What are T$?
Basically, T$ is Poker Tournament Money (T$, T€):
"We (PokerStars) offer our players a Tournament Money (T-Money) system. With rare exceptions, if you win a seat to any event via one of our satellite tournaments, you can choose to unregister and receive T-Money instead. T-Money can then be used to register for other PokerStars tournaments, including Sit & Gos, special events, and satellites. In some cases, T-Money can be used by VIPs to buy into live events. Please check the information pages for our Live Events for details."
Source of explanation: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/tournaments/about/
How can I trade them with people for regular money?
Pokerstars has implemented a T$ trade system in their client - from the lobby simply go to Requests menu -> Trade Tournament Money -> Sell or buy.
Enter the details of the person you're trading with, and when your trading partner fills in the exact same details on the reverse side of the transfer, Pokerstars will automatically make the swap for you.
Why would I want to do this type of transaction?
Players who won entries to tournaments through satellites and accumulate T$ through deciding to unregister from the tournaments they won satellites to may decide it's in their best interests to do something else with the money, such as play cashgames or cash it out. In order to do that they have to sell their T$ (which can only be used for pokerstars tournaments) for regular money to players looking to buy T$.
Players looking to register in real money tournaments may decide it's in their interest to buy some T$ to buy into them instead of buying in directly with regular money, as the market value of T$ is currently at about 99% of the money value they represent, i.e. approx 99 cents of real money for T$1. This way players looking to play tournaments can register for a small discount.
But LiquidPoker already has a facility where I can sell my T$
LiquidPoker run a tournament money trading service ( click here ) that you can sell your $T to for real money conveniently and instantly. It is recommended you use this service if you value the convenience of not having to find buyers on this forum.
However, by selling to liquidpoker you will receive a return of 97 cents of real money for every tournament dollar you sell (97%), whereas the current market value of $T seems to be around 99% depending on the amount you're trying to sell (with better deals for the seller being usual for bigger bulk transfers). This means that if you are happy to take the extra time to find a buyer for your $T from the poker community through use of this forum thread, then you likely stand to receive a better return on your money.
Sounds good, anything else I need to know?
If you have no luck here, there is a similar community thread on twoplustwo here where you can also seek buyers and sellers. Failing this it's worth mentioning again that if you're looking to sell and want the convenience of an instant trade, liquidpoker offers it's own automated service here.
All transactions done between forum members are private agreements; LiquidPoker and its staff doesn't take any responsibility for agreements made between users and the proceedings of transfers. |

Your cost is losing liquidity of your funds so I guess 0.5% is pretty fair price.
I can also buy a couple k so PM me if you want. |
