The first goal for this movement in the fight against rake is to establish equitable rake for all. I think it is fair that at lower stakes we pay a LITTLE bit higher proportion rake, but right now paying 5% on almost every pot for stakes below 1/2 is completely unacceptable. There is far too high a proportion of money being taken from every pot by Pokerstars at these stakes. It's not fair to the players. It's not fair to the games higher up which would become softer if there were more winners down below.

Why should people who play lower than 5/10 be second class citizens on Pokerstars when it comes to the impact of rake on their rolls?

The rake cap per pot I would like to see established by stake:
NL2 - 1 cents
NL5 - 2 cents
NL10 - 5 cents
NL25 - 10 cents
NL50 - 25 cents
NL100 - 50 cents
NL200 - 75 cents
NL400 - 1 dollar
NL600 - 1.5 dollars
NL1000 - 3 dollars

This is about equity. People at lower stakes shouldn't have their pockets gouged more harshly than those playing higher up. Now here are the things we are going to do about it.

Join The Movement:
1. PM me or leave your e-mail in this thread
2. We are going to start a petition on one of the major sites that host them for this matter
3. Negative articles, blogs, twitter, facebook, all exposing this issue to the public including the fish
4. Organized sit-out strikes blocking games and using the chat to spread word to the fish about the movement
5. I will write an e-mail for people to copy paste and send to stars regarding this issue. We aren't just going to send it once. We're going to send it to every Pokerstars e-mail support address every single day.

I'll be starting up a blog to keep track of the movement within the next few weeks. I hope you will tell all of your friends, casual players, and regs to start reading this blog. It's how I'm going to get the word out about when and where to sit-out strike if you happen to have the time to join in.

Thank you for your time and long live the fight against the rake!

i actually advocate not doing any of these things as blocking tables, advertising to the fish how bad rake is for them and making them change their minds. negative articles ect ect are all totally bad for the poker economy.
my advice to everyone butthurt about the rake, get better at the game and stop wasting ur time on useless whining. Your just gonna hurt yourselves and the rest of us by doing this. Except bombarding PS with emails. by all means go ahead but all these things that are gonna hurt the games are just retarded.

seriously i wish a mod would just close this before this poisons the disillusioned minds of all the regs below 200NL that cant move up and make it a massive whinefest for everyone. its not gonna change the rake it litterally is a no win situation for anyone involved. This is a business for PS and FTP ect ect, if you REALLY wanted to make an impact, talk with smaller sites just starting up. The only way they can compete is by reducing rake and having very good secuirty and tech support. If you make them realize this maybe the competition created by these smaller sites with better rake deals will thus improve the quality of the games online in regards to this issue. However attacking the major sites by means of confronting the player pool of fish, when they are already iffy about online poker to begin with is only going to do bad. DO NOT do this shit

What doomer said, if you aren't good enough to beat the rake try harder, or quit, don't try to change the whole structure of the game just because you cant cut it, you wont succeed anyways.

I agree for smaller rake but the figures you have are just way too low. 10 cent max rake for NL25? You may as well just ask for 90% rakeback.

this is horrible, everyone should pay equal rake.. the cost of operation is the same at NL5 then it is NL40k

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
