- If Cotto cant finish him, I think Mayweather will win any kind of decision, similar to Pacquiao's last fight, and the fact that the biggest pay-day in history is on the line for both the fighters and promoters.

Makes it real tough to lose when you're a defensive counter-striker and guarantied to win as long as you don't get knocked out
We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

Sigh, Mayweather and Pacquiao are just trading opponents. Hurry up and just fucking fight each other. They are both fighting on a similar schedule - Pacquiao fights Bradley next month - which means Mayweather and Pacquiao can schedule for a fucking January or February 2013 fight. GET IT DONE.
Anyways, Mayweather is going to murder this cunt. Cotto is so fucking slow in the ring. He made Margarito look like a speed demon. But in my heart I just hope Cotto knocks Mayweather out.
yes boxing is pathetic nowadays, another fucking punching bag for Mayweather awesome, actually Saul vs Mosley seems more interested, they have been feeding cans to the mexican too, this is going to be his hardest fight hope he gets KOd, fuck people who get feeded cans

Cotto is a good defensive fighter himself and he can definitely keep the fight close but I bet mayweather pulls another decision. Looking forward to this one.

Cotto has some sick skill, his gas tank has gotten better and he's the one defending his belt in this fight. Fuck all the Cotto haters.
I think Mayweather is the #1 boxer p4p in the world. Mayweather has the speed, but I don't think it's impossible for Cotto to win, just that if it goes to a decision, Mayweather will win.
I'd take Cotto over PacMan in a rematch.
I'm rooting for Cotto, but I do want to see a Mayweather/PacMan fight down the line, and that will only happen if Mayweather is undefeated, yet, PacMan has 3 losses on his record.
btw, I think Mosley will retire after he loses to Canelo.

Boxing is pathetic nowadays, but people have always been beating 20+ cans to get their record up in the beginning, before facing top competition.
What Canelo did is the same thing all Mexican fighters have done, even Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez's son is the real pussy, he will probably never face a top fighter and is dodging Canelo.

Why not? Cotto has had a great career so far and if it wasn't for the first margarito fight cotto could still be undefeated. that whole scandal set him back a year or two. Also, the marquez fight was just a travesty. marquez clearly won IMO and after seeing that fight I could definitely agree with what puertorican said about taking cotto in a rematch vs. pac.

Just like in all fighter sports, the average fan likes to dwell on the losses of a fighters career, and not how well they usually do.
Yes, we remember Cotto's two losses very clearly. Why?
- Because he's only had 2 losses ever in his career.
- 1 loss was versus a cheater who denied using plaster in his gloves even though there was photo proof of it. I think it was Mayweather who said a fighter shouldn't have looked like that after that fight, or something along those lines. And, it's not like Cotto was doing bad in the loss to Margarito either.
- The second loss in Cotto's career was to PacMan, who is the #1/#2 p4p fighter in the world. Cotto's cardio and crispness in his skill wasn't as good then as it is now.
PacMan fought the best Cotto at that time, but Cotto has improved since then, PacMan hasn't improved in his last couple fights imo, and looks a little worse. HBO likes to blame PacMan's work in politics for the slight decline in his fight game.
I think that this fight will probably go to decision, unless Cotto can finish him. Mayweather knows Cotto has power, but he isn't scared of it either. Mayweather will just do Mayweather and play defensive and try to do his thing. I see Cotto getting hit, but not KO`ed/TKO`ed.

you have it 100% wrong and everybody in mexico talks about it (well every boxing fan), Canelo is backed by the biggest TV station in latin america (televisa) they are building Canelo and Julio Cesar Chavez JR has way less sponsorship but its a much better fighter but Canelo dodges him, Chavez has wanted that fight for a long time.

^ If Canelo is the one dodging, I'd be very surprised.
On a side note, have you seen Chavez Jr. fight? He's fucking terrible.
Canelo needs work too, but I'd take Canelo over Chavez Jr. when they fight.
I think Mosley is the better technical fighter, but I think Canelo will win via brute strength. I see him as a lesser skilled Cotto.
