Yeah I've also been on the Conor Train after his first UFC fight. Something about the guys "aura", very rare do you see someone who has had the same as GSP, Aldo, Pettis, Jones - like you can't believe it but each fight they prove you wrong and before you know it you've become a fan and he's champ. Of all the guys mentioned though, he is definitely the most interesting. I need to see him fight for more than 10 minutes not because I want to see what he's got, but just because he fights an uncanny but amazing style.
No surprise to me, Jon Jones is just so fake in every way possible. I have seen similar people like him, even have had friends like he seems to be. Honestly if you would ask me, I think he is a sort of a psychopath. Little empathy for the ones around him, very full of himself, pseudo hiding behind Christ. I am not even sure he believes what he says or he is so delusional that he does. In the end he is one of the most creative, gifted and skilled fighter in the UFC. When Daut says Velasquez is not Cormier I agree, but I still have a hard time seeing Cain throwing Jones around. Jones weights less than Velasquez opponents, he has not the same wrestling pedigree than some of Cains opposition. He has not the same striking lvl than Junior, he has not the ground game of Werdum... He has no knock out power and he is smaller than Struve or Travis Browne. Yet, I clearly see him having a better shot at Cain than any of them. I am not even sure Cain would be a big favorite. I do think Jon being fake might be his one weakness, that the world around him is not real. He is not really faithful to his wife, he is probably not loving his children the way he is supposed to. He does not have the friendships he could have nor does he stays away from alcohol, cocaine (maybe weed). So if he keeps on becoming a bigger star, maybe some day he just goes too far with what he can get away with. If his dream to be the greatest UFC fighter and fighter in general is strong enough, all these bad character tendencies could still weight less than his strive to be the best martial artist. I do see a big difference in him compared to Cain, Weidman and so forth. These are more real champions to me and they also seem to be good human beings

I have terrible fighting skills, but joined a class for 3-4 months some years back, and after 3-4 classes I could order everyone by skill/strength from #1 to worst, or close to it.

It's all about timing. Jacare hasn't been screwed over, Weidman keeps getting injured and his fight against Vitor keeps getting pushed back. Weidman cancelled 3 different fight dates because of 3 different injuries: surgery on both knees, broken hand, and now a minor rib injury.
As for Jacare Souza:
"Souza was expected to face Yoel Romero on February 28, 2015 at UFC 184. However, Souza pulled out of the fight on January 15, 2015 due to pneumonia. The bout will be left intact and moved to a later date."

Correct. I expect Thatch to get a TKO.
The only clear advantage for Benson in this fight is his wrestling, and he hasn't used much of it for awhile. Even when he does use it, he isn't known as one of the best wrestlers in his division or anything.
Thatch is much taller, much longer reach, way better striker, hits much harder, is on a 10-fight win streak, he'll be the hometown fighter, and even though Benson has a good gas tank and trains year-round, he took this fight on 14 days notice and is fighting for the first time at welterweight against one of the 2 biggest fighters in that division.
If Thatch wins this like I expect him to, people will be talking about how his line of -123 or so was a gift and/or line of the year. Benson's history at lightweight is why bettors are keeping this line close. I'm still deciding on how much I want to bet on this fight, but it will at least be $100, which is a big bet for me.
