- The event is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Antonio Silva and Andrei Arlovski. Their first fight at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery ended in a unanimous decision victory for Silva.
- Paulo Thiago was expected to face Mike Rhodes at the event. However, Rhodes was forced out of the bout due to injury, and was briefly replaced by returning veteran Joe Riggs. On July 29, it was announced that Riggs had to pull out of the bout due to a gun accident with non-life threatening injuries in his house. On the same day Sean Spencer replaced Riggs as Thiago's new opponent.
- Santiago Ponzinibbio was expected to face Sergio Moraes at the event. However, Moraes pulled out of the bout citing a lingering knee injury. He was replaced by Wendell Oliveira.
- Valerie Letourneau was expected to face Jessica Andrade at the event. However, Létourneau pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by former Jungle Fight women's bantamweight champion Larissa Pacheco.
- Promotional newcomer Lukasz Sajewski was expected to make his debut at the event against Leonardo Santos. Sajewski was removed from the card and Santos will now face Efrain Escudero. While Escudero's initial opponent Francisco Trinaldo will face Leandro Silva.

Alrlovski wins so long as he never gets punched in the face cleanly

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

I'm pretty jaded on betting large favorites in heavyweight after the Overeem saga, but it's hard to see Arlovski getting it done in any way. Big Foot's chin has been suspect at times, but Arlovski looked like a washed-up version of his washed-up self in his last fight.

Big foots chin is pretty decent and his fight vs Mark Hunt proved it, he has gotten KOd simply because heavyweights hit hard.

Arlovski is technically superior but he fought like shit in the last fight plus his glass chin and against a bigger opponent Silva I say Silva should be a bet on anything better than -340 (havnet seen odds)

- aaaaand he is -390 I dont think its worth a bet

I think -390 is still worth a bet, and also Bigfoot by KO at -119. I dont see Arlovski winning not even by a lucky punch. I want arlovski to win tho.

Look at all those names i see for the first time :/

@soberstone dunno why you get upset about Overeem, guy s been most overhyped and overestimated fighter in the history of MMA probably and he s been progressively working towards that rock bottom.

I'm not upset, I never bet on him. But your point still stands because I definitely thought he'd beat Rothwell, but luckily the odds were so stacked that I didn't lose on that one (although I've been way down lately). In essence, you are correct.

As far as the Bigfoot fight, I took him by tko at -119 and also parlayed him with Bedford, and also did a parlay with him, Bedford, and Spencer.

Only dog I'm betting on is Doane > Alcantara (small bet) at +260 because I do think Alcantara is decent but I think he's overvalued and his last KO over Lee looked super fluky, and I think Doane is a very good prospect.

A bet on -390 is bad especially having the -119 KO option, theres no way Silva wins at a -270 frequency by decision thats ridiculous, and I dont like the -390 bet simply because Silva has a very porous defense and White just said that if Arlovsky loses he will cut him from the UFC so he is going for broke on this fight

Well bigfoot didn't finish them in their first fight when he was likely on TRT coming of back to back KO losses. If you haven't seen it, it's basically arlovski circling a bunch and running away and not engaging or committing to any strikes. Kinda similar to how he fought Schaub. Which is basically how he fights now. He fights super safe and seems more concerned with not being KO'd than actually winning. Bigfoot landed some good punches on Arlovski actually and Arlovski's chin held up pretty good.

Not sure about the betting lines though.

Hey Im slinging mad volume and fat stackin benjies I dont got time for spellin n shit - skinny pete

Well I think it depends how Arlovsksi fights, he is with Jackson so I doubt he commits a lot. I am betting the two lines, Bigfoot and Bigfoot by KO. Didnt know Dana says he will cut Arlovski if he loses, that is so sad.

I cant find the article I read but yeah obv Dana was very dissapointed in his fight vs Shaub and is in a do or die situation and we know how much uncle Dana likes decisions on boring fights, so Arlovsky has to swing on this fight he can even lose if he make an entertaining fight the UFC will keep him and maybe do some Overeem vs Arlovsky fight (the glass chin showdown lol).

Also its a 5 round main event so if you are going to bet on Silva the KO line is has waaay more value, not even close.

I'm 100 percent sure if its anything like Hunt vs Bigfoort (which don't get me wrong, I doubt it will be) - dana would reconsider

I'm just watching today's fights without betting on them. However, if I were gonna bet the main event, I'd bet Arlovski +365 & o1.5 -155.

a bit of an offtopic:

does the KO bet still count if the doctor stops the fight, or the guy breaks some part of his body e.g. Jones breaking his toe vs Sonnen
