My girlfriend goes to school and they have a poker club. I go there purely for social reasons--stakes are too low for it to be any sort of big deal, so I am interested in this from the purely academic point of view. We play $20 rebuy, with one 2x original stack addon after 1 hour for $20. People there are really really bad for most part. There are a few guys who kind of know what they are doing, but they still make fairly serious mistakes--raise-folding AT 5-way with 10-12 BB stacks. The tourney is normally 2 tables of 10 people or so. Prize is top 3 60%-30%-10%, which basically makes just cashing a lot less important than getting first place. So given very bad loose and clueless players, what is a realistic ROI for a tourney like that, given that I am quite good at SNGs and larger tourneys?

EDIT: also with not bubbling being a lot less important due to higher than normal premium for 1st place, and a lot less than normal reward for 3rd, what adjustments would you make on the bubble compared to the normal never-call rules.

Not enough info on the structure. How many bbs do you get and how fast do the blinds move up?

I'm going to guess it's gonna be like 30% roi if you're any decent and it's somewhat like the PokerStars sngs except with a rebuy and addon.

make sure to puff your chest out when you clarify that you are too manly and muscular to play such low stakes rubbish . purely academic. not because he's a girl. make SURE you take note of that, guys.

just kidding i love you

anyway i think something like 100% roi is probably reasonable with people that bad, unless the structure is super crapfest

agreed 100% roi seems achievable in an academic sense

edzwoo just thinks he can troll you because he has a trophy though

i would like to restate that edzwoo is THE MAN and if this thread gets 5+ votes for derailment to become an edzwoo appreciation thread, then i will gladly rename it.

Structure is you get 100 chips to starts. Levels are 20 minutes and blinds are 1/2 - 2/4 - 3/5 - 5/10 - 10/20 - 15-30 - 20/40 and so on. After 1 hour you can addon 200 chips for $20 and you also get to use 50 chip show-up on time bonus at that time, so basically 250 chips added at first break. So it's really not bad. By the time it gets to the bubble though, biggest stacks have 10-20 big blinds.
