whats the difference between an ante table and sitting less deep stacked?

i.e

50bb 10 players, 2bb blinds
50/2 = 25

or

100bb 10 players, 2bb blinds, ante of 0.2
100 / (2 * 0.2*10) = 100 / 4 = 25

and doesnt it therefore lesson your edge?... just curious

thanks

People are dumb and will try to adabt in God knows what retarded way and therefore your edge should be bigger? It's still poker. Just figure out what a normal raise size should be and go from there?

alteration of stackot via larger effective initial pot size
diminished advantage for short stackers, see stackot
each hand is more expensive
game plays bigger

just induces more action right? More stealing, re-stealing, and then level 10 thinking about who is rererestealing.

bye now

people keep saying MORE MONEY FTW

but its all relative

real money

$100 stack
$1/$1 = $2

$100 stack
$1/$1 20c ante = $4

in which game do u have less volatility and bigger edge? sum1 plz explain why/if its otherwise

to compare the:
$1/$1 20c ante game with $100 stack
plays like:
$1/$1 no ante game with $50 stacks

am i missing something?

Hmm

Sklansk:
"Internet online players play like if there were antes in the game" (too aggressive)

This means you should be too aggressive in ante games

:D

as far as I can reason, odds preflop get a lot better to flat a raise IP for example(due to antes), pots are bigger preflop, giving more incentive to resteal also.

You pay more blinds per round you're sitting in (one bigblind one smallblind and ante*amt of players), hence you have to loosen up or else you'll "blind out".

kinda comparable to lategame tourneys where playing 9/7 in fullring isnt profitable anymore or something like that
