Not sure if this is repost, but when I clicked on History on Pokerstars, they have a "Request Playing Audit" option. Seems like this is in case you get audited by the IRS.
Posted this if any of you guys would like to know. |

maybe an effort to co-operate with the government will help get poker legalized?
I don't think its worth it though, I perfer privacy over a few extra fish |

How is this working with tax agencies?
They allow you to download a file with your accounts history. Just because it's called an audit doesn't mean they are now more willing to give up your privacy. |

yeah it has nothing to do with taxes, it's to see what happened with your account, i.e if you suspect you were hacked you can see what happened, etc |

i just responded to OP.
it could effect Canadians huge since our tax area is so grey and based a lot on how often u play, expect to win, etc so if PS was willing to disclose that stuff then kills cash players claiming they dont expect to win, etc
for hacking purposes or just for funsies then yeah great if this is a start for something more then bad and panic mode sets in very fast for those who have made decent money |

Is this part of that whole "every cent you win at the table can be taxed, because you could always play 1 hand, win the blinds, and leave. The blinds you won were legitimate income, therefore they have to be taxed"??? I mean take the Durr challenge audit, they have already passed several million dollars back and forth, if each hand won were to be taxed, they would both go broke by the end of the challenge. |

True, but the reason they have it I assume is for people filling taxes. It makes it much easier to file it but harder to "cheat" the system.
I say that this option was a benefit more than it was a negative. |
