Hi LP!

Have a grinding question for you.

This month I have been playing a decent amount of poker so far, think i'm up like 10bi in RB. But my game have hit a serious downswing last few days, I have dropped 13,5bi:s.
For the month in total i'm down 3bi:s pretty exactly, excluding rb.

What would you have done?

If you feel you play pretty ok, maybe a bit to loose but can't win a shit when the money has gone into the pot. Taking a paus? Grinding on lower stakes? Grinding on?

Currently my BR holds 36bi:s...

Thankful for some advice what you more skilled and experienced grinders out there use to do in spots like this one. Ty

A lot!!!

OMFG what a sick short session I just played. Nothing worked. Straight vs runner runner flushes, straights vs higher gutshotstraight, set vs set, overpair vs runner runner flushes, set vs runner runner straight and so on...

I blame all on Jocke, my friend who came over tonight from Uppsala to play a shitload of poker with me. Shitload was an hour for me, now I quit for the day..lool!

Hate when poker is like this...back to start for the month almost, but have some RB to rely on atlest..lool.

...is a good theme to sum this evening up. Came home from work pretty early today, only a 8hrs day ;-) and fully decided to play a shitload of poker. Made some burgers and watched an episode of national hu..to get in the right mood. Sat down and opened up 6tables as usual...and damn I got a real nasty insight from hell. Fought hard to not get sucked out everwhere and pretty fast lost about 3bi...took a short break and went back to the tables, determined that it was just unluck that made me lost in that first short 1hr session...OMG in 10-15 minutes I had lost over 2,5bi:s more...almost only based on lousy plays.

For the readers that have followed my blog since the beginning, that i'm on a new non-tilting mission since I have realized that the tilt is my biggest enemy and leak, heres a couple of questions:

1.What would the old MasterofLaw have done in this spot before?
Answer: Tilted biiigtime and played hu nl50-400 (i'm a nl20 6max reg at the moment)

2. What did the new MasterofLaw do?
Answer: LoLled a bit, then decided to watch a DVD instead.

The result:
Veery good, was extremely tired when a came home and directly after the dinner. But during the movie I slightly got more awake...SO after a 2hrs break I decided to give poker a shot again...

The session didn't start to well and I was down about 1bi, then I started to run pretty good and did some soul-reads etc (from my pov ofc ;-) ) and ended the session slightly more than +8bi:s and a total of +2,5bi:s for the day. Damn I'm proud over myself that I managed not to tilt bigtime. Lesson learnt today is never play when you are too tired.

Now i'm pretty awake as usual when I should go to sleep, 8hrs before I need to wake up again...

Will try to play some poker tomorrow night, must do some major clean up in my apartment first but then I hope I can play some and on Sunday to...Think I will take up some small MTT playing again too...

Now I gonna try to get a good nights sleep and dream about not-tilting moods!

So yesterday I think I played a decent amount of hands for being me. 6tables for about 2,5-3hrs. Ended the session with a profit of 3bi:s and is currently up 5 for the month. After playing on the new site for about 1 month now I feel I start to get a nice grip of the levels and players there. Really really believe I have an edge, but sometimes I become to splashy and draw-happy to really use it optimal. However it was long time since my old nemesis, the supermega Tilt, paid me a visit. Right now I feel much confident in my play and me getting rakeback have been a great improvement in my not-tilting mission. It a huge calming-factor that you don't have to win each and every month to be a winning player, eventhough I want to. I feels nice to get paid for the time I spend at the tables and I think my RB at the moment kills a lot of the variance and supports building my BR faster. My goal this month will be to get about 3-500E in RB. Think that is realistic since I never know how much time I have to spend at work and also theres a lot of parties and such coming up in May. Aiming at taking shots at NL50 in July or August when I have at least 30bi for that level, it will be a big step because I now play NL20 and have 44bi for that level. However I consider it as an advantage that I have played a lot of NL50,NL100 and even NL200 (ofc underrolled) before and won't be frighten of the amount of money going into the pot. Really looking forward to being a NL100 reg in the end of the year, but this time I let time and BR decide when to move up, not my eager to win a lot of money, poker is still just a hobby.

So May is here, and hopefully I can play a lot of hands, or at least about 2hrs every 2nd day 5-6tabling. The month started out pretty good, and yesterday I was up 6,5bi:s but today I have had a terrible session. Got baaaddly sucked out a couple of times for about 5-6 bi, than I played good, got sucked out again and tilted. So I stopped at 5bi down for the day which I consider a terrible result, but still in some kinda standard range 6tabling i guess. The cards didn't fell my way, not much to do.

Also, the loong weekend in Uppsala was great. Some major partying wed-thursday. Now I think I gonna take a serious shot at eating better, working out and just live more sound this month and hopefully for a long time. I think that if you manage to drag your ass to the gym after work and that as a ordinary day routine the pieces will fall into place, but it's sooo hard to do and fucking boring to.

Really don't have anything to say...

of April. Had an incredible rough session yesterday, or more accurate, three rough session. The first one was pure sick, think I lost 3bi's only on 2outers. The second session was better and I only lost 1bi after losing QQ vs A10 all in on Q95 board, turn 8, river J. Sick shit imo. The last session I headed towards the HU-tables, and god I got crushed for 4bi's pretty quickly by the best NL20 HU-player I have ever met, but he also ran like good with some nice suckouts.

So now I'm down pretty exactly 4bi's for the month, have been worse, but I think it sucks pretty much as the top of the month was +7,5bi's. It has been a pretty swingy month and it will be good with some RB. Still will be up for the month 9-10bi's or something, but I wanna be a winning ppl also.

Maybe I will get in some hands with Remember87 tonight or else I won't start until saturday-sunday again. Have been a strange month but ok anyhow. I think 4bi's down can be pretty standard and doesnt have to mean that you get crushed by the level, have just played about 2hrs 5-6tables for about 10-12days also. So have not reached a samplesize yet.

of April and my first month at redbet. Started the month really COLD, played ok but had brutal ul imo. However I didn't tilt my roll away but instead have continued to grind on NL20. As for now i'm up about 4,5bi for the month and think I'll will be up 12-15bi in rb only, depending if I get time to play more before the end of the month. If something big doesn't occur on the work I think I'll be able to play tongiht and tomorrow, but then I'll join the Uppsala-crew again for some crazy parties wednesday-thursday-friday. It's an old tradition called "Valborg" where you supposed to be drunk for some days to celebrate that the spring finally has come. That's a reaally big happening in a dark and cold country as Sweden. There will be around 30.000 people partying in the streets and in the parks, totally sick but incredible fun. The greatest part is where you head to a "nation" like a fraternity, and party like hell in champagne-rain. You buy cheap carbonated white wine and just splash all your friends and the building with the stinky shit. Damn it's great, just can't get enough of it.

This weekend as was back to my old University in Uppsala to get my LLM-diploma. Nice to get the final proof for being a real MasterofLaws ;-) Now I wanna be a MasterofPoker, but I seriously doubt that will happen in a looooong time. Also I played some livepoker, starting 10hours after taking my first drink for the night. Not a good option. Lost some money to the always sober Remeber87 in our threehanded game. Made the misstake to call his allin A6 with my lousy AK =) But the reward was better than money, I finally was allowed to go to sleep. I tried after I lost 200bb first time, but they woke me up for more some more playing,,nice friends..lol.

Yup this is just a random post without any thoughts put behind it...

Hmm what to say, played for 2hrs today and broke-even. Was above my monthly record for some happy minutes but then I decided to go nuts on some combo-draws and middlepairs, which ended in a bloodbath..lol.But still up for the month.

So it's monday again, back at the office for a new week of challenges. Have two really fun tasks to take care of right away. But felt like I had to write a blogpost first and take a cup of coffee.

So this weekend with Dusty,R87,Rednalluk among others were as always great. On the friday we just hang out at Red's place and drank a shitload of wine and beer, thereafter we moved to Dusty's place for some poker. Think all of us managed to win some, because there where two others who lost 500 respective 1300BB.

The Saturday me R87 and Jocke went to a Law-student party, was really nice. Got insanly drunk because R87 don't drink and I had to drink for him to since there were a lot of free beer and liquor added to the dinner we attended. Had a really great time.

On the Sunday me and R87 just played some poker online, have found a pretty solid play again and my confidence is becoming stronger. I'm once again showing plusstats for the month, about 2bi and I think the rakeback is at 8-10bi at the moment.

Now it's time to go back to work, have a lunchmeeting at Mcdonalds with my secretary in 2hrd. She's cool since she's the only one at the office who don't get embarresed by eating lunch at such a place.

Last weekend I totally was into quitting poker for a loooong time after some sessions from hell. I mainly play my A-game live but last couple of weeks I have lost, for me, huge amounts, ending with no profit left from LAST YEAR or even worse that I might be some bucks down in a one year period.

However, I have kept playing online, not so much, but some hands everyday this week. Have managed to turn a -224$ result into a -27 since sunday evening and I feel I play pretty well. With the RB for this month I think I will be up a couple ob BI:s, the RB should be about 130E at the moment but I have plans to make it 150-200 for the month.

Tomorrow I'll join the Uppsala-boys, Dusty,Remember87, Rednalluk and some more to celebrate that they've managed to hand in an essay,,,yaay. Wake up boys, in two years when you're in the real world you have to accomplish that in max 1day, not 3.5months ;-)
