June Crucial!
PanoRaMa, Jun 06 2008
Haven't been running like trash lately, and the 200nl FTP games are just amazingly soft and low variance compared to how high variance the 2/4 games can get. Been making a killing although I should play a ton more..

I'm really considering just dropping down to 200nl for the month, it's stress free, I can 8 table it, and I think I can sustain a huge winrate there (obv not 25 rofl but 8 is definitely within plausibility imo). The regs think like how I did maybe 8 months ago, it's easy to spot their flaws and their leaks because I went through the same thing before. At 2/4 you have everyone just aggro as hell which is saying a lot from a 29/24, not that it's hard to beat it, I think it just leads to greater variance, and I have a personal vendetta against so many 2/4 regs that I just get SO frustrated if I lose to specific regs that I hate (and who hate me). At 200nl I don't really hate anyone so it's very stress free play
Making this update because I'm not going to play this next week, got finals for class :o. After I'm done with school on the 11th I'm gonna grind like crazy I hope and destroy June. I'm coaching again which is fun and helpful for me even, being forced to have to articulate critical concepts in a straightforward and easy to understand manner. I just finished my 2nd session with a student (out of 3 so far), and I'm doing a coach/stake sort of thing with one of my RL friends after I'm done with school.
Hit n Running May
PanoRaMa, May 30 2008
Decided to stop May a bit early. It's been my first actual "solid" month in a while and I just like the stabilization. My results aren't as good but fwiw it comes out to like 5+ptbb/100 which I shouldn't complain about. For the rest of May I'm going to be playing SNG Steps to satellite into APPT Macau. These retarded turbo donk n goes might be the most tilting thing on the fucking planet but sigh gonna try to luckbox it (so far not working).

Overall extremely ridiculously swingy. 400nl is just really weird in that it's pretty high variance although I don't think there's a single ftp 400nl reg that I wouldn't sit with. I feel like I should be beating it for more, but the results just haven't been showing. It's a bit frustrating. Regardless, I'm ending sophomore college year in 1.5 weeks so I really, really need to be putting in more hands when I do. I'm trying to engrave the logic of if my hourly is really worth $150/hr (or whatever it is) at the tables, then I should just play irregardless of the circumstances because anytime I'm playing my A game, I'm theoretically making money (whether I do or not in that session doesn't matter).
GOAL setting time!
- 40k hands next month
- 5/10 NL full time by October 08.
Been playing a lot of Diablo 2 lately rofl, it's so fun jesus christ. I used to play a lot when I was in middle school and nowadays I play it as anti-tilt/stress relief, but I play it a bit TOO much I think. Being a internet poker balla now allows me to just buy good items instead of waste time with shitty items taking forever to kill things, then taking another forever to find better items for myself. I know, LOL buying video game items, but as a function of saving time and increasing fun, spending like 5 bucks on a really nice weapon is really worth it. Anyone else play D2 on USWest?
Thank god for 200nl
PanoRaMa, May 19 2008
I don't know why, but I keep breaking even at 400nl. So I tilt drop down to 200nl overrolled and demolish the games there and redeem my month that way. This happens quite a bit, maybe it's a sign to just stick to 200nl? At 200nl I 8 table (I usually 6 table) and play 29/25 or close to it, and I don't wanna be like "LOL EZ" but it really is a huge difference from 400nl. At 200nl I can easily and confidently say I'm the best player at the table by far, whereas at 400nl it may not be necessarily so.

My may so far. 8 tabling is kind of fun, it allows me to get in more hands which is always nice. My computer really fuckin sucks though, with 8 tables, hud, aim, and winamp it's running at like full capacity lmao.
Some quick hands hands for fun (no analysis)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/448291 - Getting one outered is always fun.. (200nl)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/445522 - Actually winning an AK vs AK freeroll makes me hard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/445521 - This guy is infamous and you know him if you play MSNL on FTP, dude runs like god and is up like 2-3k on me this month alone :[
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/445514 - Another huge beat, top set losing to top pair bdfd :[
Hopefully I can keep this up and end May right.
p.s. anyone know why my MGR does not equal my RAKE amount? Just a small detail but its bugging the hell out of me
Cursed myself

If you saw my previous entry, things were going well. WELL it just took a retarded 360.
Spurs lost game 5, will prob end up losing the series.
My friend lost in FTOPS 12 today, I'll prob keep staking though
And I just lost $5k in 1k hands. There goes my fucking month god damn

honestly WHYYYYYYYY
May one time!
PanoRaMa, May 12 2008

Finally beginning to run pretty good. About time, ftp. I'm also staking one of my friends in various FTOPS events, who somehow consistently makes it deep into lots of tournaments (something i could never be able to do even once), so hopefully he ships that. I also have 300 dollars on the New Orleans Hornets vs San Antonio Spurs NBA playoffs matchup, and after an abysmal game 1 and 2 performance, SAS is shipping it crucial (though part of me wants NOH to win so they can play my Lakers in the western conf finals).
Some fun hands:

haven't won a flip worth more than 20bbs this entire month.

Perspectives + My April
PanoRaMa, Apr 30 2008
Something I realized the other day as I walked into my roommate's room and saw him 2 tabling 1 dollar SNGs. He just sort of plays for fun, doesn't study or anything. I was watching him and he jokingly said he wanted to make enough so he can come on my tables and bust me. He asked what the minimum for my table was, and I said 80 (400nl), so he was like "fuck".
I thought it was really interesting because even though 400nl is by no means high stakes, it certainly is a lot from what I've started off playing (25nl). I think sometimes we take it for granted that in the past X months or so we've moved up 3 levels, but still aren't exactly appreciating the money we earn. I ended my month at 6k, and I felt really bad because 6k a month is how much I used to earn at 200nl. But I should be appreciative, that I have the ability to make 100/hr on really bad months for me, and I know a lot of people who play lower would LOVE to play at 400nl etc.

Hoping for a good May (which means, please let me run good at 400nl one time FTP)
Story of My Life
PanoRaMa, Apr 28 2008
Why is it that girls I get attracted to who are not only cute/pretty or w/e, but also have great personalities and other little awesome things about them (such as richness, god I love rich girls) ALWAYS have a boyfriend? This is just so weird and my sample size of 5 girls throughout this school year makes me really angry, especially when their bf is some busto :[. Of course they never mention it or show any signs of having one when we're flirting at first, and I only realize it when I facebook stalk them. And I actually have SOME morals, which won't allow me to "steal" them either. Such a nice guy I am, but so unlucky :[ Story of my life imo..
And uhh, about poker, I'm only up 6k this month which is terrible over 34k hands at mostly 2/4 some 1/2. Hopefully I go on a heater this upcoming 2 days or something. My interesting hands lately for those that like my hand posts. A lot of them aren't THAT fantastic, I'll note the really interesting ones though with the extra text:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/429539 - JJ induce two streets of bluffs oop 3b pot, still lose
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/430385 - Set over set in massive pot
Very interesting one. Galimbax is a HUGE fish running at like 70/50/3 or whatever. The other guy is your average 2p2 tagnit who has been very quiet while I've been running over the table playing 35/30 and actively playing against the fish (who runs like god obviously). I think I could've found a fold on the turn if I were playing my A game... he simply just doesn't have 87 or 65 in his range ever when he plays this aggressively. His range is literally 55, 66, or 43. Shoulda folded...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/430389 - Villain folds for 90 more in giant pot
Was against the huge fish mentioned above, rofl.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/430387 - AK vs A2s cold-4b, still lose
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/430386 - Set over set (on river) in deep pot
I think my flop and turn line is OK, not great not bad, vs semi competent, aggro regs. No way I can get away from the hand on river, sick set up ;/, was vs the guy with A2s above, sigh
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/431261 - Bottom pair, 2nd worst kicker river call
Standard line vs fish if I ever have any decent showdown value. Turn is also a great card because fish like this play so backwards retarded that they'll fold their weak mid pairs but call with their draws, so the turn bet serves as a bet for value AND as a bluff. Their snap full pot bet when all draws miss on the river is such a tell and they obv won't balance it well enough ever to make this call bad at all. I pretty much felt 90% missed draw, 5% set, 5% two pair that were played oddly.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/431263 - KQo two street bluff induce
Here's an interesting one from a game theory point of view. On the flop he knows i'll barrel this with 100% of my range, and because I know he knows that, I expect him to float very often. Turn is decent, I c/c hoping to rep JJ or AT or JT or something. He bets river, and I figure call cuz the hands that beat me make up way too thin of his range, and my hand is underrepped enough as well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/434287 - AK lose to AK pf ai, 4 flush board EZ :[
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/434288 - QQ lose to QJs pf ai, had 91% equity on flop lol
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/434291 - 73o, nitty villain plays his top pair retardedly and pays off my ninja three of a kind
Enjoy.
I Created Mt. Everest
PanoRaMa, Apr 17 2008

This is my april so far, I played like 3.2k hands today and -1.2k on the day. This is some really swingy shit...
I've been playing like 29/24 lately which is probably a bit too aggressive but I'm comfortable and I like it.
Here are some interesting hands I've played recently:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/425961 - Don't even know how to begin describing this one..
Given player dynamics I felt he could be raising very lightly on the flop given this is bvb and all that, but his small raise size was weird. I decided to 3b since I didn't want to float oop and I also have the Jack hi, but I gain some sd value on the turn. On the turn it's weird he bets such a committing amount but at the same time he didn't shove over my flop 3b. I figured if he had a very strong hand then he probably raises small to induce (or raises big), and if he induced I should've seen a shove. These sort of reasons lead me to believe he has a draw and so since I actually have a pair I can comfortably c/ai. This is prob a 4/5 on the spew scale.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/426734 - 99 call down on 3 flush, 3 straight, A, K hi board
This guy had been very active and potting instead of making normal sized bets on early streets, so I decided to call down since I did have 2nd pair. The board gets progressively worse and the worst possible card comes on the river, where he shoves. My initial thinking was that someone like this should be afraid I was drawing to a flush (not that I would ever really play a fd this way), and if he had only a King anyway he probably wouldn't shove. I figured if he even had AK he probably wouldn't shove, and that his hand was either a flush draw or air. I figured if he had a FD he may not have potted the turn he could've checked, so I thought the possibility of him having a fd was diminished. Later I decided my call wasn't that great and that someone as maniacal as this could've easily bet here with Ax or two pair or whatever. 5/5 on spew scale in hindsight
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/427463 - J hi bet/3bet, fire turn barrel bluff
I'd been 36/30 on the table when it was still full, and generally just very active. This guy had been staying out of my way until he hit a set on me earlier and my combo draw missed. When it got HU we started going at it a lot more and when he c/rs so small on this flop when we're deep, I just didn't think he had to have a big hand. I don't think he does this with a ten so he doesn't have AT or anything like that but I think he has hands like 87, a small fd, air (except until he calls my 3bet) etc. here a lot. On the turn, it's such a godlike scare card and we're so deep and when he just can't conceivably have a good hand I decide to fire. If he had called I would've put him on exactly some sort of draw and probably would've shoved river given safe cards obv. 5/5 spew scale.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/427444 - 500bb pot suck out
Same villain as the above J7o hand, we def. had a very very aggro dynamic going on and this hand occurred a couple hands after J7o. When he 4bets me I didn't want to call but I also didn't want to fold either. I 5b intending to get it in (it's possible he even folds a hand like TT/AKo that he decided to 4b anyway), but he just calls. At this point he has like QQ+, but I really have no choice and just stick the rest in. Interesting that he had 99, and made this play. He even tanked for a while so it's not like he was ready to snap get it in on any non K, A flop, I think it just came down to him being frustrated. Thank god I hit my outs though. solid 11/5 on the spew scale.
Hope you guys enjoyed my spewtardness.
