Life In the Microstakes!
  SugoGosu, Feb 26 2008

Oh yeah, its going good. Been running 11bb/100 lately at NL5 but like -4bb/100 for NL10 cuz I suck. I decided I'll get 25 BI for NL25 through NL5 and just skip NL10 as everyone says there's so much variance. So fuck this poker shit, let's get on with the story!

Alright, so it was my 18th 6 days ago, and I celebrated it by ordering a $30 steak at a local fancyish restaurant. I then celebrated with my family and got $250 in cash cuz I asked for money and no gifts. But my parents are pretty financially stable, and gave me a Bose Accoustic Noise Canceling ver. 3 Headphones (~$350) so its fucking sick as shit! They're SO GOD DAMN COMFORTABLE. It's like putting the comfiest pillows on your ears with a fucking million dollar sound system coming right into your ears.

So far in Feb. I've played 11k hands of NL5 and I'm up $130 so its all good I hope to hit NL25 by end of March, as I'm going to try to play 25k hands in the next 30 days. I hope I can do it.

Current BR: $300.01

I just found out this new band, and they're coming to my city in like 2 weeks with 2 of my other favorite bands so I'm so excited to see them.

Here's a youtube video of them.

Downsing
  SugoGosu, Feb 23 2008

I just gotta ride this out, I've had the worst luck in the last week. Some of the memoriable hands are

JJ vs 55 and he hits 4 of a kind
QQ vs AJ on AQA flop, 5 turn 5 river
KK vs 36o villian hits full house on flop

all of these were 2BI deep on NL10 and lost it all.

Sigh...

Hopefully next week I'll be in a hot streak cuz i want my money that i deserve!

A Nits Life Stats
  SugoGosu, Feb 08 2008

Yeah, I'm a nit but so what!?

I just realized PokerTracker3 was in a free open beta testing so I got a copy of it, and low and behold, I finally so a graph of my progress. I am actually a lot more relieved than before, because I thought my graph would be disgusting (well for tournaments it is!)

So here we go!
Cash Games

Tournament / Sit 'n' Go's

Cash Games Stats

Current Bankroll: $241.00

I'm going to keep on grinding and not play any more tournaments as I can see I just purely suck ass at them. Good luck everyone reading this!

My February
  SugoGosu, Feb 05 2008

January was a disappointment, nearly lost all of my bankroll (went down to $80 from ~$300). So the last 10 days or so of January I rebuilt my roll to ~$180.

Now, I decided not to play NL10 as I just played horrifically bad, and card dead, I gave up and went back to NL5.

Things have been alright, my Bankroll is now at $230. I could have it at probably $270 but I got a good amount of coolers.

Anyway, here's my PokerTracker from this month so far.

Also, I have finally got enough enough FPP for something free. I want to get something just to make myself feel better that I actually am doing something with a result, and not just clicking a button for nothing. I have 650 FPP which allows me for the following things... Which should I get?

Poll: Help Sugo Choose What to Buy
(Vote): Green Bear with PS Shirt
(Vote): Pokerstars Beanie
(Vote): Pokerstars T-Shirt
(Vote): Stress Ball/Star
(Vote): Baseball Cap
(Vote): Shitty Poster

No Silverstar for Me T_T
  SugoGosu, Jan 30 2008

I almost got it I think, what about you all?

Overall, this month has been so sick pokerwise. I started out in like early January playing NL10 and just sucking ass, and I hit a bad run, running KK into AA preflop etc... a lot of bad plays, and as a result, my skill dropped insanely. I would hardly ever c-bet, only play AJs+ 1010+ and fold to any c-bet or raise preflop.

thank god, I caught a hold of that and stopped myself from losing my entire bankroll (instead only lost $220 of my $300 BR)

Now I'm back up to $192.

FPP is goin pretty well. Hit 550 today, so I can actually get something for free!

So either a shirt, a bear, a beanie, or a stress star. What shall it be?

Got Scammed IRL
  SugoGosu, Jan 25 2008

I have this attitude where I try to help people as much as I can. Previously back in ~July I was really good friends with this person (I'll call him Jackass). So anyway, he gets fired from his job, and needs to pay rent. I hung out with him all the time, and he has paid me back before, so hey, why not?

Turns out Jackass is a homosexual (i did not know this) and had a huge crush on me. I figure this out, and as we drink with some other people, he tries to grope me and shit. I say fuck nasty shit I'm out.

Throughout the previous 6 months I have been asking him and asking him to pay me back the $950 I lent him. He now acts as if he has no idea what I am talking about, ignores me, and then blocks me on AIM/MSN and won't answer my calls.

Today he messages me saying that he wants to kill me and key my car (lol who the hell kills someone and KEYS THEIR CAR?) and such. So life tilted right now... down $950 when I shouldn't have been.

So -EV. So, never lend money to a gay guy crushing on you.

Jackass: Cant wait to start working, might have a job as a salesperson in a phone store. Ill have u paid off in no time,

today
Me:so when can i be expecting my $? or is that something you stole from me?
Jackass: I honestly have no clue what your talking about

Me + Sunday 100k
  SugoGosu, Jan 10 2008

I have been playing really little amounts in the past week or so, I had a few bad beats so i took a little break and after Elky had won the PCA I decided to play a little Sat. to the Sunday 100k and I won (just barely) so I'll be participating in it and hoping to luckbox my way to a little bit of the cash. (like 20 bux) if not, then hey, whatever, only $2.25!

NL10 Sucess
  SugoGosu, Dec 29 2007

I bought a subscription to GrinderSchool.com for $15 through a transfer on Pokerstars. Immediately I downloaded their NL10 videos. I learned so much and fixed so many holes it is amazing. I was down 4 buyins in total for NL10 and after two tabling for about 2hours I am now up 6 buy ins.

Through the videos I learned things such as betting sizes, positioning, and proper note taking on other players. I have had some tough positions, but I think I made the right choices on them.

The players overall are definitely winners on NL5 however they are mostly calling stations, so betting more to get more $ out of them is very easy.

Some of the calling stations I'm talking about are in places where a player flops full house and checks until the river until they shove and get very little value out of their hand.

I have opened my ranges a lot more, and I bet a lot less with weaker hands because of the calling stations to minimize my losses.

I'm going to wait until I get 20 BI's for NL25 which is about ~$500 maybe $550. Anywhere around there.

Finally things are starting to look bright for the future.

Starting BR Today: $259
Current BR: $300
