Bellator Fighting Championship - Season 4 summary
Bellator showcases a unique format of world-class Mixed Martial Arts fighting with 12-week, eight-man tournaments featuring some of the most dynamic fighters in the world.
MTV2 will air Bellator Fighting Championships Welterweight (170 pounds), Featherweight (145 pounds), Lightweight (155 pounds), and Light Heavyweight (205 pounds) tournaments. Winners of each eight man tournament receive $100,000 and a guaranteed opportunity to fight for the Bellator World Title in their respective weight. Currently Joe Warren (6-1-0) holds the Bellator Fighting Championships Featherweight title, Eddie Alvarez is the Bellator Lightweight Champion, "Funky" Ben Askren (7-0-0) is the Bellator Fighting Championships Welterweight champion and the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship will be determined this Season on MTV2.
Unlike other Mixed Martial Arts promotions, Bellator Fighting Championships is real sports competition. At Bellator, a nationally televised weekly single elimination tournament on MTV2, showcasing some of the most exciting MMA fighters in the world determines champions and #1 ranked challengers. At Bellator, fighters control their own destiny through their performance inside the cage instead of a matchmaker or promoter choosing who fights for a world title.
