a hand, it must be good.

flop comes Q5J. SB and BB both check to me, so I bet out for 45€. 2 callers.

Turn K, I bet 75€, 1 caller. River is a 9. STRAIGHT. I bet 150€, he folds.

It's only been an hour sitting down, and I'm up 372€ in total to be holding 672€ in my stack. FUCKING SWEET. So I wait 10 more hands before I leave at 3:00 am and head back to the hostel and get some sleep. Here's my money that I collected.

I realized, that I played for about an hour, and Made 372€, it's about 372€ an hour. THATS LIKE $600/HR. HOLY FUCK! I'M GONNA BE PRO BITCHESSSS.

I leave Nice later that day after me and my sister wake up and go to Paris. He check in there, sleep, and I fly back home to Washington DC.

Here's some pics from the flight from above Newfoundland. Yeah, those are frozen waves. ITS ALMOST SUMMER WTF?!

Anyway, I get back to USA, transfer my money to USD again, and It's about $1000 in cash. I get home, sleep and then wrote this up. I hope you all enjoyed this.

Oh, and yeah, it was great.

SUGOGOSU IS LETTING YOU ALL KNOW THAT I LOVE FRANCE NOW.

Just noticed, none of the pics had me in it. Here you go. Now, Good luck at the tables, and let's have a good time!

Sayonara LP
  SugoGosu, Apr 20 2008

Here is the last post for being confined to only knowing what it's like to be in America. The next post I make I will have a stronger viewpoint of what life is like in Paris & Nice/Monaco. Pictures will surely be given out freely in a huge blog post about my trips. Check back in about a week, and you will be surprised. Here is an update on my pokertracker.

+ Show Spoiler +

My BR has gone back up to $225 and I gave NL10 a shot, only to run into hands such as:

+ Show Spoiler +

still up $5 in 200 hands at NL10 so I can't complain.

See ya in a week!

  SugoGosu, Apr 19 2008

Thanks to KimSeongChan and his coaching skills, I am no longer a noob at NL5. I would be breakeven for 50k hands but that is over! I am now more aggressive, even thought I'm still not playing like 21/17 or w/e is the magical number, I'm like 15/10, but at microstakes, being aggressive means getting called by any 2 cards even 49o and flop comes A44 so you are fucked. So I just played position, the players, and of course the cards.

Shoutouts to:
Kwark for teaching me NL2
PplusAD for telling me in my last blog that even the smallest leaks, even if u lose like 20c each time it happens which may seem like nothing, put into a long term effect, can make you lose so much money.
KimSeongChan for taking me under his wing and being my coach for the time being.

Chart since Tuesday (i know i play too little hands)

Oh, I leave for Paris in 3 days, going to Nice/Monaco on Friday and hit up a casino so I may donk up and gamble a bit.

Looking for Microstakes Coach
  SugoGosu, Apr 14 2008

yeah, I'm realling having trouble with microstakes, been playing for ~5-6 months and I can't seem to win at all. Well, I have won ~$160 but I can't seem go anywhere with it. the last 4 months has been literally breakeven after 50k hands. If anyone wants to do some deal like 40-50% of winnings over a certain amount of time or something small like a buyin an hour ($10) it would be great.

If anyone wants to do this, I'd be so gracious, my MSN contact is:
+ Show Spoiler +

or you can PM me some details.

Here is my graph from the last 4 months

I play 6-max but I can def. switch over to FullRing if that's your game. Any help is welcomed.

Biggest Downsing of a Micro Players Life
  SugoGosu, Apr 02 2008

So, I have been in the biggest downswing at poker right now. In the past 2 weeks I have dropped maybe 1/2 of my BR due to a huge series of bad beats. I thought it was bad before, but now it is just ridiculous. Just some examples of what I'm getting at

I'm dealt 1010 flop comes 10 J 2. kid shoves with 22, instacall, hits 2 on river.

I'm dealt AA allin preflop vs 78s hits straight flush

A2 in the button, hit straight flush on flop, called by higher straight flush

AQ flop AAQ beat by AK with K on river

Q10o on QQ10 villian hits royal flush

then like 100000 KK vs AA allins, this is just getting stupid. I'm thinking about taking a break until my curse goes away.

First Live Tourney
  SugoGosu, Mar 17 2008

So I just got back from my first live event, it was a free roll, with $50 for 1st at a local hotel hosted every Monday/Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

It played just like a turbo, kinda. Everyone started with 4k chips, blinds are 25/50.

There were 65 people in it, with 8 to a table, 9 at one.

So, I start the night out with a bunch of people at my table, who love to limp. They would limp with literally any hand, and just checked/fold if they missed, or raised small if they hit. So naturally I adjusted to play tight here. I checked/folded for about 6-7 hands until I get handed Q10s with blinds at 50/100.

I was in Big Blind, folds down to the button who raises to 400.

SB folds, and I look at Q10 of clubs and re-raise to 1k.

Flop 5h 9d 2d
I raise to 500 he calls

Turn Qh.

I shove and he folds, I take down the pot. for an extra 2k and become chip leader at my table.

I check/fold until blinds reach 200/400

I'm at the button with JJ

everyone folds to me, I reraise to 1200 and BB calls

Flop A Q 3 rainbow board.

I check, he checks

Turn K, I check, he checks

River 3 pairing the board, he shoves his remaining 800 chips, I tank for a little and call, he shows 1010 and I take in another pot.

I'm now looking at like 9-10k in chips, and nothing happens and I am moved tables

Down to ~24 people left, 3 tables.

First hand I'm dealt K4s from BB, and I check and Button calls. SB folds.

Flop Q 8 2. He checks I check
Turn is a 3,I check, he checks
River is a 10, he shoves his remaining 1k in chips in, and I call.
I show K high and mucks.

The rest of the table was like "omg awesome call, etc..."

I'm up to 17k in chips, and make the final table.
I have only 3 reads at the people at the final table.

Button is a limper who will play anything with 2 cards of 8.
SB is a tight donk who is just happy to make the final table
BB is a loose player who is the chip leader and he like to play 107o like AA.

I am the shortstack with 12k and everyone else has ~20-25k in chips

Blinds are 3k/6k so I just want to get it all-in on the BB or before.

I look down at 67o and a player I have no reads on shoves on me with 33. His 3's hold up and i'm gone.

Overall I came 9th out of ~65 people for my first live event. I'm happy about this, and will be looking forward to my 2nd event on wednesday.

I just wanted to post that I didn't look like a complete nit against people who are all above the age of like 30. I played well in my opinion, so its a good day.

LIFE TILT
  SugoGosu, Mar 17 2008

LIFE TILT IS GONE!

Ok, so things are going great, well... kinda. I realized PeerGuardian was blocking liquidpoker.net so I have to disable it to view this site. Bad beat T_T

Yesterday I got sucked out so many times. Got 1 outered THREE TIMES in like 100 hands.

One instance I get 1010 from Buttom raise to $0.30 get 2 callers.
Flop 10 A 3 (0.90) pot
Raise $0.75
Both call
Turn 10 A 3 6 (3.15) pot
Raise $2.90
get reraised all-in
Insta-call
River 3.

He turns over 33 T_T

My mouse keeps disconnecting which is REALLY gay. Like every 20-30 seconds it stops moving and i hear that beeping noise when something has been disconnected then a second later it reconnects and i can move it again. Which just annoys me.

I dropped about 4 BI's yesterday to just stupid things getting coolered etc... So today I decided to take it slow, so I 6 tabled NL5 and was up about 5 BI's in about 1100 hands.

I had a cold for about 3 days, but it's almost gone so I'm happy. I decided poker isn't a game of fast betting and trying to outplay every single hand, especially at the micro stakes. So I decided to be patient, and play hands by thinking every hand, and rationalizing what's going on.

Heres my PT from today. (PT3 won't work for me, so I can't do graphs again )

I'm going to Monaco April 23rd so 1 week after EPT GF. I'm heading out to a charity poker tournament tonight in about 3 hours so wish me luck (its a freeroll but 1st gets $50 so weeee)

Also, anyone know of anything to do in Monaco or Paris (I'll be in Paris for 1-2 days) it'll be great.

Good luck at the tables
