I think villian should have more monsters than usual in his range given that the fish was yet to act and he might seem some extra value there in a flat call, I think its important to think how he plays the turn with QT there, does he goes for a C/C? I think most people would simply just bet it because it kinda sucks to c/c in most spots and the fish there might make a dumb bet and he cant really CR light the fish can he?

So that reduces his potential bluffs to hands like JT, seems that the play has to be very read based, not many ppl have that kind of play in their book, also you might want to include JJ with some frecuency in your checkback range on that flop if such aggresive players are in the table.

Also I think the flop check is simply terrible

Honestly I can't fault u for checking flop as our equity sucks when called and we are 4 ways nor can I fault u for calling river if you want it approach it from a gto perspective. Either decision could go either way really. However I disagree with mcnasty's assessment that villain has ak here, as not 3betting ak pre nor betting turn if he somehow didn't 3b pre is inconceivable and just completely awful. That said, I'm curious as to the results!

I was just trying to guess a "funny and unexpected" result.

I like how you played this hand given the situation and players in the hand with you.

As played I call if villain is stuck and fold if villain is up.

As a standard i fold here tho ;D

How does our equity suck when called?

We have 2 overcards backdoor nut flushdraw and backdoor nut straight, we can comfortably barrel those turns that help our backdoors etc

Oh btw the villain in this hand is confirmed Barry Hutter. I think he does come from an online background but I'm not sure what his screen name was. Probably makes no difference in this hand but I figured I'd share

no bd nfd only bd straight and overs. I don't like how we do vs their calling range and don't like betting any turn card except a Q for a variety of reasons if called by one of the 2 blinds, and only expect to get good value out of making a straight. I'm probably betting the A or K vs the blinds to uncap our range, but I'm doing it to check river and expect to not have the best hand a good % of the time when called. I only like our hand vs the original limper. So the only scenario in which we bet and get called that I like is when we get called by the limper.

That being said I still love a bet because we hardly get called by the blinds and the most likely person to call us is the limper! I was definitely in the "bet the flop" camp with you Baal but I don't think checking flop is awful.

I don't know who Barry Hutter is but I assume he's some tourney player. So based on that alone I CALL RIVER!

tourney players are so fucking random. they play shortstack all day, make the randomest tightest folds but can shove 100bb's with top pairz

Tourney players are driven by the constant need to accumulate chips and are blessed by people folding to pure aggression regardless of what they're representing. I don't think a tourney player is going to undergo the thought process "I'm not repping anything so I probably shouldn't bluff here" but more likely the thought process "this guy has 1 pair and I'm going to move him off it." This is not to say they are more or less sophisticated, as the second thought process definitely serves them better vs many of the amateurs they're accustomed to playing against. It does, however, making this spot a call vs a fold IMO.

so I ended up folding and when Hutter throws his hand into the muck, his hand hits the dealer's hand funny and one card flips over

it was the 6h

I guess it worked but whatever else villain had I really don't like his play throughout the hand.

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol
