well, i like this fold. pockets 9's in a 3 way pot when u arent very short on chips is not a situation to go for imo. but hey, i'm a fish, so if im wrong here, please correct me and explain to me why

you are showing this because A/K/Q didn't came and you think it's bad coz you could win ?

traxamillion   United States. Jan 24 2010 13:55. Posts 10468

I posted it because i think it is actually pretty close and I didn't just easily fold. Decent amount of the time i am going to have really good equity when up against 3 overcards like this; 2 overs and an underpair... and sometimes be in pretty bad shape vs another overpair. I only need like 30% to make the call +cEv and sometimes kids shove pretty light/retarded in turbos

i insta call it. you have a big stack and two shorts are moving in. u will be very rare dominated here by bigger pocket pair and it's ev+ to call.

i have been in this spot many times and just like you I was folding. i was also conflicted about what to do with TT here. came to conclusion that JJ is obv snap call, TT is a call and 99 is likely still a call without reads, 88 would be a fold.

I'd call but only because of how many chips u have.

If u had like, 15k, I would fold.

I don't think its a snap call with 99 like others are saying. There are other factors to consider. Has the play generally been tight?

As chip leader you're not under any pressure to accumulate chips right now and can afford to wait for better spots; hands where you can win without showing down, where you are the aggressor, or where you have a better hand than 99.

sawseech   Canada. Jan 27 2010 02:41. Posts 3182

in an donkament u are under constant pressure to accumulate chips, u have to win all the chips anyways, why wait?

jesus christ! so what its a $5 tourney. you are calling this because you are not risking much of your stack, the initial pusher will have a range that you are ahead of, and the 2nd all in has a range where you a slight favorite.

i mean really, its a 9 bb shove followed by a 13 bb reshove! hero has 4x+ the larger stack, 55 bb or so, he is risking 13bb to win 40 bb pot (once his 13 bb go in) and he is going to typically be 33% or better to win, giving him the odds necessary to make this profitable.

I'd probably fold as well. Just seems like there's a good chance you're facing 3-4 over cards collectively, or worse, a bigger pair. Buuut. I'm a nit. I just like to pick spots where I feel like its more likely I have the best of it, especially when I have a ton of chips, I think its better to wait to pick a better spot. No use doubling someone up. It's also true that you have a ton of chips, and the blinds are super high, so I guess you can assume that their ranges would be much bigger. Still a good fold imo, as they said, don't be results oriented.

loool u cant fold here in any donkaments. it doesnt matter if it is 5$ or 109$ tourney,u destroy the ranges of these two players and u have a big stack. i think that latko28 can easily do the same move with a8+, mr shill can have any siuted connectors,a lot of smaller pp, Ax. u are never dominated here. 99 is an absolutely NUTS

yes obv call, good odds, they got 10bb, you got them both easy covered ,and 99s got enough equity 3way etc.
